  1. He's an arrogant bullshit merchant and needs to fuck off now.
  2. How this fraud is still in a job is just a disgrace on these clueless owners.
  3. Rodgers has got rid of all the personalities and leaders from the dressing room, leaving us with a timid squad with Henderson captain, Milner vice captain the type of yes men workhorses that Rodgers loves. Or timid characters like Lallana or Joe Allen with Dejan 'leader' Lovren at the back. He doesn't want anyone at the club who'll challenge him, or anyone at the club who's achieved more in the game than him. It's left us with a mess of a squad of committee signings he won't play or his own signings that are generally Southampton level. That being said Gerrard needed to move on. His legs had gone and he said he didn't want to be a squad player when he announced he was leaving. He couldn't start three games a week when he was having to pace himself through 90 minutes of football which meant he was often out of games for large periods and when sat deeper he couldn't do the basics like track runners. We didn't have the capacity to carry that.
  4. Surely the 2-0 at Sunderland with Swansea was a better defeat? “It is great for the public here at Sunderland to see us,” said manager Brendan Rodgers. “They must have been wondering what this team everyone is talking about are all about and now they have seen. We were wonderful.
  5. Brendan didn't want anyone on his staff who've won anything in coaching, let alone players of Carragher or Gerrard's status. He's way too insecure for that. FWIW I think Carragher and Gerrard would be best cutting their teeth somewhere else if they wanted to get into coaching or management. there's no point learning from a manager who's still got it all to learn himself.
  6. Hodgers wants revenge for our defeat at Old Trafford last season. “It was probably the best defeat I’ve ever had,” Rodgers said. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/rodgers-eyes-liverpool-revenge-return-10038023
  7. He was a bit crap. Everything Poland did going forward was bypassing him.
  8. Surely mastermind knew exactly how he'd fit in when he made him his number 1 target to sort our attack. Then again probably not.
  9. The key components for now are what we do with Milner and Henderson, what we do with Coutinho and Firmino and what we do with Benteke. Rodgers seems to have the uncanny knack of stunting them all by playing Milner and Henderson as a midfield two (Milner is not a CM, Henderson is not a sitting midfielder); Coutinho and Firmino in ill-suited rules and then not knowing how to get the best out of Benteke. Henderson, Milner and Coutinho would work in a diamond with Can. Henderson and Milner can press higher up the pitch in wider positions (what they're actually good at doing) and Coutinho can play at the tip of it and link the midfield to the attack. The formation isn't really the issue, it's what you're asking players to do on and off the ball.
  10. Problem is, 4-4-2 diamond is the only thing we've really got the players for due to awful transfer strategy and a manager who hasn't got the capacity to plan anything but dodgy dossiers to fool gullible Americans. We could play 4-2-3-1 and still be asking for trouble because the front four (Coutinho, Firmino, Benteke and Lallana/Ibe) aren't going to offer much protection to Henderson and Milner who are not sitting midfielders anyway. And if you want Sturridge in the team then you have to play 2 up top with him and Benteke. A 4-4-2 diamond can also lead to more of a midfield 3 if you have Can or Lucas deepest with Milner and Henderson at the side and Coutinho at the tip. That's the only way we can get a midfield that works. Problem then is Firmino, Benteke or Sturridge will have to sit it out when all fit.
  11. We've got the squad and budget to have a proper go at the Europa League. Not with our staff.
  12. Vorm, Neil Taylor, Lovren, Ashley Williams, Ben Davies, Britton, Allen, Lallana, Dempsey, Ince, Benteke,
  13. So is Neil Warnock's. We need top level experience. Particularly for Europe. Pako and Meulensteen have won European Cups as coaches. O'Driscoll won a play off once (just like the manager). If Rodgers had any real experience or know how then we wouldn't need top coaches.
  14. When the fixture list came out people pointed to all those tough away games but assumed we'd win all the home ones. After the shambles of the last home game of last season when Palace wiped the floor with us, we needed to put a marker down with good performances against Bournemouth and West Ham to accompany 6 points. That would have helped settle things. Instead we've been just as poor in both games and not scored (a bogus goal and a good one disallowed for them saw us steal 3 points against Bournemouth) so the home crowd will feel just as despondent as they did at the end of last season. Away from home we were dross at Stoke in a terrible game but Coutinho scored from nothing, so it was a really good result. Arsenal was a decent result and performance but they scored a legit goal and how would we have responded to that given the collapse at the Emirates last season as soon as we went behind? I think we'll raise our game and put in performances in these big away games coming up, but how many goals or points we get is another matter. I thought we played well at City early last season but it didn't stop us going 3-0 down (and City weren't even playing well). At Anfield I think it'll be a drag, although we usually stuff Norwich at least and Carlisle and the Europa League 'should' be an opportunity for a few decent wins and performances, so momentum can be built. The problem with Rodgers is whenever we start to build momentum it goes to his head and we just bottle it again whenever we look like achieving something. He's got the uncanny knack of putting his mouth in his mouth as well, as the praising of Lovren before West Ham showed again.
