  1. Aye, I can remember 98 in the Cabbage for the Argentina game and the place was bouncing - dancing on the tables when it went to pens. But, nobody seemed arsed when we got beat - I pretty much shrugged and went to the bar. Hodgson made me actively dislike them - but aside from him I have been relatively ambivalent about them, but this year I would enjoy them getting beat. I'm not into Scotland doing well - I find them just as annoying as England fans to be honest.
  2. I'd love Gravenbach - but not sure how much truth is in any of the rumours. Still not sold on Sancho - for a club in our current position, we could get a lot more value from looking elsewhere. Ikone and Daka, Mallen and Boadu, Brandt and Bailey, any number of choices will cost a lot less than £80m and a lot less than circa £300k a week in wages. And I trust Klopp to improve anyone who we do end up with.
  3. Reality is starting to bite isn't it? They are Ian Beale after Mel left him - and they are going to end up with Sharon! Ancelotti next choice.
  4. That is it in a nutshell. This gave him the licence to be a selfish cunt in 2002 and the FA were to busy counting the money.
  5. England should have won in 2002 - but they were more interested in Brand Beckham and the Asian market. You play against 10 man Brazil, you have no left midfield/winger - you have the best crosser in the world and his indiscipline means he is constantly 2 yards from the centre trying to be the star. They let it happen because he was the big super star. 2004 was another good chance, but they were unlucky there. 2006 would have been interesting as the team who got to the final were not fancied before hand. They just do everything wrong - we focus upon the individuals not the team, even now - Kane, Kane, Kane. The Germans with our team would win this tournament.
  6. England still gets a decent following - there is a difference between actively not supporting England and supporting them but not giving a shit when they lose. I tend to fall into the latter, but since the Void shite - I am more in the 'fuck em' camp. I'm not in the ABE camp as I don't care enough about anyone to be so. If VVD was fit I'd be supporting Holland, but I'll probably support my bet.
  7. Fucking fun sponge. What else am I supposed to do now that the footie has finished?
  8. Can't wait now. Football with no care as to who wins.
  9. Yep. Just like you went from 'FSG are cruising for the next 30 years' to 'they're lining their own pockets'. I'm done. Not discussing this anymore.
  10. So how the fuck are you paying for all these £80m squad players you want? All this 'investment' nonsense is just that. You seem to want them to spend millions each year but not look to maximise earnings! We all fought against the ESL because it wasn't that important. What do you want owners (not just ours) to do? Unless you make £100m a year profit you can't spend £100m a year.
  11. I think not living through a Pandemic is one as well! Anyone who thinks over £100m in losses is to be ignored is not to be taken seriously. Some fans want us to be like City and Chelsea, they just don't have the balls to say it.
  12. We always ignore that big splurge in 2011 that led to a league cup. Stewart Downing, Charlie Adam and a whole host of shite. They've learned from then - and by and large nailed it these past few years. It was them who bought Coutinho as well. He didn't just come into existence.
  13. £30m? Where does that figure come from? The same place you plucked 'we need Sancho'? 2017 we bought - Mo, Ox, Robbo for about £80m. Which of course is £30m in todays money. Its a bollocks argument, based on nothing with no thought or intellect behind it.
  14. Again. Not what I said. You felt that was an important issue when it was you who was misquoted. I'd be happy with Daka and/or Ikone. But that would be FSG cruising I guess.
  15. It is also perfectly acceptable to think that that is nonsense. I'd love them to 'hold us back' again in the next 3 years.
  16. Okay you never. So I apologise for that, but that is how your post read. Accusing FSG cruising on a few cups the next 30 years - if we didn't buy Sancho.
  17. You don't play for Liverpool. I don't think moaning about not buying Sancho is equivalent to a motivation technique to endure league winners don't take their foot of the gas and lose focus. And, i didn't suggest we stay as we are. So you are arguing against what I didn't say. There is a huge difference in demanding we sign Sancho as proof of seriousness and leaving things as they are. Buying Daka is that.
  18. No. You have just spend the last two pages dismissing our achievements and the current team to make your point about Sancho. As I said. What we 'need' is not Sancho. What you want is Sancho.
  19. We reached 2 championsnleague finals then won the league. We are different, I don't compare us to a club owned by a country. And he ain't going to City. I like our model. It has proven successful. I also don't dismiss our achievements these past years so I can complain about a player who may or may not amount to anything. Sancho doesn't get in our side. And the only way you can counter that is by shitting on the current team to make your point.
  20. We didn't keep up with City. We left them in our wake. Mo has been near the top of the scoring charts for 4 years.
  21. You are talking about spending £80m on a player who isn't starting for us. Got a chance of what? Winning the league? Winning the Champions league? We've done both of them and built a team competing at the highest level for 3 years without signing a vanity sideshow. We spent on VVD and Alison and they are the best in the world. Nothing I have seen from Sancho suggests he is getting to that level in the next few years. Our model is Mane and Mo, and the proof of the pudding is in the eating. United need to spend £80m on Sancho, we don't. They'll benefit from spending that amount next season - we won't. All this talk about what 'we need' is just arrogant nonsense. We have won the league, we've clearly not 'needed' anything. You may like something else - but that is on you - but we don't 'need' it. An evolution in the squad is fine for us at the moment. Maybe if some of our fans appreciated the world class talent up front we wouldn't be losing our shit because we are not getting an overpriced Chris Waddle.
  22. We have Mo! Therefore we don't need to spend £80m on cover.
  23. Who are Everton? Not Liverpool. What are Everton? Not Liverpool.
  24. Why? Is that why we bought Robertson, Salah, Mane, Firmino, Gini, Gomez, Coutinho? What is it about those players that Eddie Howe affected? The £40m we got from Bournmouth is nothing compared to the £140 we got for Coutinho. Do you not get bored trying to shoehorn criticism of FSG into ever single thread?
