    I think this transfer is reckless. The lad is a highly rated player and the market is fucked up i agree but hes only really had half a season in the top flight and is not worth the risk of spending all that money. It seems a panic buy which we have been forced into by Nando but id rather not buy anyone than someone who will eat up alot of our transfer budget and not able to afford a better alternative in the summer because we spent 35m on a striker already.

    We need a decent winger. Pleased we are bidding for players today but a winger we been crying out for esp now we got Caroll. I cant see Dirk or Maxi whipping the crosses in for him to get on the end of. Downing would have been a good buy.

    Has there been ant real inidication he is going. Both clubs seem to not have said anything yet its seems almost certain he will go. I guess we will find out in the next hr or so if hes going as the Caroll deal is done so we got our replacement

    I see your point but as we are loosing a player it seems on the same day as gaining who will be his replacement it just seems to make the deal worse than it is. Its sorta like we are loosing Torres and have to make the most if it and justify his move away with the huge transfer kitty we will have but it seems we are not. If Torres was staying and we got Caroll for 35m we'd be asking if it is too much but i think we would have less opposition to the move as we do now.

    No point buying all these strikers if we have no wide players to cross the fucking ball to them. One of the point's of getting Caroll would be he's great in the air but how many decent crosses do we put into the box each game.
