  1. who we are? you know Liverpool Football Club, the club who have won 5 european cups, 18 league titles and 7 FA Cups, beating Bolton to go up to 12th is not a great result its disgusting that we should be in that position in the first place, having centre backs who can handle strikers who have scored 38 goals in between them in the last 3 years is not an achievment, we are playing the worst football I have ever seen from a Liverpool side with a clueless manager but apparently to some this is acceptable?
  2. Last Friday I got a girl kitten from the Cattery on County Road near where I live who is 12 weeks old for company for my older cat who is a year old. I paid £70 for the kitten which on the stipulation of rehoming her covered her fees to be speyed, microchipped and her jabs over the course of the next few months. There were six other cats there in the cattery along with the kitten I acquired. The kitten was brought here on Friday and she seemed okay, a little bit underweight for my liking but even so. She seemed quite happy at first for the first couple of days when you only had to touch her head for her to start purring until Sunday afternoon when she seemed to change in an instant without any previous heed or warning and became very lethargic and listless, not eating or drinking her food and water despite eating reasonably well in the first day or two and just sitting there with her head bowed down and just generally down in herself. My girlfriend took her the vets on Monday morning which was free of charge as part of the stipulation of rehoming her also that if she is ill in the first two weeks of rehoming her with us. They gave her a few needles and a dose of anti-biotics via needle also. Her situation didn't improve Monday afternoon and night and I was awoken at 4am this morning to her trying to poop in my other cats litter tray but without any food there was nothing there to come out. We had been feeding her water through a plastic syringe to at least keep some fluids in her body while she wasn't eating or drinking. My girlfriend took her back to the vets this morning as she had shown no improvement in the preceeding 24 hrs who then advised to refer her to their other branch in Wavertree where they have now placed her on a drip to help her fight the virus that they think she has in this ''Panleukapenia''. I have done a bit of reading up on the said virus and it doesn't seem hopeful for her as kittens tend to die from the virus more often than not apparently according to various internet sites. I am extremely angry for various reasons. Mainly because the Cattery sold us the cat whilst she probably had this virus with sharing litter trays etc with other cats at this cattery who are sadly probably all infected with the virus. If we didn't have our other cat vaccinated then that Cattery's negligence with this could have affected my other cat who thankfully seems okay at present. I can't see any other explanation for it. My elder cat who we have had for a year almost certainly isn't a carrier as she has had all her jabs even though she is due for a booster jab anytime now and we would have noticed symptoms anyway. That surely means the Cattery sold us the cat with the virus already but I don't understand why it took two days to flare up. Why didn't she show the symptoms prior to that on the first night we got her? Very confused and angry with it all. Surely the Cattery are guilty of negligence here? The little kitten is currently as I say on a drip in a vet in Wavertree and the vet have said she could die but didn't state she would definitely. I am assuming they will be giving her anti-biotics and fluids to help keep her going. Has anybody elses cat on here had this virus? Even if they had to be put to sleep please just say. Are there many success stories of kittens or cats recovering and leading a healthy life? I read that if she survives the first five days of the symptoms showing she has a better chance of living? Any help on this would be much appreciated. Both with advice on the kitten and advice on how we would be best to speak to the Cattery about this who's cats they have in residence there must surely all have this virus as it is apparently very contageous.
