  1. I don't, I'm just a glass half full type of bloke. I've had it with the gnashing of teeth and they've all got it in for me routine. Its happened too many times. If the Yanks are in total control, whats the fucking point in announcing that you are selling the club? Why was Martin Broughton appointed? Why didn't they just leave it to Purslow to piss around looking for investment. If anyone at RBS has got any commercial acumen they will take a long look at Hicks defaulting on his loans in the US and think 'fuck me, we can't afford to let that happen here.' Additionally, who is going to extend that fucker an alternative line of credit? Its getting sold. It might not be next month to rich Arabs, but its getting sold IMO.
  2. Thats because he knows fuck all. 2 weeks ago we were making an 'official approach' to Hodgson within 48 hours. Still no official approach as far as I am aware. Back in April, he stated that the yanks were not in control of the sale process, now they are veto-ing offers left, right and centre. The fucker can't have it all ways. Do you think he's peddling this stuff in order to SELL NEWSPAPERS? And who are these sources close to Anfield? The programme sellers, the tea lady? I don't think Martin Broughton's took this gig to piss around for two months. What would be the fucking point? I'm convinced he has been put in place by the banks to act as the conduit for a smoother sale to the Middle East. What was the point of Rafa being paid £4-6m, when everyone knew Inter would be in the frame? They needed him to be 'out of the loop' by a certain time to satisfy something, because lets face it, there were discussions about his future, but when it came it came late Wednesday night and was 'done & dusted' by Thursday afternoon. Something has changed and this managerial sideshow is part of it.
  3. I don't see that. RBS will come under alot of pressure if this is not done soon. Hicks is a bluffer.
  4. If we are sold to Arabs with pots of gold as is beng suggested, then somewhere in the midst of things will be the hand of Maktoum and Dubai.
  5. Your logic is fundamentally flawed. You consider that the asset value of the club will only decrease by £50M, when we have offloaded £150m of players (presumably including Torres and Gerrard). Its these players that are in Rafa's words 'the cornerstone of Standard Chartered's' investment. So presumably this deal with fold or at the very least be renegotiated. Additionally, without success on the pitch our revenue streams fall even further, and with this more commercial endorsements will start to falter. This makes the proposition of buying the far less attractive as it has neither a team capable of winning and severely diminished commercial value. Therefore price goes down.
  6. Far too much psycho-analysis of a situation that may or may not even be occuring depending if you believe the press and other supposed ITK information. The truth will out in time.
  7. I think Mongo signed his own death warrant. Stupid fucker really, Capello backed him by only stripping him of the captaincy. I would have booted the filthy pikie rat out of the fucking squad for good.....
  8. I read in one of the Sundays and I think it was one of the better ones that both Gerrard and Carra are supportive of Hodgson. I will see if I can dig it out. I'm not for Roy by any stretch of the imagination, but his Fulham staff have nothing but praise for the fella and I reckon there's many a bruised ego at Anfield where his 'Uncle Roy' style of management will be welcomely received. Dunno, just a different perspective.
  9. Because some of the senior ENGLISH contingent in the dressing room believe he's the man to lead us to 19? Not sure if its a good reason but I've seen this floated in many a story.
  10. For my sins I used to be a regular post on RAWK until I criticized Rafa's tactics against Wigan as fucking clueless and was handed a lifetime ban. When I did post however, Something Else was one of the most sensible posters. Not prone to idle speculation or throwaway comments and for that reason only and the fact that with 28,000 posts to his credit and that he has staked his unsoiled reputation on an ex-board members info, I am prepared to consider that there might be something in this.
  11. To be fair I've not noticed it much of late. Don't know if its because I've got used to it or the novelty has worn off with the blowers. Hardly any toots at France v Mexico.
  12. I agree. I actually find myself quite liking the fella - proper gent. But not really what we need.
  13. This is perhaps why kenny saw Pellegrini.
  14. Kudos for the guy on YNWA, who broke news of this way before any journo got on it. Look forward to more of his offerings.
  15. What I dion't get is why the 2nd favourite, whose own son and Rafa both say wants the job, is meeting Pellegrini? Why someone instantly recognisable? Why not that snake Purslow, who nobody in London would have recognised? Has Kenny's and Roys candidature been some sort of elaborate red herring?
  16. I'm with you on this. The final piece of the managerial merry go round. Available, track record, speaks English, will appeal to the Spanish element of the squad.
  17. As unappealing a match as I've seen listed yet. And no, Sven's Ivory Coasts manager.
  18. Has anyone seen Roy as a World Cup pundit yet, eh should be there by now? Got a horrible feeling its going to be the Swedish fanny rat....
  19. Yep, I can't understand where that one's coming from. There always a 'rogue' thrown in by betting company's though.
  20. To get back on track - latest betting:- Hodgson - 4/9 Skybet, 8/11 Ladbrokes, 11/10 Hills, Evens Coral Dalglish - 15/8 Skybet, 6/4 Ladbrokes, 13/8 Hills, 6/5 Coral Biggest recent mover - Marco Van Basten, now 10 or 12/1 Biggest overall mover Erikkson - started as high as 80's and now as low as 8's. Still looking like Roy to me.
  21. Clubs not worth even £500m, and therein lies the problem.
