  1. Anyone able to help? Will pay handsomely if someone can supply tickets...
  2. I've posted something similar here before, but here goes... I'm taking my brother and father on a trip to our beloved home of Football this January, and we're desperate to see the game... (I know all of you are, but...) We've already booked flight/hotel, but our ticket source has let us down.... I'm a lifelong supporter, and on my previous trips to Anfield have been travelling independently and obtained tickets in regular manner or via the Norwegian supporters club... I'm reluctant to (both morally and financially) go through the agents on the internet, but as I don't qualify for the sales (no Norwich/... recorded on my fancard), I'm starting to get a bit worried.... Can anyone help me (us)? Again sorry to use this excellent site for this, but...
  3. Thanks for your help/answer, will they go on sale the 20th or the 21st, I'm not sure if I've got the maths right :dunno:
  4. Not the most frequent writer on this forum I must admit, as I tend to find what other people write/think is more interesting than my own view :P However, I'm truly desperate for tickets for the abovementioned game, and I'm therefore going to use all possible channels to get them. This is a prayer to all loving Reds supporters; I'm taking my brother and father on their maiden journey to the home of football (we're from Norway), and up until now it has seemed we would get help from Riises personal manager/agent to get us tickets. He has just texted me that he won't be able to provide it, and I/we are therefore gutted! We have already booked/paid travel and stay, so we're definitely going. Having been to Anfield a few times before, I'm aware of the possibilities :P in the black market, but as we all really would like to sit together, our opportunities  are limited... I know this is the game, but I'm still asking you: Could you be on the lookout for tickets to this game for me and my family? We'we already paid handsomely for the trip, and although in principle I'm against it, we might just have to look to internet agents to get to our goal. The cheapest I've found so far is £175 per ticket... I'm obviously aware of the credit card line and the normal channels to get tickets, but I'm not to sure that we'll be able to sit the whole day on our phones to get through... If anyone can come up with anything of interest, you'll get a nice reward!! Please contact me on tgjerdalen@hotmail.com Apologies to Mr Usher for littering your excellent page/forum with this
  5. You rule. Fact. * *Goes home from work (as English teacher at lower secondary school) feeling pleased being compared to the mighty Tom Ross.
  6. Hvis jeg får skrive på mitt morsmål, så skal jeg unngå skrivefeil... or I could keep on trying with my not so fluent (as I would want it to be) English :(
  7. Actually, it is just kick-ass, not kamikaze as I'm a quite confident gambler (and footballer for that matter), and this is based on hundreds of observations of both the Reds and the scum during the past days/weeks/months/years. United are in drastical decline football-wise (even if they have the dough to buy themselves out of the most obvious problems), we're not! Simple, really....
  8. I certainly agree with Tom on this one. I made a bet last week with a friend of mine (everton supporter now mysteriously watching all uniteds games...) on who will finish highest. Relatively fond of betting (both of us really) he even offered me odds on it! The deal is; if United finish above us, I'll give him 2000 Norwegian kr £ 160?, when we finish above United,- he'll have to fork up 4000. Now that's what I call a good deal  . As Tom says (and he's always right, remember!), United's midfield is crap bar Ronaldo (and he too seems to be tiring a bit). Keane, Scholes and Giggs have all been great footballers, but they all seem to be a fading quite a bit ... On the defensive end they have the worst keepers since Bosnich/Taibi, and their defence is fully dependant on the Ferdinand/Silvestre partnership (which seems to be alright). If Rio is missing, Silvestre will adapt to cock-ups all the time, and when Silvestre is missing, cue G.Neville/o'Shea and the ever-overrated Wes Brown to do the business :no . I agree that they do have some threatening players upfront,- but i'm not sure whether Ferguson will be able to bring out the best in them... Seeing Rooney out wide yesterday, I'm actually positive he won't bring it out... RVN is a cunt, but his goal-ratio (even without all the penalties) is impressive, - and he's also quite good at holding the ball up and bringing other people into the game. I can truly see united struggle to get fourth this year, I'm actually super-confident we will finish third. I know I'm going to raise a few eyebrows with this one; I actually think Everton could be the ones shutting United from CL-football next year. Here in Norway we're quite spoilt with Premiership coverage, and from what I've seen this season (which is a lot :sniff:) the 3rd best team (not club) footballwise at the moment is without doubt Everton. They have an established (if not pretty) style of play, and Moyes seems to be getting the best out of the minimal talent that is there! Of course, should Gravesen be injured (hate him, but he's class), they could easily be mid-table again. The Dane however, does look like he can handle a few knocks... This is how it will finish.... Chelsea 87 points Arsenal 83 points Liverpool 71 points Everton 65 points Man Utd 63 points Bolton/Boro? 60 points I hope I'm wrong about Chelsea though... Even if i bear a grudge against Arsenal for the late 80's/early 90's, Michael Thomas :wallbutt: , Tony Adams etc, I have never felt the animosity towards them as to that total joke of a football club that Chelsea is... Anyway, good luck with the season! modest Norwegan
  9. Don't think he's become any slower. Also don't think this would be a big problem if the positional play of the back four worked well enough. Two big errors from central midfield (Diao) and central defense/midfield (Carra/Diao) were cruelly punished on Saturday. Credit must go to Malbranque for two lovely passes, and to Boa Morte for outpacing our defence two times. Both Kirkland and Josemi made positional errors on the first goal, and Diao played a shocker throughout. No big fan of ifs/buts, but if Alonso had played, none of the situations that led two the goals would have occured. Liverpool's problem at the moment is that only Riise and to a certain degree Carragher carry enough pace, and you need one pacy central defender if you want Hyypia and co to push further up the field than they did under Houllier. To your question; you don't necessarily need pace if your positional play is good enough, and you have a pacy defender next to you. Hyypia I feel is in possession of the first but not the second. Carra mr pacy x hyypia riise This would work fine, if mr pacy x also had positional sense (which is why I didn't put Traore there)....
