Not sure about that to be honest Atherton, Hussain, Thorpe, Butcher, Stewart are a decent set of batsmen who had to face world class bowlers in the 90s wherever you toured. The only 2 class batsman, in this current team, that wouldn’t average low/mid 30s if they were playing in the 90s is Cook and Root Bowlers, were fortunate we’ve got Jimmy and Broad, 2 world class bowlers. But Gough, Caddick, Cork, Fraser would cause the shithouse batsmen we’ve started this tour with a lot of problems. Both teams lacking a class spinner with Ali and Tufnell I’d say it’ll be close match between the 90s Test side and the current one
