  1. Didn't Torres take a pay-cut to come here? If so then why couldn't Aguero do the same especially if he is a fan?
  2. I'd still say he scores a lot of goals and I'd prefer him to Cole, Jovanovic or Maxi any day. From wiki: Senior career* Years Team Apps† (Gls)† 2001–2004 Dinamo Zagreb 84 (19) 2004–2006 Hajduk Split 45 (12) 2006–2009 Portsmouth 83 (9) 2009– Tottenham Hotspur 34 ( 8 ) National team‡ 2004– Croatia 63 (15)
  3. I'd be pleased swapping him with Joe Cole and give them a couple of mill. aswell. The injuries is a concern, but I think he has a better chance than Cole for contributing to our team over the next 3-4 years. He wouldn't be in our strongest 11, but he could certainly be a nice alternative to say a quick winger on the left. He scores a lot of goals and is good on set pieces too.
  4. He got a lot of stick for moving to Miami. Afterwards he made this video YouTube - NIKE BASKETBALL: LEBRON RISE
  5. Oscar Wendt is hopeless! I regularly watch FC Copenhagen on the tv here in Denmark and I really think he is massively overrated. Probably only talk of him because he's a free agent in the summer? I think he's worse than Konchesky. I'd be very dissapointed if we end up getting him, but since Roy left the club I don't really believe we're after him?
  6. Lucas is decent, but mostly when playing "superior" oppositions. This season he's been good against Chelsea and United most recently. It games like these where we don't expect him to do anything going forward, but just concentrate on putting pressure and closing down space infront of our back four. He's biggest weakness is the fact that he is very slow and not anything speciel regarding his tecnic. His passing and vision is average and doesn't help us at all in games particularly at Anfield where we need to press on for goals. To me he's a very "Rafa-like" or "Roy-like" player. He has his merits but having played so many games for us I'd have to say he's missing a lot in becoming real class for a top side. Furthermore the fact that he is now a regurlar starter for us is only because of a general weakness of our side and midfield in particular. "The best midfield in the world", does not have Lucas in it (or Poulsen or Spearing). Lucas has gotten far to many games only because the competitions for a starting place simply isn't there and haven't been for a coulple of years. It's nothing personal, because I think he's done well and acted very professionel with all the criticism he's gotten, but he's not good enough to be playing all these games.
  7. Wouldn't these players only leave to play Champions league? Normally, yes, we could replace Reina fairly easy because there are some very good keepers around, but in our current state I don't see us getting any of the keepers listed above. Maybe De Gea, but I really havn't seen enough of him to say he'd do a good job for us?
  8. I want a female ref, but not one of the cunts mentioned in this thread.
  9. Laudrup did well with Getafe and is doing a good job now with Mallorca. Hopefully it takes more than that to become Liverpool manager? Just after the january transferwondow closed he came out with a sharp criticism of the board and the CEO at Mallorca, because they didn't buy a striker for him. He talked about this at a pressconference. I don't like his way of during it. First sight of trouble and he would complaine and if he was to be succesfull he'd be of to Real or Barcelona given the chance. he might be young, but he isn't a long term manager for Liverpool.
  10. If we were to sell Pepe for lets say £20 mill. I'd go with Neuer and while we're at it get Mertesacker in aswell.
  11. It wouldn't surprise me and if Van Der Sar has a word to say regarding their new keeper I think it's very likely to happen. Stekelenburg is still a relatively young keeper with his his best years ahead of him.
  12. If (and a big IF it is) Reina was to leave in the summer I'd go for Manuel Neuer from Schalke. In fact all the keepers United are being linked with will do a good job, so I think we'd be looking at the same candidates? But Neuer would be perfect ofr us or them. He's only 24 and would be very good in the PL. I'd say he could be on his way out of Schalke. They're currently number 11 in the league, so slim chances of Europe next season. If United were to buy a keeper in the summer I ofc hope it isn't Pepe, but I'd be very unhappy if they're to get Neuer cause he'll be a big hit. As much as we love Pepe if he doesn't want to be here anymore we'll replace him just like Torres and there are candidates out there.
  13. but really just running in the background. Quinny given it to the blues is a bit of fun listening too, but not the greatest show on earth.
  14. I don't know. Think he's already been on? Been listening the last 2 hours no word of it
  15. Radio - Listen live - talkSPORT - for men who love to talk sport | talkSPORT
  16. Your right. Suarez will probably be on the bench which makes sense, but Kenny have already made some surprising selection so might see another tonight.
  17. I'd go with this: Reina Kelly Carragher Agger Johnson Poulsen Gerrard Meireles Kuyt N'gog Suarez Kenny said we wouldn't be changing our style of play just because we now got Carroll instead of Torres. Wheter it's 4-3-3 or 4-5-1 depends on situations in the game (attacking or defending). 4-4-2 is another option, but with pace on the wings I don't fancy this. I think Suarez was brought in to play on either flank with Carroll in the middel and Kuyt on the other side (for now at least). Kuyt and Suarez are able to play on either side. Poulsen played ahead of lucas recently and he suggested that it might have been because he's better in the air? We might need that tonight?
  18. Don't see Suarez making this one - he's not even trained yet? Don't feel to confident in our attack for this game. Kuyt is in poor form and N'gog been out for a while.
  19. Happy days for Benayoun and Torres!
  20. I believe it is. Is this what your thinking of? @coops_lfc: Just seen Torres outside Melwood, he says he is committed to the club...That's all he said. he signed an autograph and shook my hand. #LFC Pretty inconclusive...
  21. Didn't Jovanovic just say no to Wolfsburg? Well, no matter, I basically agrees with your point, but there is no general rule here it seems. I doubt the club will sell at this point, but I'd happily let him go for £50 mill in the summer.
  22. Hopefully he'll take the gum out before opening his fat ginsoak arselicking mouth.
  23. Most likely bollocks, but SSN now saying that Comolli is still in Amsterdam?
  24. It shouldn't matter if Adam is their (FSG) first signing. If we go on and bring in Suarez or someone else of that caliber and maybe even more it's irrelevant who got here first. After all it will be in the space of a week! It's not like we're going to think that because we buy Adam first we won't get a winger or striker is it? The owners and Comolli has been talking big in the press about money being there. Fine then do the deals or stop talking like this cause right now only Blackpool and Ajax have gained anything from it. I trust the owners to get it right, but they have put pressure on themselves talking like this cause in the end supporters don't care about fees for players. It may very well be sensible to buy on the cheap or at least do solid deals, but for what - selling with a profit? These players will have been well worth the cash if we end up taking fourth spot (unlikely yes, but long term). It will be a huge let down if FSG don't deliver now after all their talk. January is difficult, but it didn't stop them from talking. I still think we'll get Adam and Suarez, maybe more, but they've done themselves little favours so fare in negotiating a sensible fee.
  25. If we can send out Jovanovic and Babel to bring in Suarez and Young it should send a very positive signal of our intensions under Henry and Comolli. I'm not convinced about Warnock, but I'd rather have him than Konchesky. It just doesn't make much sense unless we actually are able to selle or loan out Konchesky. I'd still say we need a better left back come summer, but depending on other deals we can wait with this a bit. A central defender and a defensive midfielder should be next on the list. We can easily do with 5-6 new quality players, but can we get 2 of these now I'd think it's a much easier job getting the rest in the summer. This should also be a very positive signal of our intensions to our current star players and help us finish the season on a high. For all our troubles in the league I can't help thinking that we'll win the EL in Dublin.
