  1. Aguero scored 2 goals last night as Independiente won 2-0 8)
  2. a snippet from the echo- The Liverpool boss says the quality of work of his three Spanish lieutenants; Pako Ayesteran, Paco Herrera and goalkeeper coach Jose Ochotorena, is the reason why the absence of a high profile ex-player has gone unquestioned. Indeed, it's a testimony to how much Herrera has become absorbed within the Anfield fabric, his departure this summer will raise concern among fans, well aware of the Spaniard's major contribution to the red revival. With Herrera's exit confirmed, Benitez says he's planning to fill a huge void in the summer. "We need to use Paco as much as we can before he leaves. He's been very important for us with his scouting and coaching. He is also a fantastic person, so it is a bad loss," said Benitez. "But we must understand his reasons. He needs to be with his family. He has a wife and young daughter in Spain. "The reasons for his leaving show the kind of person he is. I know he loves working here and is very grateful to the club, but you must always think about your family. "We're thinking how we will change the structure but ensure we work in the same way. We're very happy with the work of Frank McParland, who works alongside Paco in the scouting. "I have some ideas and the main thing is not to change what we're doing now too much, because there has been a lot of progression." It remains unclear if Benitez will look back to Spain or search closer to home for Herrera's replacement.

  5. The Argentinian press have got a campaign going that is telling the Argentina boss to pick Aguero in his world cup squad, not sure if it will be effective or not. Aslong as Aimar, Tevez or Riqulme (sp?) don't get injured i can't see Aguero making it.
  6. Dates have already been finalised either side of Easter for the two-legged final whoever gets through to face Liverpool with both games televised live on Sky television. The first leg is at Anfield on Thursday, April 13 (kick-off 7.30pm) with the second leg at either the City of Manchester Stadium or St James' Park on Friday, April 21. http://icliverpool.icnetwork.co.uk/0500liv...-name_page.html
  7. I just saw a clip of Aguero playing pro evo with some sports host and he was Liverpool ;) and he beat AC Milan O_o The player is a class act and has the potential to be as good as Messi and Aimar but i just can't see us spending 15mil or so on him but maybe with investment we might, Inter seemed to have cooled their interest in him for some reason but Barca and Real have upped theirs, here's hoping Parry can pull this one out the bag.
  8. some more good news from Rafa- "The first check was bad news, now it is more positive for Momo," said Benitez. "We are now awaiting another opinion but I expect and hope to see him back training with us soon."
  9. the specialists is Portugal said they think he has a 20-30 % chance of making a full recovery :whoops: :whoops:
  10. good to see Agger get another game under his belt as it will only help his fitness. Can see this game being quite phsical even though its a freindly so hopefully it will help him adapt to the style of play a little bit more. Be interesting to see how Anderson and Hammil do, and good to see Barragan back.
  11. I think Xabi Priento is a unrealitic target as he is their best player and they will not want to get rid off him half way through the season especially with them involved in a relegation battle. I hope Rafa can pull one out the bag and sign a top quality right winger before the window closes.
  12. I hope god comes home, if we can get him on a free and on about 20k a week wages i think we are in a win win situation and the only person that could lose out is god if he fails to deliver, i know his hip is f****** but i think he could be our supersub and he will definatly lift the atmosphere at Anfield.
  13. Riise- he is the most comftable player out the 3 on the ball, he is the best going foward, he is more reliable than Djimi and has improved his defencive game this year. Also he takes a good free kick (well when his shot is not closed down! )
  14. If we were skint we would not have offered 12mil for Owen and 10mil for Simao at the end of the last transfer window. Rafa is unwilling to pay over the odds for a player which can be a frustarting for us and them but in the long wrong i would prefer us not to get ripped off. Rafa isn't going to come out and say that we have plenty of cash to spend on new players is he ?? Just wouldn't make sense and it is hard enough to sign players in Jan (as Rafa has said on many occasions) as the the teams don't want to sell their best players so they raise their prices as we have seen with Simao (15mil?) Pennant (7mil?) etc.
