  1. Good little player is wee Joe. Sent from my Nokia 3210 from 15 years ago using Tapatalk playing snake
  2. As much of a joke Boris Johnson appears to be, he isn't one to provoke any international aggression. I actually think he did a very good job as London mayor and represented people from all communities well. I suspect a lot of his positioning in this referendum was more for political gain than harbouring ill feeling towards immigration etc. Trump is obviously the one to watch out for.

  4. Poor result. Clarkson et al were brilliant at presenting Top Gear and the 3 of them had a great relationship. This was a poor substitute.
  5. I'm assuming we'll be attacking strongly from the off. In which case this is going to be a dangerous game as it'll leave more space for Dortmund to exploit. Instead we should just stack all 11 players on the goal line with Mignolet in front. Impossible to concede.
  6. Firstly it's not illegal to tax avoid. Which means there won't be any legal charges made. Secondly, who exactly is under fire over here? All we hear is with respect to Cameron's father with a very slight cross over to Cameron himself. I really don't see anything becoming of this in the UK because no one is implicated (yet).
  7. Well...sure...but that debate is an old one. There's nothing in these leaks that stand out to me as being significantly new or surprising.
  8. None of this is news is it? I'm not shocked by any of these details. Common knowledge that the richest have the ability, and generally use that ability, to minimise their tax liability through legal means. I don't think any notable UK individuals have been accused of doing anything illegal?
  9. Banks can invest in whatever they want. Not their fault Chinese govt subsidises production.
  10. But the financial crisis escalated into irrational fear amongst investors. The market wasn't rational. It was a liquidity crisis which was forced into a solvency crisis by fear (partly). Plus everything was so interconnected, if the banks failed everyone would have suffered not just the bankers. Most of the help was liquidity to stop the fear, from memory we only nationalised 2 banks? Why so rigid in view points. State can intervene if the benefits outweigh the costs, it's just rarely the case that it will.
  11. Comparing this steel industry issue with the financial crisis is a complete non sequitur. Very different circumstances. The problem here though is that it seems China are flogging off steal below production costs because of state subsidies. If that's true we really have to implement some form of protectionism for our steel industry don't we? Sometimes 2 "market failures" acting against each other get you to the right outcome.

  13. Lol at "final solution" - deliberate use of the term I don't doubt. I can't say anything about "all muslims" - and I never have done. You'll have to be more specific.
  14. Interested to know exactly what you mean by that especially as I'm religious myself.
  15. Cause and effect Dennis. It occurs in every walk of life - it doesn't excuse anything but explains human behaviour. If I were to give a reason for why someone kills someone else it doesn't excuse it - it gives the rationale. The "motive" - as they say in criminal cases. But the killer is always responsible.
  16. I don't know the full story. Share some links if you got any.
