  1. It'd be hard to make ANY realistic comparisons from last season. Even the fucking defending is worse.
  2. Whether it be wages or transfer fees (or both), the one main gripe a lot of fans have with Fenway is that it has cost us far too many players since they've been here.
  3. When is that likely to be though? Is it after the stadium is complete? I would have thought after the season we'd just had, and the fact that over £200 grand a week was coming off the wage bill, it'd of been the perfect opportunity to bring at least two top calibre players in. We may be two steps back again in May.
  4. I think, as both Manchester clubs have proved, top players will come to clubs out of europe/champions league if you pay them top wages. This is were we struggle with fenway.
  5. That's so true. It's also worth noting that the only other time he managed us when their wasn't any turmoil at the club, we were thriving.
  6. I know, never in a million years are we signing someone like Benzema in January. That's the ilk of striker that should have come in during the summer. We are desperate for another striker, and I've got absolutely no faith in the club to bring one in. At least not one that'll make a difference.
  7. Yeah, I agree with that. I wouldn't believe he's not part of the recruitment process. That makes him culpable on some level.
  8. What the fuck are you on about fungal infection? Annoying cunt.
  9. I'm not one for criticising the owners because they've been straight with us from day one. Saying that, it fucking does my head in when it's rebuked out of hand by the echo that we'd be in for certain players (might have been Reus, but not certain). I understand that Fenway are just not going to be competing with the likes of City and Chelsea over salaries, but if they're not, how do we compete on a regular basis? No side can. Look at Dortmund. He builds a top side, winning trophies, getting to finals, but it'll only be short term if you keep losing top players to teams offering more money. Would Suarez have left Chelsea with all those top players around him, all happy at the club? Who knows? He may still have left, but how many Chelsea players have agitated for a move? Hardly any. They're playing with the best players on top money.
  10. Unless we can start competing for top, top players again it's highly improbable that top managers, ones who realistically want to be challenging for the main prizes, are going to want to come here. That's not being defeatist, it's being realistic.
  11. Probably the laziest, most unimaginative signing the club have ever made....and considering he was supplementing a forward line that had just lost arguably one of the best strikers we've seen in a red shirt! Sums us up unfortunately.
  12. Last season felt like the start of the beginning. This season feels more like the beginning of the end.
  13. Haha they are Josef you are correct. Their is a saying though, "I'd fuck it, but I wouldn't hold its hand".
  14. Haha what makes you say that? It's not as if a week before Balotelli signed he said we categorically wouldn't be signing him is it? All managers tell porkies, it only becomes an issue when your team play like strangers every week.
  15. No idea. The lad in question knows someone connected to the club. He seems to get a fair bit of info correct.
  16. By the way a lad called Jay Riley who fairly regularly appears on city talk made the claim.
  17. There were a lot of rumours floating about that Remy failed a drugs test. That would explain us not signing him, it wouldn't justify settling for Balotelli.
  18. That in itself is worrying. Our entire success last season was based on a player who was probably the best in the world, and his strike partner. We've taken them both out of the equation and have gone to absolute shite. It's not as if you could even make a case that we're still creating chances, or we've improved at the back. The past few months have made it look like he's built fuck all in the past few years.
  19. I said the same at the game yesterday. For all his flaws, and he's got quite a few, Rodgers is doing him no favours whatsoever.
  20. Their are very few players we have bought in the past few years that have increased in value during their time here. We really are shite at player recruitment. I read a book a while ago about Geoff Twentyman (can't remember the title). The players he discovered were frightening. It also coincided with our most successful period. Until we get that part of the club right, no manager, regardless of his ability, is going to find bringing trophies back to the club anything other than a pipe dream.
  21. I'm really starting to feel like we're starting over again anyway mate. This season is on a par with his first season. I would actually say it's fucking worse, and considering this is his 3rd season, I'm worried to say the least.
