Just been listening to Colin Murray on 5 Live. As you might predict they did the Liverpool thing in the first half hour. The usual sh**e was coming out from the 2-bit pundits regurgitating the usual agenda. Then on came Aldo. Loyal to the core, putting some realism back into the debate. Being polite and refraining from telling Nevin and Groves that they should go to Talksport and take Mackenzie's 7 pieces of silver if they just want to spark tabloid-esque reaction by providing reason and a bit of calm. He doesn't deny there is a serious situation. He doesn't deny that the sqaud isn't strong enough. But he won't be drawn into bad-mouthing specific players, the manager or most importantly the club and providing provocative quotes for the media. Whelan and Lawro, watch, listen and learn.

I don't want to see him retire for the simple reason that while he is on the pitch or bench he has no impact other than being the subject of much abuse. Once that twa* retires he will be all over the media giving "expert punditry" to anyone who will pay and probably wind me up as much as that c**t Collimore!

I didn't get a chance to get on the phone to them from work today and now I can't get the online link to work. But judging by recent sales, the Johnny-come-latelies getting dissallusioned already and Bolton games generally being shite, I suspect this might go to general sale!

My criticism's of Lucas since he arrived have been firstly that he was too weak and getting pushed off the ball. He has since bulked up a bit and has improved that aspect of his game. Secondly when he did start winning balls, they didn't stay won - he would get the challenge in but lose possession straight away through the second ball. This season that is happening less and less. Thirdly his timing was awful in his tackles and he was forever giving away free kicks in dangerous areas. Again, he has improved significantly in this area this season. The next aspect is probably that highlighted by Dirty Sanchez above - he telegraphs his passes and isn't creative enough. He also passes sideways too much, which is another dimension of his lack of creativity. However, if he has identified those earlier weaknesses, worked on them and improved, then shouldn't he be given the chance to improve on the next elelment of his game? He is still young. The media bandwagon is on his back, so therefore it seemingly becomes acceptable to get on his back as a fan, when really, he aint that bad. He gets a disproportionate amount of criticism because we've replaced a creative midfielder with another holding midfielder. That's not his choice. And this is not a criticism of selling Alonso - I see that as an inevitability. We just need another creative midfielder alongside Mascherano, and perhaps Lucas as a back up for Mascherano, or for those games when we need two to hold.

Most of what you said has been rounded on by others already (and maybe the bit I've highlighted, cos to be honest I've skip read most of this thread) but that bit in bold is at least right imo. And for that very reason I do not subscribe to Sky or buy any other paper produced by News International. The Boycott of the S*n should remain until eternity but more people should go the extra length and avoid giving any money to that twat Murdock's empire at all.

Dossena is understandably coming in for scrutiny today. I think Aurelio has been looking good in the last few games, but to be fair I was in the Kop for the Fiorentina game and Dossena chased a ball down towards the touchline that was looking like it was going out but got there and whipped a decent cross in. I said then to my mate that Babel would have looked at that and thought, "Nah, fuck it, it'll probably go out." Have faith.

Sometime in January I'm probably going to Holland and Turkey with work. So Galatasaray, Fernerbahce or Eindoven will do for me! Free flight and hotel - lovely! Fingers crossed.
