  9. was a great season in terms of consistency. had two spells of winning ten league games in a row i think. remember starting quite well then getting that 4-1 thumping by chelsea at home. then crouch scored his first against wigan and went on a scoring spree around christmas and new year. gerrard scored 23 goals that season largely from right midfield and ended up walking away with the pfa player of the year and righly so. the fa cup run was also immense, including the infamous 5-3 away at luton when we recovered from 3-1 down, the win over the mancs (probably the worst united team i'd seen at the time), spanking brum 7-0 and the convincing win over chelsea in the semi's when kewell had the game of his life and ran rings around geremi who maureen had inexplicably moved to right back for the game. you could argue that the final against west ham was the worst we played in that entire cup run.