  15. Everyone knows Rodgers should have gone after the 6-1 and the shambles of the season generally, but the final nail in the coffin was the fact he blew his second chance over the summer. Marsh and Pascoe were seemingly yes men who Rodgers placed little value in beyond that. Rodgers was made to get rid of them but he could have got a top coach in. Rodgers hasn't got a clue tactically - he's completely clueless. But Rene Meulensteen and Pako Ayesteran do and he could have got one of them in to help him. His arrogance and insecurity wouldn't allow anyone on his staff who's ever actually fucking won anything as a coach so it was let's get lower league journeyman O'Driscoll in who's achieved less than Rodgers and Gary Mac (great player but done nothing as a coach and a failed manager) to placate the fans. And he's still behaving like a twat by cutting his nose off to spite his face by waging war on all the committee buys while giving every chance to the garbage he bought like Lovren and Lallana to try and prove himself right. Not to mention blowing the budget on Benteke after saying he doesn't want a target man and not having a fucking clue how to set the team up and how to play around Benteke.
  16. He's completely clueless and makes it up as he goes along. At some point in the season he'll eventually, by the law of averages, come up with something that works and it'll work until it gets figured out and then it's back to the drawing board again because he's not capable of evolving and tweaking. He hasn't got a clue what to do once he gave up on the possession game, so it's a constant game of trial and error. "he's still learning" doesn't cut it anymore though and never did for me because he's not managing some no mark club. He tried all out attack but I think the Chelsea/Palace games at the end of that season has killed his confidence as a coach with the way those turned out. since then he's tried, and failed, to tighten up at the back and without Suarez we've been blunt in attack. All he used to go on about was possession football and moved away from it because he couldn't implement it effectively, just like he couldn't at Reading when they binned him off. Martinez had already implemented Swansea's possession game and every manager has done well there since.
  17. A bunch of bullshit and those gullible fools fell for it. Just like in the summer when Brenton blamed everyone but himself for last season.
  18. He'd be a lot better when babysat to the extent he was at Southampton but he's still not a good defender. Our previous left sided centre halves were Hyypia and Agger. Agger when fit and match sharp was a class act. Hyypia was one of our great defenders. Lovren's not fit to lace their boots, let alone Carragher either. And mastermind paid 20 million for the fucking idiot. Even Sakho is a far superior defender but Rodgers didn't sign him.
  19. Rodgers trying to bin pretty much all the committee signings to try and prove some kind of point. If only Lovren was signed by the committee rather than that arrogant no mark.
  20. 4-4-2 diamond suits best the players we have. If the dickhead had a clue what he was doing in the transfer market (or tactically) then he'd have bought players that could fit into his favoured formations rather than just stacking the squad up with central attacking midfielders.
  21. Shit signing in the first place from Bren "he'll excite the fans" Rodgers, but we're just replacing one unremarkable striker who won't play in Borini for another in Ings. If we can get £10m from Borini for a Premier League club we could have got decent money for Lallana or Lovren this summer to try and rectify the fuckwittery of wasting £45m, but the arrogant wanker wants to prove a point at our expense.
  22. The game on Saturday showed he's not learnt a thing from last season and we're theh same disjointed mess with no guidance from the bench. It took a huge slice of luck to beat Bournemouth after an awful performance and we scored from our only real shot at Stoke. That's fine when you're winning but not 3-0 at home West Ham. United and Chelsea losing just makes it all the more infuriating.
  23. I hate seeing us lose but when we were 5-0 down at Stoke after 40 minutes I consoled myself with the realization that he can't possibly keep his job after this and then again at full time. Soon after it was starting to become clear that he managed to bullshit his way into keeping his job and we were about to write off another season and a shit load of money. A heavy defeat at Old Trafford will make no odds if those last 10 games of last season culminating in the Stoke shambles didn't.
  24. Rodgers hasn't got the patience, or ability, to develop players. As soon as a player shows a weakness in his game he just fucks them off. Unless he signed them of course in which case he'll make himself look a complete idiot in the vain hope he'll be proved right eventually (exhibit A, calamity Lovren). Shelvey was also made to look worse by playing as an attacking mid and didn't seem to know what he was being asked to do. He's clearly best playing a deeper midfield role and given license to get on the ball and spread the play. He rarely got the chance to do that under Rodgers and was quickly fucked off.
  25. If he'd actually buy players that fit the system he wants to play then it might actually work but every year he's completely clueless. I said it over the summer, "what formation is he buying these players to play in?" because if it's 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 we haven't got the players for play either. We haven't got the width for 4-3-3 unless Ibe starts every week and we haven't got the CM options for 4-2-3-1 as Milner and Henderson are not sitting midfielders. It has to be a midfield diamond with Firmino off Benteke until Sturridge is fit and then he's got to leave someone out or the pieces just don't fit. It won't be easy to fit Sturridge, Benteke, Coutinho and Firmino into the same side. Firmino was another luxury signing when a top CM was more of a priority to balance the side. He packs the squad out with number 10's and then tries to play 4-3-3 and wonders why we can't break teams down and look so unbalanced, but he can't play a midfield two either because he's never strengthened the midfield properly. We haven't got a Fernandinho or Mascherano next to a Toure or an Alonso who can dominate a midfield.
