  1. Henderson pretending to be a tough bastard is getting embarrassing at this stage. He was at it with Zaha yesterday, who more or less just laughed at him. He can't carry it off. He should put a bit of bite into his challenges instead.
  2. Hope everybody got a good look at Borini - we won't see him again until he's doing the post-season lap of honour again this time next year.
  3. There once was a footballer named Puncheon, Who one day while eating his luncheon, Was called by Ian Ayre, who said: 'Don't mean to be crass, you're not world class, But will you join my club for £45m?'
  4. Lovren is a burnt-out Nissan Micra of a footballer.
  5. On second thoughts, A League Of Their Own might not be this weekend's most horrific viewing option.
  6. I know a good way to end his run of form. Sign him for £35m.
  7. Judging by the adverts, that A League Of Their Own banter/quiz show looks awful enough to put a relatively content, stable person on suicide watch.
  8. Great play from Lallana. Hopefully we'll see a lot more of that from him next season.
  9. Didn't realise Colin Pascoe had a pilot's licence.
  10. How much do people reckon we'll end up paying for Mane?
  11. I was fortunate enough to be in Istanbul in '05, but my abiding memory of Stevie will be him consoling a distraught Suarez after the Palace game last season. What a guy. Already looking forward to his return in whatever shape it will take.
  12. We're probably not a big attraction for players like Higuain or Benzema right now. If we got an oligarch in tomorrow, I'd take Lewandowski over either anyway. Think he's a quality striker and a tough bastard who'd flourish in the English game.
  13. Fair enough. I'd be more critical than you on our incomings since summer 2008. For me, the outlay and what the lack of value we got and continue to see speak for themselves. Agree with you on the legacy issue and the sometimes unrealistic expectations of a huge fanbase adding the to pressure. It could also be argued that Rodgers made a rod for his back last season by managing a team that lost out on the league by the narrowest of margins, not that he seems to get much credit any more for anything related to that.
  14. But would you not agree that of the current top five in today's league table, poor signings are always a much bigger setback for us than for clubs with phenomenally larger resources at their disposal? Personally, and even taking account of Suarez, I think our overall hit-rate has been extremely poor since the last couple of years of Rafa's time. Clearly, changing managers regularly and an absence/constant revision of strategy haven't helped either. Until such time as we go down the Manchester City route in terms of ownership, Liverpool managers (and club officials) will always be subject to a more forensic and unforgiving analysis of their dealings than the current top four. Fair or not, there's less margin for error if we want to compete.
  15. It's very true, It's very true-uue, We need a zero tolernace policy, On the Sloop John B.
  16. You risk running out of battery if you don't plug in that monolithic laptop, Reaper.
  17. What Smiths b-side is that line from?
  18. Anybody heard the stuff on twitter that Ayre was meeting Pjanic's representatives in a Carlisle hotel? Sean Dundee and Dion Dublin backed the plan on Talksport earlier. I guess you could say there's.... Pjanic on the streets of Carlisle with Dublin, Dundee on Ayre's side.
  19. My thinking is similar, though I've a fear that he'll continue to be shunted around to different positions in which he won't quit excel as needs arise. Versatility can be a curse for a footballer. Anyway, your set-up makes clear how crucial it is to bring in both a holding midfielder and top class alternative to Sturridge. Coutihno is twice the footballer when he actually has a bit of class in front of him.
  20. What do people think is is his best position? After a great start in defence, he seemed to be routinely targeted in the air by a lot of opposition. Is he mobile enough for midfield? And do you see him in a defensive or attacking role there?
  21. Any vaguely combative midfielders among our youth ranks? There's surely an opportunity there.
