    Lost

I think the "Japs" are korean, but I guess your analysis is pretty spot-on, joeyb.
  2. I speak a few languages. Nothing exciting, though.

    Lost

Watched Lost yesterday. Pretty cinematics, great camerawork and overall hot, as far as television series go. Anyone else see it? What'd you think? sq
  4. It pains me as much as it does you. I suffered through a discussion where Rowling, Dan Brown and Fielding were heralded as the greatest authors of all time. I nearly cried. On one hand: Great, without these authors, fewer people would read. But by god, why don't people take a step and read some fiction (or *gasp* non-fiction) that is actually well written? It doesn't have to be high-brow, either, but Dan Brown is an insult to intelligent people, Rowling is a crap writer (although the latest installment of Harry Potter supposedly is a lot better) and Helen Fielding should just be shot between the eyes. That people buy the first book of mindless drivel is bad enough. But the second one, too? And two films? Gimme a fucking break. *breathes* Okay, I'm calm now. - Haje (who's currently reading David Copperfield)

    Asbestos

Sorry to hear about your dad, Gambler. the BBC has a piece on diseases to do with Asbestos, such as mesothelioma and similar (see mesothelioma for more information). They can be pretty dangerous, and includes all sorts of evil forms of cancer. I would suggest to get him to a hospital to get it checked out (if it hasn't been yet). Take care, man.
  6. Gotta love how "facial scrub, after shave soother, lip balm, and shower gel" brings up all sorts of skin-care links in those adverts. Makes me giggle. I agree though. Bah.
  7. Hey, cheeky! hehehe.
  8. Never been to Chester Zoo. In fact, the last time I was in the zoo was Artis, in Amsterdam, exactly a year ago. I flew there on September 11 last year, just to be difficult
  9. I thought I would never ask about this, but is there any good place to get mobile ringtones on the internet? I have been copying stuff over from my computer via bluetooth, so I don't care, but I had a friend asking me about ring tones for his Nokia the other day, and I realised that I had no idea where to get the damn things. No crazy frog please. *laughs* So yes, ringtones of Liverpool-related songs. Anyone?
  10. Ding-ding-ding-ding-ding, ring-ding-ding-ding-ding-ding-ding... daaah daaah. *grabs gun*
  11. Heh. Yeah. I guess I just have a weird type of humour.
  12. heres a llama, theres a llama, & another little llama, fuzzy llama, funny llama, llama, llama, llama... http://daemlich.net/2364 Completely mad. But funny.
  13. True, on the other hand with a Dell, HP or a Fujitsu or something, you are likely to be cheaper off. You can pick up a half-decent entry-level laptop at around £400 or so, while macs start at 700 I believe. Depends on your budget, really.
  14. Heh. Can't go wrong with a Powerbook or an iBook. Click one of those adverts after your post to find some good deals. Get a mac. Seriously. Apple totally rules.
  15. The posts counts now reflect the actual number of posts you have on the forums. In the past, PMs etc have been counted as posts as well, and there have been some other problems.
  16. Okay guys... Thank you muchly!
  17. this is the subscription link, if you don't know how to do it.
  18. Can a few of you subscribe to this thread, and then post? That way, we should be able to tell if it works properly. Strange problem.
  19. I have had mixed feed-back about the e-mail working. Do you guys get e-mails from the forums when someone replies to subscribed threads etc?
  20. Are any of you in the legal profession? I have a short and a long question, the long one would have to be done in private, but it would only require a "yes" or "no" answer. Short question: Is it possible to subpoena information? Essentially, a good while ago I was scammed by someone on eBay. I know who he is, where he lives, and what he does for a living. But of course, I cannot prove it was him, unless I can trace the money. I can do this, if I can subpoena the bank account number from PayPal (the bank account the payment was paid out to), then subsequently the bank account information from the bank (as they are legally obliged to keep, I believe). With this proof, I'd take the guy to the county court and claim my money back, plus interest. How would I go forward to actually serve these subpoenas, though?
  21. (I'm referring to this one, this one and this one, of course, in case they are changing about.
  22. Heh. I am particularly impressed by the google ads that show up in this thread. It is as if the advertising is trying to help out the gambler. Some of those pages are pretty damn good too, actually, gambler - have a look at them!
  23. Heh, I stumbled across a toy-store discount When shopping at Toys 4 me, enter TOYSDISCOUNT at the order page, and get 10% off! Not sure if lots of people are in the market for toys here, but you never know. Enjoy!
  24. There are loads of sites out there that do fantastic offers, by the way. Check out this one, this one and this one in particular.
  25. It makes sense to remove beer logos from childrens' sizes as well. Who wants their 7-year old running about with an alcoholic beverage on their chest?
