  1. There's rotation and then there's Rafa's rotation. I believe in normal rotation (a few different players per game) but not as many changes as Rafa makes for each game. I think that we should identify our priorities for a season and play our best available team for that competition (PL and CL?). Rotate in the other competitions.
  2. Just watched this program on LFC TV. Absolutely fanstastic program. For someone who was a toddler when he managed the Club it was a real eye opener. As was the pictures of the Kop in full swing. As was the chill that ran down my back when YNWA was sung all those years ago. But most of all the man himself. That program has just made my evening/week. The man himself made the Club what it is today. Right, off for a beer now before I turn into a right soppy woman.
  3. Well my thinking is this.... if we are on the list and have been for at least 5 years or so then we should be pretty certain of getting a season ticket for the new stadium. Hence why I want verification that I am actually on the list! However there is one huge flaw in my thinking.... That Fivetimes may be correct and that the list is a load of bollox or it's not managed properly.
  4. Out of interest can we have a quick straw pole of who has applied for season tickets and how long they have been waiting the longest. That may give us an idea of the current waiting time. 7 Years for me.
  5. A reference number would be a move in the right direction. I just need to know I'm still on the bloody list as I've heard nothing at all from them. Email addy would be great, thanks.
  6. I applied for 2 season tickets about 7 years ago. Since then I have heard nothing from the Club and I have carried on using a borrowed season ticket. This year I rang them up to check that I was still on this list and to see if they could tell me how far I've got to wait roughly. Anyway they wouldn't tell me over the phone, they said I had to write in. I sent them a letter about 3 weeks ago and I've still heard nothing back. I need to see if I'm still on their list or not. If I'm not then I'll need to reapply asap so that hopefully I'll get a season ticket for the new stadium etc. I don't just want to leave it without knowing if I'm on their list or not. It feels as though the ticket office are seriously lacking in customer service! Anyone else found this? Or any other suggestions on how to find out if you are still on their list?
  7. I get a perfect picture but sometimes it's not widescreen.
  8. Just watched the top 10 goals by Robbie on Liverpool TV (Setanta). Absolutely fantastic. How many did he score against Man Utd in 1995? Must have been at least 4. Peter Schmeichel must have hated him big style (also uncanny how much Casper looks like his dad back then). Oh well.... if Torres can match or better Fowler then we are in for some great times ahead.
  9. I've got 4 mates coming over to watch the Wigan game, is it possible to buy tickets on the day or do Wigan sell out for this fixture? Tried ringing Wigan ticket office but you can only purchase tickets if you have previously bought tickets from them. But it does seem that tickets are available.
  10. I'm sure Robbie can make his own decisions. If he feels like extending his career in a lower then why shouldn't he? He's a footballer, may be he doesn't want to retire!
  11. Is the bollocks I'd be made up if he came here. But I think its all a load of .. erm... bollocks.
  12. We flew with Sporting Events on a Viking Airlines plane both ways. Two hours late on the way out and about an hour late on the way back which was bloody great considering all the shit with other flights that was going on around us. One flight at gate 39a all the passengers were told to bugger off and get new boarding cards, so they had to go back though security etc... no idea why or how they got on. They were already a few hours late by that point. Strangely non of our boarding cards had our names on them. That must have been illegal but as I said we were the lucky ones I think.
  13. I don't disagree that there will always be these types of people and that measures should be in place......but..... It is everyones responsibility NOT to be a rapist, murderer or ticket blagger. They can't be blameless. You can't solely blame UEFA for the fact 1000's of fans were intent on getting in without a ticket and putting the wellbeing of other genuine fans (inc woman and kids) at risk. Yes the organisation could have been better to prevent this but that shouldn't absolve the actions of these dickheads who tarnish our club and city.
  14. What? You don't think its the fans responsibility to behave? Happen or not it IS the fans responsibility to behave. There will always be rapists in this world, doesn't mean its not their responsibility to do what they do.
  15. I wasn't at Heysel or Hillsborough so can't comment. I was in Athens (and Istanbul) and I'm ashamed to say that though the organisation wasn't great (no turnstiles etc) the problems were caused by dickheads who had no tickets trying to get into the ground. These so called fans tarnish the reputation of the club and the city of Liverpool. Not to mention the fact that they could have caused another disaster to happen. Like it or not this was caused by an element of our own fans.
  16. Just got back from Athens. The 4 people in the family sitting next to us had one ticket between the four of them. God knows how they got in. When the guy with the correct tickets came to take his seat there was nearly a fight. In the end the blaggers backed off and split up looking for spare empty seats. Everyone I spoke to after the game saw people with fakes etc. There were loads. Yes the authorities should have stopped it by better checks but a lot of these blaggers got in by storming the checkpoints knocking woman and kids over (I saw it for myself). I even saw them climb a fence and push that over on top of people the other side. The police started chasing them and no doubt got hold of a few innocents in the process but it was 'an element' of our fans who started it. Talking of thieving, who broke into the souvenir shop by yanking up the roller shutter and robbing the place and chucking all the stuff outside for other fans? Reminds me of the match day programs getting nicked in Istanbul. We all get upset when outsiders talk about the stereotype Scousers (thieves etc) but the truth is there are nobheads out there that tarnish us all with the same brush. Thanks for that. Yes the ticket situation was a fiasco and yes the organisation from Uefa and the police was shit. But they were not all to blame.
  17. Robbie is favourite to score in todays match. Odds of 2.3 Not surprised really!
  18. Sad to see him go. My favourite player of my time (I'm 37). Was hoping LFC could offer him another role at the club so may be his passion for LFC and his pure skill could rub off on other players.
  19. Travel and ticket sorted. Fly from Liverpool to Athens on the Tuesday and back on the Thursday. Staying at a hotel about an hour from the stadium but transfers included.
  20. I think demand will outstrip supply. However ticket tout prices did drop at the last moment for Istanbul because it was almost impossible to arrange travel to Turkey at the last moment (all the day flights were booked etc).
  21. I've cancelled my booking because I've found day flights available for £480 plus insurance. Not worth the hassle!
  22. Nope we won't have to be on the check in desk! We are using Air Charter UK. Its a boeing 737 with 148 seats. Prices includes all ground staff services and passenger taxes etc. Its expensive because there are no spare planes in the UK and this one is being brought over from Europe. There is now a possibility that we may have to add a few more quid to the price because of the Atol cost (going through a recognised travel agency so that payments are secure etc). We'll see. I've booked the plane because I know a lot of people can't afford to take 3 days off and arranging hotels etc. In Istanbul I did a day trip with Istanbul Reds which worked out better.
  23. We have now chartered a plane leaving Liverpool at 3.30am on Wednesday the 23rd and departing Athens at 2.30am on the 24th (i.e. its a day return flight). Price with taxes and ground fees will be circa £700 each return. We will have a web site up and running hopefully tomorrow night. If Dave allows it I'll post the details on here tomorrow.
