  1. Anyone else think that United opted for Fellaini and they deliberately fucked up their deal for Herrera. They're not exactly loaded are they, so once Gollum knew he was getting Screech, he pulled the plug. Hopefully, Herrera fucks them over the next few years.
  2. Agree about Long. Would've thought he'd be a good squad filler. Can't make my mind up if he's a shit good player or a good shit player though :)
  3. Would've liked McCarthy, Lukaku and Barry so the bitters have done well today. Fellini is a very good player, but isn't going to take the Mancs to the next level.
  4. I used to think Ibra was a total knobhead, but he seems to be a bit of a character. Zlatan Ibrahimović - Funny Moments - YouTube
  5. Given was an excellent keeper in his day. However, he wasted his life away with Shearer at the barcodes. Yeah, a Toon legend, but not too many medals to show for it.
  6. That's it in one. Moses is a very good premiership player, just like sturridge was when he was there. We can give Moses the stage to become even better.
  7. Ozil is a brilliant player. Undoubtedly world class. However, Arsenal need a Viera or a Keane type player, not an Ozil. Spurs have bought a lot of very good players, but they're going to take some time to settle in and if they don't make the Champions League, then they're fucked. Bale will be badly missed by them. I reckon our more "humble" and less heralded signings might just turn out to be the best of the lot. Mignolet has been the best keeper in the league, Toure has great experience and more importantly experience of winning. Sakho looks like he could be a beast for us and ilori is supposed to be a great talent. Moses might not be good enough for Chelsea right now, but he could be a very shrewd signing. I feel we are building a proper team, while Arsenal aren't really getting what they need and Spurs could end up with too many egos kicking off with each other.
  8. Delighted with sakho and if the Portuguese lad is as good as they say, happy days. A defensive midfielder would be brilliant as well, but defence is the most important position. Given was a top top goalie, but it isn't 2005. He has been dire last few times I've seen him. Maybe, Brendan wants a few more good experienced pros in the dressing room, but the difference between given and toure, is kolo is still a top player.
  9. I'm enjoying it. I totally agree about the fellas in it looking like they could be in a boyband, rather than a drug gang though. I think if I compared it to the wire, the sopranos or the shield, I'd think it was crap, but that's an unfair comparison to make. I don't think I'll be telling the grand kids about it, but I think I'll keep watching.
  10. We will sign Alderweireld and Eriwksson this week. My prediction anyhow.
  11. That lad Sakho is supposed to be very good from what I've heard, even though I've only seen him once. Sounds like his situation could be a bit like Sturridge at Chelsea in that he was playing well but got shafted to accommodate all the expensive new signings at PSG. Don't know enough about European football, but you can't go wrong with the Germans or the Dutch. They're also more likely to embrace the city, rather than fuck off when Barca come in for them. I'm sure we could get some class attacking players from their leagues. I really like the look of McCarthy of Wigan. He'd really improve us and he'll only get better. Unfortunately, I can see him going to the blues to replace Fellaini.
  12. (1) Mignolet - by a mile. (2) Toure - loving this fella. (3) Sturridge - great goal and thanks for the 3 points Danny lad.
  13. For the first 25 minutes, it was like watching the Liverpool of the 70s and 80s. We were confident on the ball and played some glorious stuff. The Villa couldn't get near us. Then, we began to get sloppy and to be fair, they deserved a draw, as they were the better team for the last half an hour. However, 3 points is 3 points. That was the kind of performance that the Mancs, City and Chelsea regularly have had over the last few years, as they've won trophies. I actually think Villa will be a tough nut to crack this season, so great to have a tricky away over and done with. Good job lads.
  14. This lad is going to be amazing for us. While I was sad to see Pep go, I do think right now Mig is the better keeper. I agree that it wasn't our most pressing position to fill, but if we waited another year, Mignolet could have doubled in value.
  15. Have to say spurs would seem to have bought well and are probably building a better team, even if they lose bale. However, they are losing one of the best players in the world and all their signings ave little experience of the premiership. If they don't make the top 4, then they are royally twatted. There is still time to get in a few players. I'm very impressed with someone like Toure. Maybe cissokho will be another find. You look at the mancs under whiskey nose, their two best pound for pound signings were probably Irwin and Schmeicheal.
  16. This is the reason why he isn't worth more than 40 mil. The fella is trouble and we should get rid ASAP. If Arsenal give us anything from 42-45 mil, then happy fucking days. We can get 2-3 top players for that money and not have the worry about what he'll do next. I'm annoyed with myself for getting taken in by him. He's a prick and I bought into all the us against the world nonsense. To think, club legends like Whelan, Hansen, and Thompson (even pundit of the year Lawro) were absolutely castigated for coming out against him after the bite. I feel like a right knobhead fo being one of the people castigating them, when in the cold light of day, he is everything that Shanks, Bob, Ronnie and Joe would abhore.
  17. Whether Mignolet becomes as good as Pepe is one thing, but I do think he's a quality addition. I really like Aspas and think he'll be a boss signing and Kolo Toure could be a Gary Mac type signing. Alberto looks good as well. It's early days so I'm not going to throw all my toys on the floor. When we were away, some deals could have been tied up over the phone and verbal agreements made, although I don't know why Ayres couldn't have been back here rather than sightseeing in South East Asia. Alot is based on Suarez staying or leaving I reckon.
  18. This is all a bit daft lads. All fans have their idiots, we have plenty of our own. I remember after the 7/7 bombings, some clubs like Hull and other mostly Northern teams engaging in songs about the bombings. I also remember going to Old Trafford in the 70s and 80s, when some of our fans were doing the plane gestures (contrary to what some of our fans might say, this didn't start after Hillsborough). I've met loads of Rangers and Celtic fans down the years and I've liked most of them. Maybe some of these same Rangers fans were at games singing about atrocities of Catholics/Irish, while some of those Celtic fans were singing of atrocities of British soldiers/Loyalists but I doubt it. I'd also wager a bet that the Celtic/Rangers fans that engage in such chanting, aren't too different to the Mancs who sing about Hillsborough or our fans that do the helicopter. One word scumbags and you find them in every village, town and city around the world lads.
  19. That money is crazy for Bale, but he is a fabulous player and if he leaves, then I really think we'll finish ahead of them. Only thing is it's a bit like us with Suarez, better all round teams can be built with that sort of money. I would say a lot of our potential targets are their targets, so the longer it drags on the better, while I just hope if Luis is going a proper 50mil bid is made and we can get the players we want in - a few people I've spoken to reckon that we have Suarez going and Suarez staying targets and that makes sense. Like or loathe the owners, they surely know that unless 2 very good and well known players are bought if Luis goes, there will be absolute uproar from the fans.
  20. Don't say too much lads, I've only seen two episodes!!
  21. Coming from Scottie Road, those Dublin accents aren't too hard to understand. However, my Cockney wife hadn't a clue what some of them were saying :) that Nidge fella seems a great actor.
  22. Anyone been watching Love Hate? Looks promising.
  23. Couldn't have put it better. I know for a fact that a lot of our great players of the past like Terry Mac, Hansen, Lawro, Kenny, Whelan and Barnsie turned down moves to the top Italian/Spanish sides to stay with us, at a time when those players would have been set up for life by moving. Some of our old legends might be shite pundits and maybe knobheads, but they didn't piss on the club like fellas like Suarez.
