Havin read most of the opinions on this thread and listened to some of the responses from people like Dave Whelan i cant honestly see what the fuss is about. As usual with anything associated with our club these days there is a huge over reaction. Ian Ayre like any other managing director is well within his rite to explore all avenues to increase revenue. If this means breaking away from the current deal then so be it. Like it or lump it football is big business and we need to look at ways at increasing that business. We cant hold ourselves back from earning potential revenue cause we are in danger of killing the premier league. Its not our problem that other clubs have small fan bases and depend only tv revenue, and maybe thats their problem that they never looked at other ways of inreasing their own revenue and became to reliant on tv money that was coming in. If Ayre hadn't have come out with this statement someone else would have. Sooner or later this was gonna happen, it just so happens our MD made the first move. We shouldn't feel guilty about killing the soul of the premier league. Ourselves the mancs and arsenal are by far the biggest clubs in english football, we are all the big attraction all over the world, we have the pulling power, we bring in the big revenue and rest just jumped on board for the ride and have made themselves a nice few quid along the way. Now its time they went their own way and frightens the crap out of them....
