  1. Yea as unsettling as the first half was we've been amazing in the second. Not sure what Rodgers said or did at halftime but it's worked perfectly.
  2. Gerrard on the yellow makes it tricky but if we're going to keep this formation I think Lucas on for Allen with Gerrard going where Allen is would be a good decision.
  3. Haven't seen too much wrong with Coutinho to be honest. Thought he might have a had a chance earlier had Allen tried to give it back to him rather than backheel to Suarez.
  4. Been piss poor all over but can't help but think Agger could have done more to try to block that.
  5. If he can act they can just make him the next Bond villain.
  6. In regards to the fee you're probably right but I still say we should go in for him as there's always a chance (albeit probably slim) that he values actually playing football over the cash. It's not like we're skint either we just can't offer what they can but he'd still be well taken care of. @ NV - which mancs? I'd be very surprised if united were to get him, city is another story however.
  7. If Juve end up looking to sell we should definitely be in for him. I think he'd be ideal plus it would wind up the mancs and if I'm not mistaken he hates them for not giving him a chance when he was there in first place. Probably would cost a shit ton though but he's young and is very likely only going to get better.
  8. No problem with attempting to sign Shaw but as NV said the money being talked about as well as the other things myself and others have stated make me think it's extremely unlikely. In my opinion Southampton will only sell if Shaw pushes for a move and I believe the only place he'd push for that move to is to Chelsea, who conveniently enough have loads of money to make both him and Southampton happy with the deal. Haven't seen or read much of anything about Coentrao since he joined Real Madrid but I wanted us to sign him before he went there so if it's a case of him just not getting games because he's at Madrid then I'd be fine with him provided they don't try to fleece us on the price. Porto's LB Alex Sadro has looked good to me everytime I've seen him (which admittedly isn't a whole lot), he's 23, and seems to be headed in the right direction, would be less expensive than Shaw as well I'd imagine. Have no idea what's up with Ricardo Rodriguez but I'll be an expert once I head on over to youtube.
  9. The only way we get Shaw is if Chelsea stay out of it unfortunately. He's a supporter of them and they have the money to pay him and Southampton whatever they want. I do agree that he'd be the ideal signing there though.
  10. Same here, was hoping for a draw myself but if a team had to win I'd have rathered it be spurs.
  11. Spurs are completely hopeless. Arsenal have done their best to give away a draw only for spurs to fuck up every chance they've gotten.
  12. You're bringing up a lot of old myths about Lucas, all of which have been proven incorrect statistically but I suppose you can continue to beat a dead horse. The only thing that has any merit is that he's slow but then again Gerrard isn't exactly pacey now either. Do I think Gerrard should be the DM? No, I'd prefer to see him further forward with less defensive responsibility. Do I think he's capable? Of course, Gerrard is capable of playing any position on the pitch besides keeper, and for all I know he'd be good at that as well I've just never seen him try. Is Lucas the best DM at the club? In my opinion yes he is. He knows his role and relishes it, and he is capable of both keeping play ticking over and providing the occasional assist (or pass before the assist as the case may be) not to mention his discipline means he's rarely out of position, and he's very good at reading what's going on in front of him. Should we bring competition or a replacement in for him? Of course, especially as if we keep form we'll need the depth for the CL.
  13. I'm fine with Johnson being given a new contract. The problem arises when I consider the wage demands he probably has for himself and the wage I think the club should play him. He's without a doubt a good player when he's on form, but he hasn't been on form consistently enough for quite some time. The less said about Cissokho the better. He's been solid enough defensively lately but offers next to nothing going forward and looks scared on the ball more often than not. Shame as athletically he could be great but mentally he doesn't look like he has it. He does however always put in the effort.
  14. I think it will be Cardiff, Fulham, and WBA. The dream would be Villa, Stoke, and Hull
  15. Agreed, and it'll will come to light as soon as her career starts to wind down a bit.
  16. Not that simple for me. Cissokho isn't anything special by any means but he gives his all for the shirt and has been better (though I understand that's still not good enough) lately. Johnson on the other hand has looked liked he couldn't give a shit for most of the season, so for me I'd take Cissokho over him. Also I don't think you drop Coutinho. He wasn't trash against Swansea and played the full game. He just wasn't at his best. If anything you drop Sterling, not based on form but based on the fact that he generally fades quicker. So if we need an injection of pace in the last 30-15 we have him on the bench.
  17. It's hilarious but I'd just as soon the owl play him as a sub for England anyway, especially since he's already admitted to playing him injured.
  18. Agree with this. The only two real flaws I can pick out are what you've just said and his dealing with crosses (though to be fair that was always a knock on Reina as well). I'd like to see him be more assertive in letting his defenders know just what he's up to, but at the same time they've all trained together for ages now so you'd expect the defenders would know what he does and doesn't do at this point. Case in point today when Skrtel had a go at him for not coming for a ball that was just trickling in basically unchallenged. I understand Skrtel's point but it's something the Mignolet just hasn't really done so far in his time here so I'd just as soon Skrtel realize that's not in his game right now, just deal with it himself, and save the "suggestions" for Melwood.
  19. Obviously not being from the area I have no idea what the consensus on this is in Liverpool but personally I don't get that feeling that he's a mercenary at all. If anything I think the fact that both City and Chelsea passed on him have had a massively positive effect on whatever his view of us was before he joined. Sure he's not one who has the "boyhood red" tag on him (and to be honest most of those have flattered to deceive lately anyway) but I don't doubt his commitment at all. In the "sporting world" as a whole though I think you're probably right in that others perceive him as such.
  20. The "Liverpool can't win the league and that's why" shit from the media is stupid. Had that been ginsoak's mancs everyone would talk about how "triumphantly defiant" they were and how winning that game was a sign of their "championship spirit". Sure we clearly have defensive issues and I would have liked another midfielder as well, but if we keep winning the games then we can win the league, it's really that simple. Anyone suggesting it's definitely not happening based off of one terribly poor defensive day (especially considering it was preceded by brilliant displays against both Everton and Arsenal) is just talking shit for the sake of it. In the scheme of things a 4-3 and a 1-0 are worth the same amount of points and have the same +1 on goal difference. When you consider that two of their goals were off of rather suspect fouls l it also takes the edge off the shitty defensive performance (at least for me). That's not to say it was what we should expect and strive for but at the end of the day the scoreline was influenced just as much by the officiating as it was by our defense. How the fuck anyone can call the foul on Bony a pen and then just allow play to continue when Suarez has the same done to him, if not in a more blatant matter, is beyond me.
  21. I don't think what you've pointed out actually conflicts with anything I wrote. In a world where those companies weren't propped up by government contracts they'd be fucked. In the world we live in their corruption and incompetency is seemingly rewarded by more government contracts.
