  1. Sure it will - they'll pay an extra £35m for it! A seller would rather get that cash in their pocket than pay it out for something that may immediately depreciate in value (and thus not recoup that money in the purchase price).
  2. One of those twenty-five shots wouldn't have been enough. We'd still have lost and deserved to have lost. 3 of our starting 4 CB/CM group may have been out (but Can was on the bench and there's no evidence yet that Matip is in the starting line up), but our biggest problem was a complete lack of penetration. The truth is that our team looked devoid of a plan once they went 1-0 down. Smacking it high and wide from twenty-five yards is not a plan worth having. Sturridge looks finished, our 'creative' players looked confused, our midfield was non-existent and our CBs looked error-prone. None of us know why we're fielding a midfield of Henderson, Wijnaldum and Lallana - they're not terribly creative and they sure as shit can't stop an attack. We've just deservedly lost 2-0 to Burnley, a newly-promoted team whose record signing cost less than we spend on high-risk gambles on couldabeens like Aspas, Balotelli or Markovic. Our manager has said repeatedly that there's no-one available who could approve the squad when the problems there (no LB, no DM) are plain for all to see. It's all very well to shout about staying optimistic and supporting the team, but discontent at the current situation is entirely reasonable. We need to add experienced, solid players in the middle of the park and improve on the players available out wide. Pretending that you can't judge this early in the season is nonsense when you consider that these problems were already apparent four months and £60m ago.
  3. Coutinho has had how may shots that have gone nowhere near? Sturridge looks slower than an Edinburgh bus and I'm not sure that Firmino has touched the ball. We're throwing loads forwards and if we could penetrate teams we'd be 6-2 up. As it is, we've sacrificed any midfield solidity to play a team of attacking midfielders and we've not even looked like forcing their keeper to make a save, let alone scoring.
  4. Fairly certain Huddersfield should have had a couple of reds so far.
  5. You could have their entire team on a stretcher and their loss wouldn't match ours. Divock's better than that club all by himself.
  6. 4-0. Coutinho's shot (deflected by Sturridge?)
  7. He doesn't just stand on him, he grinds onto it. That's a deliberate attempt to break the ankle. He should be done for assault.
  8. Straight red for Funes Mori...ahahahaha!!!!! Edit: actually, he's stood on Origi's ankle. That's a terrible challenge. I hope Origi's OK. That's awful.
  9. To have a 1-0 lead in stoppage time at the end of the first half and still have both centrebacks queuing up at the back post to score another is an indication that Klopp gets the attack-minded attitude that's necessary to succeed in the premier league.
  10. 2-0 Sakho. Incredible finish to the first half!
  11. That's an absolutely phenomenal header actually. A whole head above the centreback and the header goes into the corner of the net where the keeper's got no chance. I'm not sure he had any right to win the ball, let alone make a textbook header once he had.
  12. If we can do something to turn this pressure into goals, they'll crumble. If not, I wouldn't be surprised at one our boys picking up an injury from the over-the-top tackles that are going unpunished.
  13. Firmino couldn't have done much more than that - the defender got back to make a partial block and the keeper gets a bit lucky. As ever, the keeper on the other side having his best game in months when playing against us.
  14. Another possible booking not given. Feels unfair given Milner got a yellow for being run into.
