  1. jeremy_LFC Srijandeep Das #LFC have had an enquiry for Real Sociedad winger, Antoine Griezmann rebuffed, today evening. Can't fault the management for effort. 3 minutes ago Favorite Retweet Reply
  2. The midfield alarms me more than anything, two fairly lightweight attack minded midfielders protected only by Spearing, he'll have a lot of mopping up to do after Charlie Adam tonight you would think, Adam has been nothing short of terrible the last few weeks.
  3. Wolves team JBcommentator John Bradley Wolves team - Hennessey ; Foley, Johnson, Berra, Ward ; Jonsson, Frimpong ; Kightly, Edwards, Jarvis ; Fletcher

  5. Probably a case of once bitten twice shy for Kenny.
  6. Top priorities in the summer have to be; Creative attacking midfielder Right winger Cover for defensive midfield another striker
  7. If Zamora gets £90k p/w then the sport has further descended into complete and utter lunacy.
  8. I can honestly say I've not seen that today on Twitter/Facebook/various forums/email, bravo for bringing to us fella, I'm sure it will provide plenty of laughs.
  9. Barrios is a good solid centre forward, would enhance our squad and wouldn't cost the Earth, wages or fee.
  10. Might see Johnson playing left back tonight to give Enrique a (much needed) rest, Shelvey might also start in place of Henderson as well.
  11. Not that I wanna see the club throwing money around with wild abandon, just for the sake of it, I have to say I'm very disappointed that the transfer window will pass without any signings, when it is clear that a few reinforcements are required. David Pizarro on loan would have been a very shrewd move, he could have filled the Lucas void til the end of the season, as he can play the holding midfield role, as we seem very reliant on Spearing now, and even he is injured at the moment. Could also have done with another striker, even a loan signing, just to tide the squad over til summertime. I find it amazing that no one has come in, although, on the other hand, if KK/DC have tried to sign players they want, and were rebuffed, then I'd be happy that they haven't moved on to sign someone else just for the sake of it. Definitely need a striker/def mid/right winger in the summer though.
  12. Just had a wee read through their matchday thread on Cafe Rouge, and some salient points to note from their sagely collective on the match. 1.Mark Halsey was a homer - Roughly translated, this means that any referee that doesn't fall to his knees and fellate Ferguson, or give every decision their way isn't any use. 2.Liverpool fans are all racists, a few of them claimed to have "always known they were racists" - But the Ji Sung Park chant about eating dogs and the one about Scouse/council houses etc are "great fun", not racist at all it would seem. 3.Andy Carroll was "all over De Gea" for our opening goal, this despite having his back to De Gea, with his eye on the ball, whilst being pushed in the back by the goalkeeper. 4."Gerrard is shit, and our (their) midfield is superior" - so superior in fact, that they had to resign a 37 year old that hadn't played in 7-8 months. They really are the epitome of shithouses, it's hard to find anything to remotely like about them.
  13. Purely hypothetical from my point of view which I neglected to mention in my post, £200k p/w on loan if available for a player of that quality is a no brainer imho, unrealistic or not at this point. I'd love to see him play for us, even if just for 5 months or so.
  14. I can literally see no downside whatsoever to a loan deal, Man City won't have to play us again this season, as we've had our home and away in the Premier League, and they are out of both cups, so if anything, Liverpool having Tevez would actually be of benefit to them, we still have to play Chelsea/Spurs/The Mongrels, so any points we take from them, will be good news to City, and of course some June 30th they'll have a fully match fit player to sell. I see nothing but a mutually beneficial loan move here, Gods knows why so few share this opinion, yes he's a dick, but a very fine player.
  15. Being gay isn't illegal, so why is it so taboo in football?, I know I'd rather have a squad full of gay men at the football club, than a manager like Harry Redknapp illegally syphoning off money to fuel his own greed. Yet the "lads" laud 'arry the "futbawl maigaaa" and give dogs abuse to any footballer alleged to be gay. Read some sickening stuff on football message boards over the years about footballers like Luke Young and Jon O'Shea that were rumoured to be gay. Football as a whole, needs to get with the times, as some aspects of it (such as tolerance of gay footballers) are mired in the dark ages, along with racism being acceptable.
  16. Tevez is an outstanding footballer, high work rate, superb finisher, but also a hugely flawed human being, if a loan deal was possible.......how much damage could he do to dressing room morale (if any) between now and the end of the season? I see parallels between this and the Anelka loan deal 10 years ago, a player we should have moved heaven and earth to sign permanently. Even Thompson and Houllier said his reputation was largely unfounded as he was first class in training etc at Liverpool. Not saying the same is true of Tevez, but it is a shame, as a football fan, to see a footballer that could vastly improve our attacking options without a club to play for presently.
