  1. Because no one in their right mind would applaud for any other reason. Unless it was a slow hand clap.....
  2. Nah it wouldn't because they would know it was preemptive. Fake applause would also only serve to diminish the times when we have applauded for the right reasons.
  3. Never gonna happen, nor should it.
  4. The fact that Michael Owen is a cunt does a better job of illustrating that. If it walks like a cunt, talks like a cunt and acts like a cunt, chances are it's Michael Owen.
  5. I don't think anyone wanted him to go, but the point is in hindsight he was overrated and going downhill. He COULD regain his form at United but the odds in my mind are against him and I reckon one more serious injury and it's good night Irene. Maybe we should start a fund to hire Lee Cattermole/Lucas Neill/Michael Brown...
  6. I remember a banner at the Barca game for Figo's return that translated read: "We hate you so much because we loved you so much." Just thought that was brilliant and if Figo had any soul whatsoever that ahead of the pig's head and the vitriol aimed at him would surely have hurt most. I won't be shocked to see a banner like: "Owen (manc number) you chose to walk alone."
  7. And if you believe Tevez is signing for City for the love of the game well.....:wallbutt:
  8. He was massively overrated towards the end of his time with us but his first few seasons it was like he was from another planet.
  9. Bascombe might have a leg to stand on with his bullshit had Owen not when interviewed by Sky said as soon as Fergie phoned he said yes. We are supposed to believe that while he was waiting for his medical his agent was pleading with Liverpool? I lose more and more respect for CB by the article and I was never one who gave a shit that he writes for the NOTW.
  10. I'll tell you a reason I like him..... Liam didn't deserve to live......
  11. They'd be better served by Al Jarreau....
  12. Kids these days, they don't have a clue. I'm telling you now, if Premier Manager taught me anything then Emilio Butragueno is the one to watch!
  13. We still pull together. A sad example of how the city has the best and the worst is Rhys Jones. The worst was obviously the scumbags who shot him and laughed and bragged about it while trying to evade capture and the families they "grew up" in. The good is how the city pulled together at one of the saddest times in a long time and offered support. I am not for a minute suggesting that other cities wouldn't care if it happened in their community but I would suggest that maybe not on the same scale in most places. I think the "I'm alright jack" mentality is more of a sign of the times than the city and I think it affects us less than a lot of other places, perhaps that is down to the fact we still live within a society that has a generation of people who know what it is to really struggle and it is those people that have instilled a work ethic and a sense of morals into some of the next generation. I find it quite comical to have a pop at a group of people from this city that are actually doing their part to stabilise our economy. If these people who have to have the best stuff all stopped buying tomorrow you would have a lot more to worry about believe you me. Can I say that people will still help people out in the street? Yes I would say I've seen and done that enough times to say that still happens.
  14. Stallworth was the one I alluded to. As for Cooper and Smith I didn't realise you were talking literally till I just looked it up. Seriously is that sport cursed atm or what? Nick Adenhart in the MLB as well. Sad times.
  15. Yeah I know it says above, I was just talking about the game.
  16. Saivet is actually a good player in real life but he has a long way to go. Balotelli needs to leave Inter as well and get first team football in his position or he will never make it.
  17. I never saw anything that suggested he could be any more than a (best voyeur voice "show pony". Remember hearing the hype, watched him play in the u-21 and he didn't look anything special. Also remember watching the obligatory Youtube vid and seeing him getting the treatment for his seal dribhle which just had me in stitches. There he is bouncing the ball on his head and then some Uruguayan was it (?) just volleys him in the chest and down he goes. Remember when Ronaldo started overdoing the showboating against Wigan was it (?) and they just mowed him down as well.
  18. Haven't played FM in about 3 years because it is shite. You'll never beat the old days of CM. That said, apparently teams have admitted to using it as a scouting tool. I remember MGP was quite good on it but then so was Cherno Samba.... As for the player Falcao, I've seen a bit of him (full games) and he just looks like a thinking man's Tevez. Works his ass, finds space and runs between lines brilliantly, can finish with either foot and despite his size is excellent in the air. For 3m I really don't see much risk. If the story we put a bid in is true at all then I can see him signing as he has said he wanted to play in the prem. He would be a great player to have on the bench for Torres or to come in IF (god forbid) he were injured or suspended.
  19. Excellent QB and someone I always liked to watch when he played. The Rams, the imfamous greatest show on turf. NFL can't catch a break of late, first the drunk driver whose name escapes me, then Plaxico, then Vick and now this. Sympathies to his family and friends and those of the girl as well.
  20. I agree with the best and worst of people and there are other places that compare to Liverpool and are different to other cities within the country they are from. London is always one I think people take too much on face value because when they think London they think the business epicentre of London and not the real London. Having been to the east end for the footy and when living not too far from there I found a lot of similarities between "us and them", and the same can be said of Glasgow. Why though? Well we are all big cities built around ports which have led to diverse cultures long before the E.U and these diverse cultures have enriched our cities and allowed us a greater culture than most places. There is when talking particularly of Liverpool and Glasgow the heavy irish presence and of course that is linked in with how the religious beliefs came to shape our cities as well. These are just some of the reasons why we are different and will always be different. We are more friendly and outgoing or confident and arrogant for the reason we are put in social situations constantly where we have to be and it these skills to defend ourselves if you like that we are constantly having to call upon as unjustified attack after unjustified attack is visited upon us. What to me overall makes us different to anyone in the british isles can be summed up by one simple premise. While being one of the most open and accepting big cities in the british isles, people are very quick not to accept us and look for ways to put us down or single us out. It is at these times we band together and fight those that would try to oppress this city, something we should be and are proud of but what do those that belittle us do? Say we have a chip on our shoulder and make out we are over reacting. I think this is an obvious reason why scousers have always got on better with the Irish as they hate the english too. :P You could make a case for the fact that we are over reacting and sadly ignorant people strengthen that case by jumping on every "anti scouse" bandwaggon having no idea why and the real issues and what we are actually fighting for and who we are actually fighting for are completely overlooked. While this is the case the constant media slant on anything to do with this city is quite evident to anyone with half a brain and it is for this reason that we have become so insular and "bitter" if you like towards people from this country in general and why your average scouser hates "cockneys, brummies, geordies, etc" you only have to spend 5 minutes in one of the away grounds to see how they feel about us. You ask someone from inside the british isles to talk to you about Liverpool and they are already pre-disposed to have an agenda whether they realise it or not. A pathetic stereotype that they are desperate to perpuate but by contrast ask foreigners who have no such ingrained bias and they will give you a clearer picture of just how special this city and its people can be in general. I'm under no illusion of some of the shitholes and some of the morons you can find in this city but at the same time I am also under no illusions of how special it is that people will come to together and support their own when they need it most and because others don't understand this, they mock it. Glasgow Celtic fans on the other hand being different also support it and understand it fully. We are different, and I'm glad.
  21. Maybe you should employ that technique on match days, if you don't already of course.
  22. Even real couldn't be that stupid .... could they?
  23. Not if you were too busy enjoying him sucking your balls based on the sterling anti scouse job you are doing at the moment. What's next lad? Calm down, Calm down?
  24. Is that a manc pulling your strings?
  25. Honest opinion is sound but from a scouser on a Liverpool forum you might expect a more realistic BALANCED opinion.
