  1. I lived there for 3 years from 87 to 90. I imagine its changed a bit since then but I'd still swerve the Bigg Market in favour of the Quayside.
  2. told ya Dont forget with overshoes to wear the tights over the top, if you tuck them in the water will seep into the shoe.
  3. they are 6 for 14 quid on wiggle http://www.wiggle.co.uk/lifeline-essential-narrow-road-inner-tubes-6-pack/ just lash it and stick a new tube on you mingebag.
  4. If you are in the city centre then walk, dont bother with cabs and public transport. With the exception of the Vatican all the big attractions are walking distance Its maybe 40 minutes from the colluseum to the Spanish steps but along the way you've got the Forum, Trevi Fountain, Vittorio, Pantheon, pizza nuvona etc. Gelato by the Trevi fountain Avoid the river its crap and the dont go for a coffee in Piazza del popolo at the top of the trident, you are paying three times the price for the view.
  5. vw do some crackers another dog realted one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ic1XqQ49i0 and the rude kid
  6. There are a few coast to coast routes. The best know is probably Whitehaven to Tynemouth. I haven't done it but I'd like to have a go, its about 140 miles so one very long day or 2 short days.
  7. Just got back from cycling from Manchester to London. Good fun apart from the shitty weather yesterday morning.
  8. Why is golden brown such a popular choice as a track that doesn't fit with the rest of a The Stranglers body of work? Strange Little Girl and Always the Sun were both big hits and both much closer in mood and tempo to Golden Brown then they are to the likes of Peaches, Duchess, or No More Heroes. Anyway Geno by Dexy's is nothing like the rest of their Godawful Too-Rye-Ay dungaree work. The Revolution will not be Televised by Gil Scott-Heron is miles away from the majority of his traditional stuff like Lady Day and John Coltrane, or Pieces of a Man.
  9. Another band who stole their name from Georges Remi are The Thompson Twins. They get away with it though as in the books they aren't called The Thompson Twins because they are so obviously not twins. The moustaches are very slightly different but more significantly one of them is called Thompson and the other is called Thomson.