  10. I know, just wondered whether someone were going away, or would be kind enough to sell their potential ticket to us... sounds a bit desperate I know,- but worth a try anyway... Have been travelling with the Norwegian supporters club and their operator a couple of times, but they are heavily overpricing the cost of flight and hotel because they know people are desperate for tickets, and will pay almost anything to have one guaranteed when they come to Liverpool. It's cheaper for the 3 of us to buy from scalps and whatever when we come over, even if it means paying 150-200£ per match ticket,- as the hotel/flight/match packet will cost us approx 600£ each... So I'm likely to post back in December too... Thanks anyway
  11. I'm a passionate Norwegian red, although the number of posts I've made her since joining perhaps suggests otherwise.... In January, I'll be taking my brother and father to Liverpool to see my beloved Reds. Our aim is to see Liverpool vs Man Utd,- and if anybody here know of any good way to get three tickets to the match (scheduled 15 Jan 3 p.m), I would be very happy!!! Any season tickets holders staying away??? OK, knowing this will be a long shot in the Didi category, but still hoping... (Fulham, Charlton....)
  12. Yep, supporting the Czechs too, although I'm a Norwegian!! Have been supporting England in the big tournaments, as our national side (up until recently at least) has been playing discustingly boring football!! A lot of my interest in the Czechs lies in the Liverpool connection (Berger, Smicer and now Baros), but most importantly, they are "my" team when playing Pro Evolution Soccer (Playstation 2)!!! At my old football club we used to have big ps2 tournaments,- and I was given the Czechs when we were drawn to each have one of the national sides. This was 4 years ago, and my bond with the Czechs is getting tighter by the hour... Go Vladi and Milan (Koller is of course the big star in virtual world, give him a cross and he'll smash it through the net with a header...) !!! PS! I'm only 30 years old...
  13. Hmmmm... Let's just hope the "rising to 6" isn't depending on goals scored...

  15. Cole as left back!!!! That's bold considering we're talking 20 + years with great players,- tendency is though that full backs are less legendary!! I'm therefore altering the formation criteria to include one more centreback and an attacking midfielder. Schmeichel Lawrenson,Hansen,Campbell Giggs,Keane,Vieira,Barnes Dalglish Rush,Henry Subs: In 4-4-2 Seaman (although tight with Bruce...) Nicol,Pallister,Adams,Irwin Beckham,Gerrard,Souness,Kennedy Owen,Cantona
  16. This idea is actually old, having been tested for one full season in the top flight here in Norway (1987). Big underdogs Moss FK won that season, having the enigmatic Nils Arne Eggen (Rosenborg BK 1988-2003) as their manager. The Rosenborg team went on winning the Norwegian title in the next 14 seasons (out of 15- Viking Stavanger won in -91), but in the year with penalty shoot-outs they finished 5 or 6 i think, losing most of their shoot-outs... Here in Norway, all the head coaches are against it, claiming (as some of you have said above) that it will lead to negative tactics, and teams playing for 0-0... Just thought you would like to know that this actually has been tested (and then rejected...) However the same man that suggested this, Mr Tom Schancke (also the man responsible for bringing Liverpool to Oslo for many pre-season friendlies), was the first to come up with the backpass rule idea... No matter what, Houllier will surely be wetting his lips with this idea spinning round in his not so wise head.
  17. Have to agree with Tom R that Cisse's biggest asset is his pace, he's definitely quicker than Owen(even 98/99/00/01-Owen!!) and Pongolle. As for Henry, I think he's on the same level, then again, Henry is the quickest forward in the world imo.
  18. Not showing here in Norway (where Canal + normally (dis)satisfies the colony of Norwegian reds)....
  19. "I don't mean this as having a pop at you, you obviously can't go all the games from Norway but I think you can only appreciate players off the ball movement and creating space etc... when you are there" ...and that was exactly my point/reason for my post... Glad to hear that you have confidence in him, let's hope he proves you right.
  20. Hi! I'm a Norwegian Red, this is my first post on this great forum/website! Having seen the better part of this season's games on TV, I would like one or more of you to comment on the following...: 1. Is M.O able to run full speed for more than 10 yards? (after all the hamstring injuries; to me it seems like he's not able to/daring to go 100%. Either that, or he's become slower...) 2. Has the incident/accident his girfriend suffered affected his play recently, or is he just not match-fit following his injury recovery? 3. Is he working as hard as you would like? To me he seems a lot less interested in making runs without the ball, he uses too much time getting out of off-side position, and hardly ever puts pressure on defenders these days I know most of you love Michael Owen for what he has done for us over the last few years,- but I for one am starting to question his fitness and desire... I just hope this is a phase (e.g his girlfriends accident), and that we will see the real M.O back soon,- cause we need him badly... PS! Is it just me, or are Liverpool players generally slower returning from injuries,- and less prepared as well?? Being a footballer myself, I know that you often lack that sharpness the first few weeks,- but having seen Redknapp, Fowler, Barnes, Owen etc returning from serious, - but not career-threatening injuries and then compare them to the comebacks of Larsson, Pires, K**ne and van Horseface over the last few years, it seems we have some way to go in the physio/treatment area as well...
