  1. On a side note, anyone think the Times is pushing the chinese bid hard because their owner Murdoch can see the pound signs having a team in the Prem that is chinese owned?
  2. I suspect the scenario is that if three board directors decide that Huang's bid is the one to run with at the current level offered, which sees either no premium or only a modest premium being paid to the owners, then there is going to be a legal challenge that we all know could take ages in this Country. The only scenario that is going to remove this uncertainty is getting the Huang offer to a level where the cunts feel they have maxed what they can hope to get in view of the impending loan call in date of 6th October. But one would think the nearer we get to that date the more they are exposed to offers that will net them even less with debts increasing and penalties pending. At the moment their is a mexican stand-off with the ball in Broughton's court following Hunag seeming ultimatum.
  3. "I do know the player and think he is a good player, but can't give you any further indication. Reminds me of his -'I can't enlighten you any further'....when questioned about his own managerial move by Gary Lineker and he made a similar comment before pulling Cole from the bag.
  4. I don't think Babel's a bad player, he just needs the right club. Perhaps back to Holland would be the best move for him as he's still young and could get his career back on track.
  5. I think Roy's comments suggest that we are negotiating for him. I tihnk a stright swap for Babel would be a reasonable suggestion.
  6. I'm not worried. The media are yet again blowing this out of all proportion and putting two and two together and making six. Stevie G, Nando, Reina, and Joe Cole aren't committed to this club for it to be sold to some shitehawk like Yahya 'fuckface Kirdi, fat cunt and to have the same issues, if not far, far worse this season. I back the majority of the voting LFC board to make the right decision.
  7. Not sure if its a coincidence but The Golden Word or 'Golden Words' is a college rag mag from Queens University, Kingston, Ontario, Canada. To quote wiki - 'Its printed humour is diverse, running the gamut from absurdist sketches and short stories to political satire and commentary on current events. Practical jokes have also figured prominently in its history, and are typically revealed in subsequent issues.' Fucking spotty student taking the piss!
  8. He could have bid 'off market'. I didn't see City openly up for sale or Chelsea for that matter when both their current benefactors bought the club.
  9. It's amazing isn't it that within an hour or so of Subrata Roy's Sahara Group declaring that it won't be bidding ' for the time being', we have the H&G 'preferred bidder' claiming a deal will be done by Sunday and an article seeking to attempt to sully Kenny Huang. Looks like the H&G PR machine peddling a load of bull to up the ante. If Yaya was a serious player, why didn't his consortium ibuy the club in April. Lets face it he's been hanging on to Gillett's coat tails for a good long time now. Why wait till July / August to offer the Yanks top dollar and find yourself up against rival bids? What did Broughton say? If prospective buyers are using the newspapers to claim victory, its probably best not to believe them as no serious buyer would want to go public. This also makes me wonder about Huang and wonder whather either the Al-Kharifi bid or the Ambani bids are a lot further along the track? All will be revealed very soon.
  10. Premier League - Bank denies Liverpool sale approach Reuters - Mon, 02 Aug 11:07:00 2010 Liverpool's major creditor, Royal Bank of Scotland, have denied they were in talks with a Chinese businessman over the sale of the Premier League club. But a source close to Chinese businessman Kenny Huang has said talks to buy Liverpool's £237 million debt with RBS were under way as a first step towards a purchase deal for the 18-times English champions. Media reports have claimed that Huang, a Guangdong-born US citizen who already has interests in Chinese baseball and US basketball, had approached the bank as part of a scheme to eventually acquire control of the club. But an RBS spokesman said: "We are not in talks with any bidder about the sale of Liverpool football club." Asked about the denial, the source insisted Huang wanted to buy the Anfield club, who were put up for sale by unpopular American owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett in April. Huang, chairman of the Hong Kong-based QSL Sports Group, has not commented on the deal but appointed a British media relations firm to represent his interest in the five-times European champions. Liverpool's owners, who bought the club in February 2007 from former owner David Moores for £218.9m, instructed Barclays Capital to find a buyer in April and appointed British Airways chief Martin Broughton as chairman to oversee the sale. Barclays Capital refused comment on Monday. The American duo have faced intense criticism and hostility from Liverpool fans, with frequent demands for their removal, after loading the club with huge debts. Huang issued a statement in March denying comments attributed to him in the media about the future of then Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez but declining comment on his interest in purchasing the club. He also owns a minority share in the US basketball team Cleveland Cavaliers. Media reports have linked Syrian businessman and former international footballer Yahya Kirdi with a deal for Liverpool, who suffered a dismal campaign last season, finishing in seventh place and missing out on a lucrative Champions League spot.
  11. Abso-fuckin-lutely. Problem is though, I can't see that the cunts would let themselves get scammed. Seems too fucking simple.
  12. I'm not doubting his love for the club, but he has been prone to over-exaggeration for a journo with one of the reputable papers. But he didn't limit it to Torres, Gerrard and Masch that were looking to leave when he was bleating all over talksport(for which he should know better) on a Friday show repeating on the Monday, a few days befroe Cole signed which he didn't see coming. But as they say todays new, tomorrows chip papers and no one holds them to account!
  13. Take what Tony Evans says with a pinch of salt. Two or three weeks ago he was all over Talksport saying the club was in total meltdown and all the players were instructing their agents to find them a new club. The club were also apparently working out a way for Torres and Gerrard to leave with dignity. Then we sign Cole, Gerrard commits and there's an indication that Torres wants to stay. He's now banging on about Torres leaving if no investment, which might be the case, but is probably down to 'hedging his bets' rather than any factual content. He probably knows about as much as the next man and with so much 'spin' out there, thats probably not very much!
  14. PaulMcC - I'm not arguing with you, just asking you the question. And when we signed Arbeloa for 4m euro's, you knew he was a decent player, or alternatively you thought - Alvaro who? The point is he is a known quantity for a relatively cheap sum of money in the current transfer market that can provide cover, freeing up some of the remainder of our budget (whatever that may be) for higher priced, quality attacking options.
  15. I'm ok with this. Can provide cover at right and left full back - If Kyrgiakos is worth £1.5m, a former England full back has got to be reasonable value at £2-£2.5m ?- which usually buys you fuck all these days - and you can be sure we won't be paying it all up front.
  16. He can go. He's replaceable. £30m and that slovenian kid Khrin should do the trick. There's cheaper replacements who can actually do more than tackle and pass it simple. Steven Defour?
  17. Dieumerci Mbokani was on the verge of signing for Fulham until Roy left. Hmmm....
  18. From the snippets that SSN are showing through the hour Roy has got his 'I'm not in a mood to be fucked with' face on. But apparently Torres is looking forward to coming back and reports that he may leave are 'ewonneous'.
  19. Utter shit. As if we havent got enough to worry about without this sort of muck being peddled.
  20. Gone from 2/1 to join Chelsea to 1/3 in latest betting.
  21. No not really. Everyone still knows the club have massive issues and ownership change remains the no.1 priority. I just think however, that its a good bit of business, and I'm welcome for some positive news for a change. Nothing wrong in that.
