  1. No mate, I'd surprised if any Spring Training games are on ESPN America to be honest. I just kept an eye on the box score on the Braves site. I've been thinking about trialling MLBTV, but I think there are regional restrictions, or there certainly were when I checked last, I think....
  2. The Braves first Spring Training game ended in a 4-2 defeat at the hands of the Mets. Both side lock horns once more tomorrow, as well as 4 other games, as MLB gears up for another season.
  3. Sorry, should have said the new and improved eSata. The transfer speeds were increased last year, up to 6Gbit/s I believe. USB3 is rumoured to be between 4.8Gbit/s and 8Gbit/s, it changes from site to site as far as I can see. There's a lot of debate as to which method is quicker. The proof will be in the eating.... Though PC Pro have performed benchmark testing and USB3 easily sees off eSata. These will make the transferring and storing of HD and future 3D media much easier, and the storage capacity for portable devices will increase substantially as a result.
  4. This worth another attempt tomorrow or Thursday?
  5. Doesn't appear that anyone is doing this "on the cheap". I've had a look at the usual sites to compare prices. Game - £37.99 HMV - £39.99 Play - £39.99 Amazon - £37.73 Zavvi - £37.95 The Hut - £37.73 Here's some results from one of those comparison sites. There's a couple of places cheaper than those above, though I've personally not heard of some of the retailers, so take care if you decide to go down those routes.
  6. eSATA and USB3 will open up all sort of new fangled gadgetry.
  7. Tis all good. I've reset the displayed date and time, it knows it's March..... Wonder if we'll ever find out what the problem really was and how they fixed it?
  8. Personally, I'm not bothered about the trophy aspect of this, the save games however may be a pain in the arse. I'm assuming that Sony would be able to recover all this data up to the point of failure, or near as dammit. I've not had my PS3 on since Saturday, and I don't intend to switch it on until the bug has been confirmed as being fixed, so hopefully I won't see anything amiss.
  9. I know what you're saying. I'm eager to get home from work, even more so than usual, and see if all is good in the world again.
  10. If it is a GMT thing, then PSN is going to take an almighty hit in just over 2 hours, as people test it out.
  11. Didn't know that. Thanks for the info. I'd have thought that the US specific consoles would be set to EST, or perhaps PST, as we know how the Americans like to control their own things.
  12. I have no idea, if it is GMT related I'll be surprised, but not at the same time, if you get me? I have no idea how PSN is setup, whether it's localised to continents, or if it runs off a central hub in a specific location, London for example. If it's the latter, then the GMT issue is certainly a feasible one. If the former, then I have not got a clue.
  13. If this were indeed true, I'd expect to start seeing updates from people in Asia and Australasia saying that service has been resumed. I honestly think there is more to it than what is being relayed to users by Sony.
  14. I thought there was a large Live outage around the release of the original Modern Warfare? Either way, there are always going to be problems that trip these companies up, and it's unfortunate that they can't be identified until the shit hits the fan.
  15. Too much time for a fix as they are quoted as saying. They should have said that updates would be provided every hour until a resolution had been found and a fix put in place. As you say, once 24 hours comes around, people will be fuming, more so than they are now.
  16. Yes they will, but they've got little right to, seeing all the problems that Xbox users have experienced since release. It's very tit for tat the discussions about the online capabilities for each console. I, like many others, own both and find PSN to be streets ahead of Live. Both consoles were bought on their individual release dates, and I didn't like Live from day one.
  17. Every little helps, apparently... Enjoy your session if you do decide to go online.
  18. It would seem that this is all one can do right now. I believe that they haven't got a clue how to fix it, which is why they've said 24 hours, in the hope that it will somehow fix itself. Pretty standard response from a big company when things go pear shaped, though the 24 hour turnaround is a little excessive for an initial announcement.
  19. Thanks. I thought it may have been a genuine workaround, though not one you're supposed to do. The XBox lot will probably be laughing their tits off right now, forgetting all the RROD problems that have and will continue to plague that console.
  20. When you search for the error on Google, the below YouTube video appears in the search results. I can't watch the video in work.... But perhaps someone could have a watch and explain what the video is about? 1CJ9Q8bG-0s
