  1. Pathetic Code, you really are clueless. Hodgson was 37 years into his management career and achieved the square root of fuck all meaningful. He annoyed the fans and his tactics were stuck in the 70's. I really think deep down your comparing him to Rafa.
  2. I get the point that he hasn't got anything in his cabinet that we can point at that will give us some solace and put us at ease. Hiring Rodgers was a massive gamble but he cannot be judged yet. The squad has been decimated, rightly in my eyes, because of the millions been spent on wages for players who contribute nothing. It needed culling and there are still high earners on the books contributing very little, Carragher, Cole, Downing, etc. That isn't Rodgers fault. FSG sanctioned a war chest for Kenny which didn't work out, do you really think they would allow something like that to happen again? No they are going to build slowly and gradually. After Chelsea the run of games should start seeing us pick up wins, after Jan we should see some attacking talent compliment Rodgers philosophy. A philosophy that needs good players for it to work. If after all this we are still sat looking at the same points return per game, then is the time to start looking at the situation.
  3. Yet he has preached his 4-3-3 since he came, but realised in the derby we were getting overrun, so changed to 3-5-2 at half time. Did that not change the course of the game? A game we would of won if the linesman didn't shit himself? Is that not a sign of his willingness to change in the face of the glaring obvious??
  4. And this season could look even better come may. The biggest plus is, like Rafa, Rodgers looks like he can effect a game once it's underway. Something Kenny could not.
  5. Sadly my father passed away a few weeks ago and I am hoping to spread his ashes at Anfield. I have been trying to contact the club regarding this but to no avail. Does anyone know who I should try to speak to at the club?? Does the club still allow this to happen?? Any advice or contact details would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance if anyone can help.
  6. some people on here need to get a fucking grip. the result was massively frustrating and you know why? because we dominated and thoroughly deserved to win. the whole notion that we have been papering of the cracks the last 3 games is stupid, we deserved to win today and with better luck the scoreline would of reflected the performance. don't get me wrong we were not superb but neither were stoke and they are the kind of team where it takes a scrappy hard thought performance to beat them, we did everything right apart from take our chances. people mention chelsea, city, utd will stick3 or 4 past them, chelsea drew 0-0 on the 1st day of the season and were far worse than us, stoke have lost once at home in the last year. you are never ever going to get a vintage, free flowing, attacking perforance against a team like stoke, to beat them takes a lot of physical effort and i thought we matched them on that side of the game and deserved to win. 69% possesion, 11 shots on goal, says it all. there was very little wrong with our performance today, a lot of the scrappiness is due to the way stoke set up and deploytherir anit football tactics.
  7. myp2p.eu is down which is the website I usually use for streams. can anyone PM me any other websites I can use for today's game???
  8. why does buying young automatically mean we are only buying potential?? there are plenty of under 26's out there who are either world class or bordering on world class. suarez is a perfect example of fsg's approach, young but already has a level of quality that easily good enough for this league. would people not argue the likes of mata and agureo etc are bordering being world class??? every young signing doesn't need to be raw potential like hensdrson, or wickham etc. looking at younger players doesn't automatically mean looking at potential, some are already good enough to improve us. I would rather spend 35 million on Carroll who already has a decent level of ability and will get better, than 30 million on a shevchenko who's best days are past him. what kind of loss did chelsea make on that transfer???
  9. Voted war chest. We will have 40 million that isn't going on interest payments, and our net spend in Jan was zero. This is the 1st transfer window for FSG that has actually been planned where we can chase our targets. In jan commolli and kenny would of been pre-occupied with th el cunto transfer. We could easily have around 100 million, and I think there is going to be one transfer of someone of immense quality, such as a Mata or an Agureo. I hope anyway!!!
  10. I don't normally post, but I am a long time lurker. Just checked my info and 40 posts since 2003, is that some sort of lurking record?? But the negativity on this thread is unbelievable. People moaning and crying like spoilt children. To suggest that we will only be challenging for 5th/6th with spurs if we get our reported targets is just plain stupid. We finished 6th last season, a season which included the comical genius of hodgson, the club been ripped apart and having to go to the high court for us to finally rid ourselves of cancer and aids, the disruption (although positive) of the take over and managerial change, the el cunto transfer saga and then then the long term injuries to carra, gerrard, agger etc. Taking all this into account we still finished 6th, and we had a very outside chance of 4th with 5 games to go. If you just removed all of this disruption and the dalglish/clarke factor for a full season on our current squad we would surely be 9-12 pts better off?? Add to this all of our reported targets been bought our team/squad WILL be better and you could maybe argue the 9/12 pts could easily be around the 18-20 pts mark? The point I am making is we will be far better next season even without any signings due to Dalglish, no disruptions, and the very positive atmosphere around then club. Take into account 5-6 signings of our known targets and I honestly believe we will be very strong challengers for champs lge and we could maybe even push further.
  11. come on people, we weren't as bad as we all tought we were in the league last year, with a better mix of luck, finishing, and team selection we could of easily had 6-8 pts more than what we finished with, think about wigan home, villa home, spurs home, birmingham home, man city away, chelsea home, all these games we deserved to win, do this next year and not give the mancs their usual 6 pts and we will be somewhere close.
  12. how about a simple, EUROPEAN CUP FREE ZONE when we are at stamford bridge next season??
