I agrre. The way he let his contract run down and forcing us to sell for 8m +peanuts(well nunez) was a disgrace. that for me proved he would anything to get out, like he was obsessed or something. I can picture him ignoring rafa while rafa is persuading him to stay and try build again. Owen is a classic story of how wanting fame and greatness can do to you. Gerrard nearly did the same, but he know better. As i said before, iwould not grudge him movingto scum united, but i will never want him back, it will take alot to change this.

If Owen signs for united i certainly will not be frightened. Even if he goes on an injury free run and scores some goals i dont think he would ever reach his past highs. Also, he is not going to produce something out of nothing to win united a game, which is what the transexual used to to do. Fergie can get something out of him, but i am not expecting more than 10 goals a season. On the case if he would join, i think he would bite fergie's hand for any contract he is offered, he will be thinking a striking partnership with ronney and a place in the england team. Another point i would like to make is that his style has changed , in my own opinion he plays in a similar way to rooney now, just off the centreforward. I wont be holding grudges if he joined the scum, its his career. and im not afraid of anybody, even real madrid:P

I started noticing Pepe's actions and body language after his reaction to carra's own goal vs. hull. he is probably the most football intelligent goalkeeper in the history. he is composed, he is vocal as well. the point im trying to make is he knows what is required from every position, adn i see him very well becoming our next captain. I'll say pepe aswell. in overall he is very important to the way we play, his distribution, awareness is second to none. in my opinion he is as good as casillas.and still young too. special menton to : Fabio,Riera(I mean it). -

Aurelio and Cashley are both at least as good as Evra. Clichy is nealry world class but i still think he is overrated because of his attacking abilities.

Riera will definately be better next season,people forget heit was his first season, and he was never going to have a torres-like first season. If he was to start next season at left i would not be dissapointed as i truly believe he is talented, but he is never going to be world class, but he is a steal at 7m.

look mate,sometimes you have to pay over the odds to improve. i do not think he is worth 18m, but rafa identifies as a major improvement for the whole team not just at rightback, so we pay, simplez.especially at this financial times. i used the carrick example before, he is a great player but not worth 18m, yet thats what the mancs needed to improve,and he did improve them. johnson will be a good player here and will have an impact. and we dont know he may justify his price afterall, trust rafa.

yipee.........!!!!!!!!!!!! its about time rafa gets his #q targets for whatever money. johnson will be a very good option at the right-hand side and rafa will definately improve him. this purslow fella seems to be hitting the ground running :eek:

and this is exactly what i think happened with pennant, and rafa thought it is not worth the risk having pennant paid alot of cash then refusing to move because of it. These players were brought in a stop-gap till we are in a position to get rafa's #1 targets, players like johnson who can make the rb spot their own.

i really wish arby stays. his versatility is important. about his contract , maybe rafa is letting it run because maybe he thinks in a year darby would be able to step up and compete with Johnson. whether arby leaves or not, Johnson must be brought in YNWA

I can see a glorious partnership between Kuytinho & Johnson. Eventhough at 18m, he is still a good signing, and he will improve us. Carrick was bought for 18m but he is barely worth 14m, but the vile needed him to progress and he improved them, simple as. It's about time we splashed the cash to get rafa's #1 targets instead of settling for 2nd fiddle. YNWA

i dont think it will be as bad as people make out if he goes to chelsea but i would be very surprised if chelsea did better than this season rafa already knows him through and through aqand should know how to wipe the floor with him

He did serve the club for a long period of time, and we all know he loves the club, probably deserved something but certainly not a mosaic,this is for legends.

ngog and other youngsters are developing nicely, there is still question marks around babel's situation but i just have a feeling he will stay and rafa will play him as a striker next season. We only need a worldclass winger who can play on both wings and maybe a cover rightback.