  17. I didn't think he was all that at Blackpool, he scored 13 league goals, of which 11 were penalties, he hasn't impressed me anywhere he's been for that matter in fact. The difference with him and Carroll, is that Carroll was only 21/22 when he signed for Liverpool, burdened with a huge price tag, at a huge club, with probably unrealistic expectation, due to a very unrealistic price tag, but this was after impressing a great deal in his debut season in the Premier League, scoring a lot of goals, and terrorising defences. Charlie Adam, (and people are quite welcome to disagree with me)has been at a big'ish club (Rangers) with big expectations already, and couldn't handle it, when he is in the Liverpool team, he is by and large a passenger, and I have watched him in all of our games, he seems to be always looking for the pinpoint 40 or 50 yard pass (which rarely come off) rather than retention of possession. If Charlie Adam plays, it takes another player in the team, just to mop up his errors, in the absence of Lucas or Spearing he has been brutally exposed, he rarely wins a tackle, and when he does lose the ball, he doesn't have the tactical nous or pace to win it back. If he were a squad player then that would be perfectly alright, but he is at the heart of the Liverpool first XI midfield, and has been a constant for the whole season, Carroll on the other hand, has not been given a good solid run of games. He scored against West Brom, and was dropped, he scored at the Pit, and was dropped, for a young player, this is extremely damaging to his confidence, and while I'm speculating, had be been given a run alongside Suarez at that time, he could have been right among the goals. But we'll never know on that count. And just for the record RE:Adam, he has my full support and has had from day one as a Liverpool player, I've been proven wrong before when I've made negative (based on their previous form at previous clubs) a pre season assessment (Crouch), and I am delighted to be proven wrong, but Adam hasn't really done it for me so far, let's hope he does though.
  18. In Kennys first stint as manager, he had a knack for pulling transfers out of the bag with little media knowledge (lol, media knowledge), I can still remember my unbridled joy when Ian Rush was re-signed from Juventus, would love Kenny to pull off a swoop like that again on deadline day. Cavani would do nicely!
  19. I don't know how anyone could suggest selling a player such as Kuyt at 31 years of age, his fitness levels, work rate, and flat out desire to work for the team, mean that to me at least, he could be a valuable squad member for another 3 years. His uncanny knack of scoring or assisting important goals is a trait that very few players in the game have. I think looking back, his transfer fee was an absolute bargain, in terms of (at the very least) the revenue his important goals have generated for the club, the fact he is such a nice guy, and all this along with the charity work hi,self and his wife undertake, make him a credit, not only to himself, but to Liverpool Football club.
  20. I didn't realise I had benn "negged", probably because I had a pop at Charlie Adam recently, I don't rate him at all you see, some people have taken umbrage to this it would seem, and to think I thought this forum might be a bit different to the totalitarianism of RAWK, it seems some posters on here share some of their beliefs. RE:Carroll, years ago new players at Liverpool were inserted straight into the reserves (well young players anyway) and slowly integrated into the team, I realise that is completely unrealistic now, but the likes of Rush were slaughtered for a fair while after signing, but didn't he prove the dissenters wrong!, now, while I'm not saying Carroll is as good, or ever will be as good as Rush (very few have, or will be) I believe supporting a player, rather than getting on his back is the better option of the two. What point is there in giving a player grief?, he is still a very raw player, even at 23, and his main problems seem to be his lack of tactical awareness, and reading potential passes etc. Selling him now would only result in a huge deficit on his resale, and wouldn't it be galling to see him sold for half of what he cost, and going on to huge success? I know I'd be disappointed, patience seems to be in very short supply with football fans nowadays.
  21. A shame to see De Bruyne go to that shower of shite, looks like a top player in the making, why don't Liverpool sign that sort of foreign talent for that price?
  22. I haven't been nearly as critical of Carroll as others, I have moderate concerns, but then again, I'm of the old school Liverpool fans, from when players were bought, and developed slowly, yes I'm aware the fee is a burden on the lad, and he hasn't been at the top of his game, but come on guys, not many on these forums (ironically called The Liverpool Way) seem to adhere to some of Liverpools older principals of allowing a player to develop and of giving them support, as I can tell you now, if you support a player, they stand a better chance of realising their potential, than if you constantly criticise. I'm not for one minute suggesting Carroll is a £35m player, the fee was massively inflated due to transfer window and nationality, but with proper coaching, both mentally and physically, he could be a massive asset. I'd rather adopt a "wait and see" policy, with regards the fella.
  23. When you see a free transfer like Bellamy performing like he has been doing, it makes it all the more earth shatteringly brainless, that the club would shell out such a fee on such a raw and ultimately average player. If Liverpool would have bided their time and waited til the summer and still bought him, they would have saved a fair bit of money. To think Falcao went for the same price in the summer!
