VAR should in principle be a good thing. An instrument to obtain fair and correct decisions. Instead VAR is used as a tool for PGMOL to back their own decisions, no matter if they're right or wrong, The number of wrong decisions has't gone down. VAR's slowing the game down and kills the momentum with no upside in terms of correcting wrong decisons. Get rid!

Apparently Taylor was in his right to use "common sense” when Gakpo could've scored. Hooper/England could not use "common sense” when Luis Diaz scored a legitimate goal. Then they had to stick with the original decision When the ref gave McAllister a yellow card VAR intervened and gave him a red. A neutral panel later had to decide it was not a red card after all. Other times they don’t interfere because they can’t interfere unless it’s a clear and obvious error. It’s just a mess where they back each other actions with whatever excuse they can come up with. Sometimes it has to be clear and obvious, other times not. Sometimes refs are allowed to use common sense other times not.
