  1. celtic would never get relegated, even with our restricted transfers there are loads of english teams who would leave parkhead pointless.
  2. if celtic got to the premiership we would be a regular top 4 side within 10 years, with the extra revenue plus television money and sponsorships we would be able to afford the players that we cant afford now.for winning the scottish league we get a grand total of £1m from the SFA , a joke.

  9. Tommy tribute: Celtic line up 'Three Amigos' to salute their old boss Burns Tommy tribute: Celtic line up 'Three Amigos' to salute their old boss Burns By John Greechan and Stephen Mcgowan Last updated at 10:30 PM on 10th April 2009 Celtic hope to reunite the 'Three Amigos' who came to epitomise Tommy Burns' managerial philosophy for a tribute match in his honour. Pierre van Hooijdonk told Sportsmail last night that he had already put the May 31 date in his diary - and the club are keen to secure Paolo di Canio and Jorge Cadete for the game between the current Celtic side and a Tommy Burns Select. Friends reunited: van Hooijdonk Van Hooijdonk said: 'I've already been informed about the game and I'm certainly going to be there. I have already put it in my diary. 'It will be nice to see the other guys again. I hope they will pick me to play - I'm out of contract now anyway!' A bronze sculpture of Burns, who passed away last year aged just 51 following a battle with skin cancer, will also be unveiled at the entrance to the stadium before the match. Burns, who served the club as player, manager and most recently as first-team coach under Gordon Strachan, is remembered for his on-field flair but also the sense of adventure he brought to the team when he took over as boss in 1994. With the terrible trio of van Hooijdonk, di Canio and Cadete leading the attack, the Burns-era team reignited enthusiasm among the Celtic support and laid the groundwork for success further down the line. Strachan said: 'It was a great privilege to be able to call Tommy a friend and I know that I speak for all the players and backroom staff in saying that we are honoured to be taking part in this match in memory of such a tremendous man.' The Select side will be made up of men who played with or for Burns. Tickets will be priced at £15 for adults and £5 for kids, with the Burns family making donations to the Celtic Charity Fund and the Tommy Burns Skin Cancer Trust. Celtic target man Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink, meanwhile, has underlined his desire to stay in Scotland - and is just waiting for the board to activate the one-year option clause in his contract. The Dutch striker, who recently ended a six-month goal drought with strikes against Hamilton and Falkirk, has already given his agent instructions to reach a quick agreement with the club he joined for £3.75million in 2006. And the 30- year-old would even be happy to go further by ending his career at Celtic, so enjoyable has he found life since that move from PSV Eindhoven. Sportsmail understands that terms on the one-year extension have been all but finalised, although Vennegoor of Hesselink hasn't been involved in direct discussions. 'I would love to be at Celtic and play for this club,' he said. 'I read stuff about me being linked with this club or that and that I've said this or that, but no. My main priority is to win the last seven games and I hope to be here next season. 'We haven't spoken about a contract yet but, as for me having fears about my Celtic career ending? That's unbelievable. 'I can't avoid headlines because the papers are in the dressing room but I love playing for this club. We play for the championship and Champions League and we have a great set of fans. You can't wish for much more. 'To stay here for the rest of my career, why not? It's a very good club and I'm still young.' The Dutch forward admitted to feeling relief that his long wait for a return to scoring form has come to an end - although he laughs at talk of him being depressed by the drought. 'Of course, I would be lying if I said I felt great about not scoring - but you still have to work hard for your team and at training,' he said. 'Sometimes it gets to you but you know the time will come when you start scoring again. Sometimes it goes in from two yards, sometimes you score with a part of your body you do other things with and that's football. It's hard to put your finger on why the goals stop.'
