  1. He's pretty much been the only outfield player who has been consistently good every time he has taken the field. In terms of efficiency and work ethic. If more players had his attitude game after game this season, we'd have a top 4 spot locked up.
  2. Then we should start buying sheep because Lucas has been fantastic for us this season.
  3. You do that for youngsters and players who arent quite up to the challenge though, dont you think? I mean thats how I expect Pacheco to be dealt with next year. With Aquilani, he has looked like the real deal every time out. So I think you could have taken that risk and introduced him for 20-25 minutes in the games where we were desperate of just having another player on the pitch that could play pass-move type of football. Games like: Wolves away after he had a great game vs Spurs. Or, Blackburn away. Yes, both teams are roughhouses but I really think he can deal with that. He has no fear of bully boys, its makes him look even better because he is smarter than them.
  4. If he left, which I dont think is happening IMO. But if he did leave, I'd be more than comfortable with a midfield triangle of Lucas-Stevie-Aquilani. We wont have the aggression of Masch but we'd keep the ball and create chances much easier.
  5. I agree that none of us know the ful extent of his fitness or lack there of. But my issue is that tere have been times when he has been on the bench and with 25 minutes to go we could have really used his abilities to openj up a defense and instead of him being able to do that, he spent his time rooted to the bench. I really dont think he needs to adjust to the Premier League. I think the Premier League needs to adjust to him because he is just that talented. When he has started, when has he ever looked weak or slow? Every time he starts, he looks like he is 5 yards ahead of everyone because those first 5 yards are in the head.
  6. Agreed. As hard as it is to get a boycott of matches, it would be even harder to get a boycott of people buying shirts, imo. Far too many outlets around the world to buy them from.
  7. Thats the thing. How close were we to: Torres Hat Trick, Gerrard 2 assists and hand in all 3 goals, Liverpool 3-2 win. In no way am I blaming Torres but if that happened, this thread would not have been started IMO.
  8. I wouldnt drop him but it is time to move him into another area of the pitch that isnt the middle. It was only for a short time yesterday but when he was moved out of the middle yesterday, he moved a heck of a lot better than he had done for the entire game up to that point. I think when you have players like him, you need to mvoe them around the pitch to find the best area for them to be effective in that particular game. One day it may be right wing, another left wing and another might be CM. Plus, how come nobody brought this up after the last 2 games we have played? Whenever the team plays poorly, for some reason everyone comes back to pointing out that Gerrard was in a mood. Not to say I disagree because I have never spoken to him but I doubt overs on here are speaking to him on a daily basis either, so how would they know what mood he is in? Other than armchair Psychology which isnt always accurate.
  9. Bad refereeing..bad defending for their goal. We just need to settle it down for a little bit
  10. Aquilani on the bench..typical. Get a goal and play good defense. My only 2 wishes.
  11. Fair play to them. Its only a small step but for them its a step in the right direction.
  12. Are there any numbers that show the loss of subscription rates? Serious question, not trying to start and argument or anything.
  13. Why not? As long as the viewing numbers are high, they will pay the money for the rights. And seen as they are trying to put more and more football on tv. I'd imagine that the viewing numbers are still high and might even be growing. Especially around the world.
