Villa's superior finishing won that game. The game itself in general play was fairly even. They had the likes of Bradley the American international playing and Albrighton. They dominated us in midfield for long spells in the first half. Shelvey was terrible granted he is only back from injury but he seems to me to lack pace and athleticism. Thomas Ince is a big threat and got himself into some great positions but his final ball let him down on ocassion. Silva scored a fine goal but needs to improve his decision making. Wisdom gave away a penalty and it was very soft. Never a pen in my book but the lad has it all. If one player can make it at the highest level it wiill be Andre. Pace, power,composure,leaderhip. He's only 17 playing reserve football and also skipper. Wonderful prospect. Ngog i'm sorry is absolute garbage. He was terrible tonight on and off the ball. Didn't try a leg and was on the end of soe wonderful balls from Suso only to be bullied and dominated by two Villa rookies. He's a shocking striker an embarrasment for a top 6 side. What the reserve team lacks is midfield generals. Very poor in midfield anytime i see us play. Players who will make it the club? Wisdom and Suso are certainties in my opinion. Tony Silva has a chance if he improves his decision making and develops a right foot.

We got dominated in midfield. Shelvey for me even when fit lacks pace and athleticism...Roberts well he's limited..Ince..fine trickery and decent pace but zero end product consistently...ngog well even at this level he's just not good enough and his work off the ball is terrible...Suso the class and quality beams off him but lacking players with equal quality around him to make best use of hus talent...Regan had a poor game..Wisdom is a fine prospect and had a decent game bar the peno decision which was borderline..Irwin will never make it here he seems to be around forever..mendy? mediocre..silva has talent but needs to work on his decision making....good 2nd half howing against an experienced villa team with Bradley and albrighton

Most of these lads are balls. You only need to compare them to Albrighton to see they won't be good enough for the top level. Ngog at his currently ability at 21 is an embarrassment to a top 6 premiership side. Ince and Silva are pretty shambolic too. Shelvey and Suso look like they have enough about them to be worth considering as prospects. ohhh and Wisdom who#s the finest defensive prospect we have had in a long time

What's your opinion on Wisdom Dynamite?? Has he got the tools to make it? He's only 17 he'll learn from that mistake tonight. I think he's a hell of a player in the making. Still lots of development and learning to do

As soon as Agger went off, I feared for us. Then as usual when he isn't in the team, we decided to just to defend the 18 yard line because of the chronic lack of pace in the central and flank areas. Thus the whole team was too deep to support Carroll who had a stinker and Suarez who produced the only decent football for us all avro. The real problem and it has been this way for almost two years is that we do not have a leader in centre midfield to take possession of the ball and crucially push the team 10-15 yards up the pitch. Anyone who thinks we don't need a proper playmaker in centre midfield is seriously thick or stubbornly in denial. So now we've lost to all three promoted teams, Brom, Blackpool twice and Newcastle. As well as losses to West Ham and Wolves it must be clear that we've lacked the skill, guile and sheer nous to break these team down.