  3. Mypost remembers how we've done on opening day over our recent history. In 1985, our first game of an historic season ended with a 2-0 home win over Arsenal. 2 years later, there was a rare win at their place as Aldridge, Beardsley, and Barnes made their debut. Despite Aldridge scoring early on, it wasn't until Nicol's long-range header late on that sealed the win. In 88, we stayed in London for a solid 3-0 win over newly promoted Charlton. 21 years ago in 1989 saw some changes to Anfield. Despite losing an early goal, we went on to beat City at our place 3-1. Gone were the fences at the Kop, and the split 50/50 support at the Annie Road End swapped sides, and remains the case today. 1990 saw us off to another promoted side in Sheffield Utd. Reserve goalkeepers were allowed on the subs bench, and after their keeper got himself sent off early on, it was time for one to be pressed into action. Except their boss selected 5 outfield players instead. We took advantage and won 3-1. 1991 saw Macca's first game, while still a teenager. Newly promoted Oldham were seen off 2-1 at our place. 1993 saw a great start to the season, and with no European action to distract us, 12 points from the first 5 games promised much despite losing at home to Spurs for the last time. On opening day however, 2 goals from Nigel Clough saw off Sheffield Wednesday at home. After finishing 8th that season, we were written off as title contenders before the 94-95 season begun. A 6-1 thrashing of Palace at Selhurst Kip on opening day, made some think again. Molby, Macca, and Rushie helped themselves. We won the League Cup, Palace were relegated as the league was reduced to 20 teams. 95 saw Collymore arrive on the scene, and make his impact as a goal halfway through the second half saw off Sheffield Wednesday at home again. Despite scoring the first goal of the season from Stig Bjornebye, we couldn't handle Ravanelli and his hattrick stopped us from winning at Middlesbrough in a 3-3 draw up there in 96. 2 days later, we hosted our first ever Monday night Sky game after 4 years in a 2-0 win over Arsenal. After a scrappy 1-1 draw at Wimbledon in 97, 98 saw Riedle and Owen win the game at Southampton coming from behind. 1999 started early and with another opening day date with Wednesday, this time at their place. Our last away game there finished in a 2-1 win. However, on this weekend 11 years ago, we were brought down to earth with a cruel bump, losing at home to Watford. It was Watford's only away win of the season. By the end of September, 2 more home defeats were added to the list. But it wasn't all bad. Houllier took us from a non-European 7th spot the previous summer, to the brink of a CLQ place that season. 2000 saw the first home game on opening day for 5 years, as Heskey rifled home a winner at home to Bradford. It heralded a treble-winning season for us, and the start of Bradford's path to relegation. 2001 saw another first day at home to West Ham. In the pouring rain, a tight game was settled by a late Owen 2-1 winner. Over the recent years, trips to Villa have been known for been played in August. Riise's winner in 2002 bagged a 1-0 win. It was the first away trip of the following year, but then Chelsea had to be negotiated first. Unfortunately it failed in our last home game on opening day for 7 years. 2004 saw us first up on the first Saturday at Spurs. New signing Djibril Cisse scored the first goal of the season, only for us to lose the lead in a 1-1 draw. 2005 saw another draw at Boro again, this time ending 0-0. 06 saw us head off to Sheffield again, to play United. A controversial late peno from God rescued a point and as noone else had played until later on, the 1-1 draw put us top of the table. 2007 saw us back to Villa again, and Torres' league debut. Ref. Riley had gone to Specsavers that week and saw Carra's handball late on giving Villa a late equaliser. Gerrard rescued him and the team with a stunning late free kick to win the game, as our fans were evicted from behind the goal and shunted into a tiny corner of the ground. Steve made a beeline for them to celebrate. 2008 saw us off on the road again, and a poor game at Sunderland was livened up by Torres late powerful drive in another win. This year, we're back to where we started, with a home game against Arsenal. Whether it's the first game or the last game of the season, they all count the same on the league table. But while one win won't define a league season, a good start is vital to build momentum for the rest of the season, every season.
  4. I`m thinking about buying a new car and so far I think I will end up with an Audi TT. I like the design and I`m familiar with Audi`s as I drive an Audi A3 now. But then there are some question, what kind of transmission should I go for and what about the engine? Anyone tried the diesel engine? If I end up buying this car I think will go for a coupe as I need some more space than what the roadster will give me and I also like the design better. All comments and suggestions will be appreciated.
  5. Arsenal finsihed a whopping 18 points behind the winners last season. With nine games reamining of the current season, they´re one point behind the leaders and favourites to win the whole shebang. Sit still in the boat folks or you will take us all down. Get a life oustide of football if you have to.
