  1. That's another thing he's achieved for Gerrard to be jealous of.
  2. The striker did 4 keepy-uppys in the box. 4! Bloody hell, we really can't defend.
  3. Well, that was mostly predictable.
  4. Great take from Ings - very unlucky not to make it two!
  5. Bordeaux have got away with quite a few bad fouls in this game without any punishment. I hope we get the same leeway when we're playing at home in this competition.
  6. Adam Lallana scores after a lovely 'meg on the defender. Great finish.
  7. I'm not, 'cos I have a car. But yes, you're right - that would be my route to work and has done enough to engender hatred of buses into me to last a thousand lifetimes. (I took it once and never again. The 44 into town is actually quite pleasant, but isn't really rant quality.)
  8. You can tell you live in Edinburgh. Everyone here loves buses and cycling; it's like a mass psychosis affecting otherwise pleasant people who seriously need to try driving in a normal place for a while. I moved here about 6 months ago and I met the fella in the flat downstairs. He was appalled that I drove my warm, comfortable, sanitary, pleasant car to work rather than cycle uphill both ways through the rain and gale-force wind or sit on the bus next to shit-yourself bagheads through Craigen-fucking-tinny to work. He went so far as to post, through the door, routes to work for both buses and cycling. "The bus service in Edinburgh is so good! The city's made for cycling!" Try driving to work for six months in a decent car with a good stereo and comfy seats whenever you want and then go back to sitting next to some old fella who's shit himself on the bus while listening to some arsehole scream at her spawn somewhere close to the half hour, more-or-less. Or *shudder* getting on the same bus as a...what's the correct word for a collective of school children? A horror? A fucking maelstrom? A shitty-dance-tune-through-shitty-phone-speakers, arguing and fighting, cunt-filled monstrosity smeared in shitty lynx spray to disguise non-existent personal hygiene and an over-active hormone gland? Whatever. Buses are a great idea in principle...but only if there was a minimum level of behaviour. In practice, however, they are fucking awful - too hot in summer, too cold in winter and there's always one arsehole who makes the entire journey a fucking nightmare. Bastards. And all the buses go through Princes Street, which means to get from anywhere to anywhere you have to go through the middle of this over-congested, twat-filled, speed-bumped ant hill for no fucking reason. It's filled with a curious mix of junkies and neds (Pilton, Craigentinny) and want-to-be-southern twats in red trousers and plaited beards (Morningside, Stockbridge). I miss Glasgow, with its reasonably-priced pubs and restaurants and it's sensible grid system. And I fucking hated Glasgow. Trains don't seem to attract quite the same level of wingnut, and I quite like trains. I'm even considering trying the new Borders railway just for fun. But buses? Fuck you, right in the ear. Hard.
  9. It's extremely noticeable how slow we are to break forwards. Everything is overthought and any quick ball out from defence is all-too-soon passed back to the centrebacks to pass around by themselves. It may stroke the ego, but it's completely impotent and infuriating to watch.
  10. Don't think too small - he'd be back too soon. He could throttle Friend and get life in prison. It's about the only way he'll make a £20m contribution to LFC.
  11. Lovren is a fucking clown. Noticeable that even with all the time in the world, no-one could get back in the way of Noble's finish. Absurd.
  12. I think that Rossiter auditioned for that role tonight. A lot of people on here think he did badly; I thought he was OK, but maybe that was in comparison with Ibe who had a stinker. I do think if Lucas goes we'll need a solid, experienced player in the middle of the park. Milner's effect on the team has been fantastic. If we can find another one of those, we're laughing.
  13. I thought Lovren was pretty solid tonight. His partnership with Skrtel has never looked as solid as it did tonight. Aside from when Giroud got across him for Ramsey's cross in the second half, I thought he was very solid playing against one of the league's best attacking teams.
  14. He might never recover if you take him off now. He's on to the end. Saying that, he appears to have caught whatever has been afflicting Markovic. I'd move him up top, bring Benteke off and look for a more defensive option from the bench.
  15. That's as good a save from Mignolet as any from Cech tonight.
  16. Why do keepers always have the best games of their careers against us? WHY???
  17. We could be two or three up here, actually. Really want to see this pressure turned into a decent scoreline. For all that we were worried about Arsenal before the game, the drive from Benteke, Milner, Firmino and Coutinho has been outstanding in forcing Arsenal into errors.
  18. That's the best chance that we've created in the entire game. Unlucky for Benteke that he couldn't get the contact he wanted. Never thought Lallana would finish the rebound when it came back out though.
  19. If Coutinho could score regular, easy-to-medium difficulty goals, he'd get about 50 a season. His movement is phenomenal and his long range strikes can be sublime, but dear god I wish he'd just finish more of the easier chances he gets.
  20. Our periods of possession have been a little sterile, resulting in few chances. Bournemouth are looking to get shots away every time they go forward and we've been lucky with a couple of refereeing decisions. If we go and win this, it won't be all that reassuring; we need to be going out and playing well and winning well against newly promoted teams at home, not scraping by with a lucky decision or two.
  21. Benteke scores his first of many! A bit lucky that Coutinho doesn't get called off though. We got away a bit with the Bournemouth ruled-out goal (we've seen those get let through) and got another break there. Hopefully we can go forward and smash four past these now though.
  22. That was a great tackle from Clyne, and he showed great initiative to burst forward. Sprinting up the line, he played it square and the ball came back to our left back in a center-back position. He was forced into a fast pass which lost possession and then Bournemouth have the ball back in our box. Something notable about 2013/14 was that when we were going forward, we went forward. We didn't stop, pass it square and then give it back to the centre-backs, goalkeeper or defenders. Players seemed to know what to expect as we'd burst forward. It spooked the opposition because they were always scared of getting hurt and so they'd not attack quite as wholeheartedly. I don't believe that was entirely down to Suarez - I don't think that we need Suarez to have a plan going forward that doesn't involve stopping and going backwards.
