Anyone who can't see the benefit of having a player like Kuyt in their team have no idea what it takes to make a team. He has discipline, energy, courage and, despite some peoples misguided views, skill. A fucking gem of a player.

its obvious alright, however he got a big pay rise with his latest contract so he'll just have to honour that if Rafa says he stays. I think he's professional enough to do so as well. Its easy for Rafa this, we want to keep him, however if you offer top doller (i.e 35 million) by a certain date then we can talk, if not fuck off. we can then say to Xabi we tried and it was them that didn't come through.

I think Rafa got it spot on with the timing, let the emotion build up all day and then give him 10 minutes at the end. Sami is a ture legend of the game and I am sad to say that there are fewer and fewer of them about.
