Anybody heard of this link with Charlie Austin from Burnley? To be honest I didnt even know of him or even heard of him in all fairness, was suprised because his goal return is boss. Fuck knows how i wernt onto him. 19 goals already this season in all competitions. Could be a load of shite what i got told like. This Huntelaar rumour doesnt seem to budge either. I definetely wouldnt say no to his signature. We are in no position to be turning our noses up at players who have a nack for scoring goals. Personally, i would still love us to test the waters with Valencia and their financial difficulties with a bid for Soldado. However unlikely it may seem, if the offer is good enough it could well tempt Valencia. I'm also at the point now, because of the position we find ourselves in players like Walcott and Sturridge seem more attractive as the days go on. Would give anything for them to be on our bench or in the starting line up. Cant stress how crucial it is we get this January transfer window spot on, the owners need to back us. A couple of solid additions and we will be sound and will look like a completely different proposition. Im actually excited for it, i just hope were not to far off the race for 4th come January. The January window and the return of Lucas cant come quick enough!!

Valencia still seem to be suffering from financial difficulties, but i agree i still think you will have to pay a decent transfer if you want him. 16/17 million maybe? maybe 18/19 with it being January. But that could potentially be a bargain. Bit of a gamble but we need someone badly, i think he is a realistic option that fits the bill with the type of player he is. He is a very good finisher and has class about him when hes on the ball. His technical ability is obviously what Rodgers is trying to implement as well.

Just prey to the heavens that we find our clinical edge today. I just hope Suarez and Borini can cope with the extra added pressure of being expected to come up with the goods in front of goal even more now as a striker wasn't signed. Podolski, Giroud and Cazorla all yet to score in the league alllbeit very early days, i'm not one for stats, but i hate little things like this. Come on boys!!! If i was a Stoke fan, and we signed Charlie Adam for 5 Million, i would be very happy. He's not shite at all. Our midfield at the moment, Gerrard, Lucas( Gutted), Allen, Sahin, and the emergence of Shelvey. It potentially a world class midfield again. There's just no room for him. He could make a useful squad player but he wants to play. He can do a very good job at someone like Stoke. Saying he's shite is just daft!

Hopefully the lad can be a useful squad player and add that little bit of trickery and pace to the side that were lacking. Also, can i just add that Rodgers signed that Voorn from Utecht for a million, so hopefully he has a little eye for talent in the Dutch league. Martin Jol also seems to have an eye for a player in the dutch league, and if rumours are to be beleived he wanted him aswell, including Ajax. Just being possitive.. Right.. been reading this thread for a while now. Many fans becoming unpatient that we have not yet signed anybody, i understand their frustrations as past experiences have shown how we have lost out on players who where well within our grasp, but yet they moved on to other clubs, at worst our main rivals. So i see where they are coming from, as i dont want to be in the same position thinking we could have had this player and that player but once again slipped through our fingers. But.. there is no need to slaughter the owners, manager club for lack of activity, lets just see what the next few weeks brings, its still only very early days. Rodgers seems calm enough that things will be put in place in the coming month. The team we currently have only needs the addition of one or two quality players and we will look a much stronger side than what people may think. I have real optimism that Henderson and Shelvey will have learnt an awful lot last year, and will be like a new signing. Giving players like Wisdom, Robinson, Sterling, Teixera, Suso and possible Morgan the chance to show what they have is also fills me with excitement. A year makes a big difference in youth development, these kids will soon to be approaching 18+ it makes all the difference. In terms of new additions, obviously already stated many times our main priorities are wingers and a striker. There is a need for CB, LB and DM cover, but not an absolute must. I'm trying to be quite realistic in who is out there who we can bring to the club at a price within our range. A few players pop to mind who seem to have missed the gobshite media's attention... players who i think have quality, players who can impove what we already have. Realistic options. Eden Dzeko? Man City will surely purchase another striker in the summer, he's a proven goalscorer, obviously would cost 18+ but works his balls off, left foot, right foot, good in the air, strong. Steven Pienarr? Probably get slated for this, and chances maybe little with his blue shite connction, but i always get the feeling he would jump at the chance, playing for Liverpool alongside Gerrard, Suarez is always going to have the attraction factor. His movement on and off the ball is spot on, another work horse, great short passing ability, could see him and Suarez working a treat with endless movement. Gaston Ramirez? I hope we pull all the stops out to get this lad, watched ESPN italy weekend round up every weekend, he's just has that extra bit of class, especially in the final third which we badly miss! Lets just hope the owners, Suarez and Coates can work their magic. We have longed for a winger who has raw talent, technically superb and can play both flanks to a the required standard.
