I'll rather take a chance and approach someone like Higuain/Jese/Morata than Ings. We've tried enough times trying to sign someone from an average club simply because he has done well and scored a few goals in a season. No offence to Burnley as a club, but how many players in their starting XI would fit into ours?
Arsenal are showing how one player can be the cog to the entire team. They failed last season with Ozil, but Sanchez is proving to be the Suarez in their entire team. When Ozil comes back, it might actually get even better for them.
Its time for us to sign a player than transcends the quality of our squad. No more Balotellis, no more hot prospects, no more Carrolls/Ings. We've got enough of talents and hot prospects that we've got to loan them out rather than give them a spot on our bench.
Splash the cash on one player from Bayern/Dortmund/Barca or Real. I'm looking at realistically someone in the Pedro/Illaramendi(?) mold, a player who is top class but has fallen down the pecking order due to someone else arriving at the club. Ozil and Sanchez left for such reasons, and now I'm seriously wondering why we didn't go in for someone like Mandzukic who had done such a great job at Bayern and is currently banging in goals for Atletico.
