  1. I thought he'd signed on loan according to the Mail? How they get away with this stuff is beyond me.
  2. You might as well just tell us then. I don't see the point in mentioning it otherwise.
  3. It's just not how he operates anyway is it? Like most LBO's his fortune is tied up in other assets. They'd let us go bust before using their own money.
  4. Murdoch was just as culpable, he gave the ok. Horrible human being, he's done more damage to our society than any politician ever could. I'm not sure. I think the MP briefed the plod.
  5. Think it's: U.N.I - T.E.D that spells debt to me, with a nick paddy whack give a dog a bone, Ocean Finance on the phone.
  6. Who is considered the home team and do they get more tickets?
  7. Wasn't it 'fuck off back to London'? I think we get a bit precious about all this stuff. Fans have always sung songs to wind their local rivals up, even when they're not playing them. It's just banter. The Ocean Finance one is quite funny.
  8. I can't see them turning down a freebie. Without knowing who it was it's difficult to say if it was the wrong decision. We might be open to investment but we shouldn't welcome any old charlatan.
  9. Cahill is decent but not what I would call dominant in the air, which, for all the talk of playing it out from the back, is what we've been missing this season. Shawcross is an option but thanks to the recent speculation he'll be out of our price range. Centre back is not a massive priority for me as even without that ariel presence Carra and Agger are still an excellent partnership. Skrtel hasn't become a bad player overnight, and next season Johnson will have fully bedded in. I think we've got more pressing concerns up front and as usual could do with an upgrade in attacking midfield.
  10. I thought Bale was excellent against us. It depends a lot on how we set up and utilise the full backs. Without top class wide men they will be expected to get up and down and provide width, so we're never going to be as defensively solid.
  11. Insua is just a kid playing far too much in a team that has been struggling for form and confidence. A lot of the mistakes he's making are down to inexperience, which I'm sure he'll learn from if we don't get on his case and stick with him instead of making snap judgments based on a bad time for the whole team.
  12. I'd let Aurelio go, he just can't be relied upon, even as cover. Insua is going through a bad patch but it's important we stick with him now, otherwise it contradicts the point of giving these kids a chance. He's shown more than enough promise to say he'll be a good player in the future, so have a bit of patience with him. Ideally we'd bring in another experienced bosman as security.
  13. Wasn't it a Sheffield MP? I can't believe that bastard has escaped much of the flak.
  14. Scunny have been far the better side and deserved that. They've kept it on the deck and moved the ball well.
  15. What an arrogant goal celebration, no joy whatsoever.
  16. Another big gun goes out. Frustrating as we had a real chance to go all the way.
  17. We're not though are we. Stoke have been impressive today and played some good competitve football as they often do.
  18. Another great goal. I've been really impressed with Etherington today, he's a real old school winger. Great cup tie.
  19. Playing well here Stoke. 'Why Delilah' has got to be the most obscure football chant of all time.
  20. When have these fellas ever used their own money for anything? It's a shit state of affairs, even with a new stadium, and we're just surviving to get milked by people with no real interest in the club or success. I don't really blame the yanks, I blame the greedy footballing authorities who have allowed the game to attract these type people.
  21. I don't mind Stoke, they work their socks off and play to their strengths. It's not like we are the saviours of total football is it.
