    We weren't aiming for 7th or 8th last season or this season either. I don't understand your argument that finishing in 7th place above but no trophies is definitely better than 8th with a trophy.

    Then why did you bring the tv money point into it? Last season wasn't good but we won a trophy. This season hasn't been good, but Rodgers should get another go due to a good 2nd half of the season.

    What's your argument again? I don't know if we're nearer to top of the league points wise. Do you get more tv money this season for coming 7th and winning nothing than coming 8th and winning a trophy and making a final?

    Do you get more tv money for finishing 7th with no trophies or decent cup runs than you do for finishing 8th with a trophy won and another final with everyone of them matches near enough being on tv?

    Did we not get an extra million for finishing 1 position higher? Not gonna do much in the transfer market.

    After September we've had no real important matches this season (bar against Man United and Everton and we didn't win any of them). If we won we'd stay midtable, if we lost we'd stay midtable. That was for the whole season after the first 10 games. Last year we had matches that felt really important. That if we won we could achieve something. And we did. We beat Chelsea and Man City on the way to winning a trophy. And I don't think coming 7th instead of 8th makes it more likely you'll win a trophy.

    I've found loads arguing this season has been far better than last season. They pull out league stats but conveniently forget we done well in cups and won 1 last year, and the fact we also beat Chelsea, Man City and Man United.

    Yes. But it hasn't been a good season. Not any better than last season overall imo. One position higher but no trophies or ever really challenging for a trophy or 4th place.
