  1. I don't know if it's been posted but it's good for a laugh. I wanted to see what Galaxy fans thought of welcoming one of the greatest players to play the game to their team. It really is laughable, I especially love the fact they think the MLS is not far off the Prem. http://forums.bigsoccer.com/threads/steven-gerrard-in-the-blue-and-gold.2015296/
  2. So is Mario definitely a Rodgers signing and not a committee signing?
  3. Not. Lille need to agree. They won't.
  4. Possibly. Maybe he'll feel less pressure when everyone isn't relying solely on him for goals. They have been dismal performances, but he's been up top on his own. He looked decent when playing with Strurridge,
  5. He needs another striker along side him. He's wank on his own.
  6. I wonder what will happen to him when big Divock gets here.
  7. We just missed out on 14m offer for Borini. That's a fantastic fee in my eyes, though granted it will drop if he doesn't play this season. Lallana is not talentless, judging him after 6 games in a new team is beyond retarded. The same can be said for Balotelli(though I hold less hope for him).
  8. Apparantly stormed out the ground when he found out he was dropped.
  9. He needs someone up top with him, and not Borini. He looked very good playing with Sturridge. He needs someone in front of him. The only time I seen him run behind the defence was earlier in the season when he layed the ball off to Sturridge and then made a clever run behind, but Sturridge decided to shoot. I think he'll be very good when Sturridge gets back. He's not a lone wolf.
  10. Genius. Ayre's finally starting to show his worth.
  11. Why have we not announced him signing if he's training with us?
  12. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VlTUcXGhwB4 There had to be something.
  13. From the youtube videos I've seen he looks rapid and looks like he can play. Hopefully he can be as good as Jovanovic.
  14. Arsenal's model was to not release funds in back into the team. FSG put all of Torres' money back in the team and are widely expected to put all of the Suarez money back in the team. Stop banging on about the Arsenal model, we're not following it to a T. We were closer to the Arsenal model under H + G.
  15. With the timing, it sort of looks like getting Markovic was dependent on Suarez leaving.
  16. In terms of consistency, Lallana is quite a big improvement on Coutinho. Don't get me wrong, I love Coutinho, he was one of the only consistents in my dream team last year(albeit mainly on price). But I watched him so many times do nothing but show up and play a part. Lallana was one of, if not, the stand out player(s) nearly every game for Southampton. That's the main thing, Coutinho needs to be more consistent. I don't think there's a better way to help achieve that then to give him a visual target to beat. I have not doubt Coutinho can be better than Lallana, but I don't think he is at this moment. I'd happily pay 25m to have a consistent 7/10 minimum performer on the pitch, and if it helps Coutinho push on to perform every game then it's a bargain, because I think he has the world at his feet. But I don't think it helps if he thinks he's nearly a dead cert to start. If I was in his shoes and had a bad game, and I was dropped for someone like Moses, I'd know it'd only be a matter of time before I'm back in there. Swap Moses for Lallana and I'd fight my bollocks off to get back in.
  17. I know Suarez is gone, I've expected it. A small part of me wants it as long as we get a fair deal. But why is the consensus that if the "clause" is met, he's gone? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ykJ4Rvko2cE I personally don't mind. I trust Henry and Rodgers. Even if Henry doesn't give a shit about Liverpool I know he gives a shit about success, and while he's our owner he's working to maximize the value of our squad and club. I know people will say "Suarez is irreplaceable, selling him is detrimental to us gaining success" but it's not. I'm actually an experienced manager. On FIFA I successfully lead Northampton from League 2 to numerous Champions League titles and I can tell you, sentimentality and current best players mean nothing. You always need to plan for the future. Sell players at their peak value. Suarez is at his peak value. Next summer he'll be 28 pushing 29, you're looking at 50m tops. That's a top drawer propsect who you could have for decade, gone for one more season of Suarez. It's time to sell. If he wasn't a loon I may have a different opinion but he's batshit crazy.
  18. I know I'm pessimistic but I just don't don't see us getting Sanchez. I don't think I've I've seen us sign a player of his calibre or standing in world football in my life time. We usually get this sort of player when they're just potential, we help them grow, then they fuck off to Spain once they reach this level. Maybe Torres but I don't think he was rated as highly as Sanchez is right now. If we do though, it says a lot about the direction we're going and Brendan Rodgers. I fucking hope we do.
  19. Time will tell. He's been the the shining light for Southampton who have been overachieving. Pointless comparing his stats for Southampton to players at better clubs. because they have better players surrounding them. Look at Ronaldo, averages more than a goal a game for Madrid but can barely finish his dinner for Portugal so he goes to the press and calls his teammates average. Yes he hasn't been at the top level for long, but it's irrelevent. For every example of a player that's flopped after a good season or two, there's a player who's thrived. It's a lot of money but it's not like a majority think he'll flop. Most people rate him highly. I know defenders last longer than midfielders, but look at United buying Ferdinand. He was 24 and cost about 30m. Factor in inflation and I don't know what that would be at today's rate but no one mentions his price for United. If we get good service out of him for as long as expected then no one will care.
  20. Stick as much money as you can afford on City to beat Everton. If they win you get a nice bit of cash. If you lose then it will be in our hands again. I don't mind losing money if it means the league's in our hands with two games to go.
  21. We better fucking win the league. The amount I'm smoking during these games I'm pretty much nailed on for cancer. I'll be gutted if I get it for nothing.
  22. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZkbN8-nPSM4 I personally think he's talking shit. They've probably had disagreements, but I doubt they're holding off giving him a new contract because of them. They're clueless if so. I reckon Brendan's just holding all the cards. A new contract for the manager who delivered the league after 24 years is going to be a fair bit better than the one given to the manager who returned us to Champions League.
