The threat of a breakaway league is a non starter. The clubs may preach that is what they would like, but they could not do that without the consent of the national FA's who happen also to be part of the UEFA set up. The game is bigger than any one club and Platini will invigerate the European set up which has concentrated more on making TV deals rather than developing the game .

Rushian, being an exiled scouser and regularly talking to Fans from other clubs on the train to and from the match, there is a common link that most fans respect the traditions and local customs of the club they support. What I have found is that they are more prescribed when it comes to all things Liverpool but only by an 'elite' of fans who never existed when I use to stand on the Boyspen or the Kop. Look back in time even more recently, and you would see union flags(not many mind) with Liverpool FC and most came with fans from Liverpool and its hinterland. The big thing that many away fans like about coming to Anfield (Mancs excepted) is that they have a great day out. Why is that ? They are made welcome by the people both in the bars and at the ground. The only sense of KFS appears to be on forums and thank christ most fans give them a wide berth.

Harry Who ' ell? He gets a lot of forum space (and I dont mean just on here, but in general)for somebody who plays very few games. Anybody know why, cos I am at a loss !

Spot on analysis there. Paranoia always prevails after a defeat, never mind a thrashing.

The disppointing factors for me were that although we had most of the second half to equalize and maybe go on to win, we never looked liked we would score other than from shots outside the box. We lost 10 minutes trying to come terms with the fact that we were losing. The Crouch substitution upset the balance of the team and he wasn't exactly pleased was he ? Sends bad vibes to the camp this does. Speedy was not good (again) but he is young and hopefully will get better.Important to avoid knee jerk re-actions as we should have been ahead at half time . I think Rashid that nobody knows and basically people will look for a race related incident because how could such a hero do that? What he did was disgraceful and his religion is irrelevant.We expect behaviour like that from people like Bowyer who is nobody's hero.
