    Torres

I think you have a valid point with Mascherano. all very well being the best around at winning it from the opposition but the idea of football is not to give it to them in the first place. i'm really in 2 minds about him, not sure if it's a concentration thing or he's just a really poor passer of the ball at times. Possibly a mixture of both because his first touch is decent for a player, given his role in the team, but then he follows it up with a missplaced 15 yard pass. Played well overall tonight Was at the game on Sunday and I saw some of that frustration in Torres as well. Sulking might be a bit strong but there was a few runs he made in the first half where he peeled to the edge of the box and Benni and Kuyt couldnt pick him out. Maybe an element of "well Stevie would have picked me out..."
  2. No mate im flyin in and out of JLA. Ryanair took their eye off the ball with prices when the date changed At least you probably have a match ticket...
  3. Sounds like one of those Nike adverts from a few years back..
  4. That's outrageous, I went from 1 to 8 green bars with whatever you did
  5. I seem to remember you saying it being on a Sunday helped you
  6. Alright You might give me a shout whenever you know more Cheers
  7. This would have been one of the funniest posts I've seen in a while if it wasn't actually serious As it looks serious then to answer the question then none of the above happens
  8. Agree with a that. A mixture of static players in the box and simply not having enough bodies in there. I never feel the ball is going to drop to one of our players because we appear to be so outnumbered. I also hate our short corner because at best we drill it at the first defender and get another corner with a chance to put it in properly. Conversely I think the standard our first time delivery into the box has improved this year. no stats mind...
  9. Very true! im on the 7.45am flight over with Sunday night accomodation booked so ill be there don't worry
  10. Nothing very concrete or scientific about this but by the law of averages they have to at least concede a goal pretty soon which would be a start. Someone is going to hopefully just switch off defending a set piece or the opposition will fluke a goal to kick things off Points can get dropped in the unlikeliest of games, it will be sooner rather than later. We're still close enough that we should be just concentrating on winning our own games and any United slip up will see it go back into our own hands
  11. Cheers, appreciate it If you reply saying I can have 1/2 then you can take it ill definitely take them. Would be able to sort you out in advance of flying over if that's a factor Im on here every day despite the low post count so will reply Monday evening because TLW is blocked in work
  12. Also to you Mr Walsh, if there is a spare I'd be all over it...
  13. I see on a thread today you say you might have spare tickets? Just in case you're giving them to strangers on here (like me obviously) then let me be the stranger as I asked way back! If its to a mate then fair enough Im struggling big time I've tried practically everything besides resorting to touts Plus I let you all know about the cheap flights
  14. Yeah the 2nd half was entertaining. ironically some of our most entertaining games are when we go a goal down. the first half was dyer in fairness, was really getting annoyed at all the cheers coming from the next room from people watching the Irish egg chasers
  15. True. on Hreidarsson's goal I think it took a deflection and gave Pepe an overly hard time even after the replays. still should have done better mind
  16. On the Cahill one in the League I think the free kick was too close to zonal mark. IMO you need to be touch tight when the ball comes in at pace from that close to stand a chance of reacting if its on the attacker's head Other than that dont really have a problem with zonal as long as its executed properly and people know exactly their area of responsibility
  17. Hard to say if the straight talking is put on for impact or not. think its just unusual to be so openly critical of players. he'd do well on RTE in Ireland
  18. I find being called 'son' really irritating now that you mention it. one of my mates puts it in nearly all text messages. Think it could be a Scottish thing
  19. Sherwood was asked on Football Matters last Monday what his job description was at Spurs and he said he didnt have one. sounds like he just hangs around for no reason in particular, contributing nothing. not a great deal of time for him I only heard Burley during the match (don't know what he said about Rafa afterwards) but I found myself agreeing with him a lot. Didn't see the "agenda" myself and was just telling it as he saw it him himself. Portsmouth's defending was "dross" and he just went ahead and said it. He said negative things about us - so what? We would be "bunched" or whatever he said if we cant keep Torres fit for the rest of the season. He didnt say anything that hasnt been said a hundred times on here about taking too long to make substitutions or criticising the ability of some of our players. I just think some people are over sensitive to any negative comments. Enjoy the win and just turn off the post match comments
  20. Read the boards for a few days/week before jumping in to posting would be my advice. im still more of a reader than a poster as the post count would suggest though... Then again it depends what your posts say more than just being new...
  21. Cheers ill bang it in earlier for the Sunderland game. I seem to have a different ticket source every time i go the match lately. thought it would be Hell freezing over before I got lucky in an e-season ballot but that came up trumps for Hull
  22. How far in advance of general sale day should you send the postal app? i sent it yesterday as i thought they'd disregard applications that arrived before general sale day because postal was in the same section of the hierarchy of getting tickets as phone lines Have I now got little/no chance of being successful for the City game using this way? nothing was charged to my fancard yet and couldnt get through on phonelines before I got the automated message saying sold out Cheers Hamstrung...or anyone else...
