  1. Perhaps, it wasn't a good timing to get my point across as the whole issues get muddled up. Just for the record, I am not the fan of Mourinho style of football but no one can deny that he is a winner. Appointing Mourinho for short-term might just be what this club needs. As for Rafa, he had his go and we can see that it isn't working , so let's learn from our past mistake. We kept the previous managers far too long when things are clearly not working out for them and nobody can accuse us of not giving the managers fair crack of the whip. The whole situation on the forum is reminicent of the Houllier's last moment. We had pro and anti-Houllier camp calling each other all sort of names. At the end of the day, we are all Liverpool supporters and we want to see the club at the top of the football summit and to do that, perhaps we might have to adopt different approach to the whole things. Best regards, km9
  2. I don't usually post but this man speaks the truth. You guys need to wake up and take the action rather than bithcing and moaning against each other. You should all rally behind S.O.S and act NOW or look back a few years later and regret. This is not just about managerial issue but both on and off the pitch issues. Do not settle for second best and content but demand the best because we were once the Greatest of all. Sorry for the rant and now back to hiding.....
  3. Quaresma would be the cheapest and of all the talented players that people mentioned constantly (Nasri, Benzema, Diego, Van der Vart etc) and probably most skillful. Will he succeed here? I remember people having same doubt about Torres before he came here. I think he will do well here.
  4. Read it on YNWA that Hick junior went down to Sandon after the match and was chased out by angry reds.
  5. I am getting bored with this but another qoute from RAWK:  "Evening all will use this thread to post as the other take over thread has been locked (yes i know first post and all that) but just to say that i have just woken from a dawn return flight from Dubai after three weeks on holiday visiting family i am am amazed by the silence in the UK media regarding our take over. in Dubai it has been common knowledge for weeks of the pending deal, that an agreement in principle was made a couple of weeks back (confirmed by a senior DIC official in a radio interview) the agreed fee was circa $900m and due diligence should be completed by March. My Arabic is not as strong as it was and there is a big dialect difference but i heard it. When asked about Rafa the interviewee declined to answer stating that it was all one step at a time. just thought I'd share. Have alerted family in Dubai to let me know as and when any other news breaks out there.":sleep::sleep:
  6. Couldn't managed the whole thing as streaming was really bad but according to some who has seen it, it's just the re-hash of old news. The only thing positive for me was that the local media must have obtaind the permission from DIC to aired that on the TV news and that is a good sign.
  7. I don't think any fan gives a shit where the money come from. The problem with two yanks is that they've got shit past and no money!!!
  8. I think the next two home games will be vital in terms of demonstration. These two Yanks are on the edge and we need to land that final killer push to send them down. Obiously, this rumour is nothing but give us the impetus and motivation to keep going on.
  9. Posted on RAOTL, "Hicks is digging in in the hope he can squeeze more money out of DIC. Meanwhile he'll be hoping the DIC news will bring a 'feel good' factor to affairs, allowing him time to squirm back into our good books prior to coming over for the Inter game. (Yes, he intends to) DO NOT LET THIS LYING BASTARD OFF THE HOOK!" RAOTL.co.uk forum • View topic - *** Gillett sells to DIC *** DIC will be making sure Rafa gets substantial funds in the summer.
  10. I am ashamed that I voted "yes" but I also forgot to add that I do not want him sack during this season (I am not back tracking what I said earlier). I think he has earnt the right to prove until the end of the season at least. Rafa is great tactician but that alone will not make him succeed and he needs help from others such as having reliable assistant and coaches that works other aspect of the team development. Will he realised and remedy this? I doubt so as he just lost his right-hand man yet stubbornly refuse to replace. We need to improve our corners, free kick and general passing of the ball , all of which are basic and even ordinally folks like us can identify since the beginning. I mean, he work with the team daily and I am sure he cannot be blind to see that. We are still not as comfortable on the ball as we should be and there are so many deficiency within the team that one has to question what he's been doing the past three years. I'll admit that the current team is a lot better than GH years and he had to rebuild the team from scratch etc. but after three years and our general play hasn't improve that much. We never manage to build a cohesive team due to the amount personnel joining and leaving the club during past 3 years. I mean why buy a striker like Bellamy, Crouch and not play to their strenght?( by the way, I was never in favour of either purchase)and why bring back Fowler? It was better to keep Pongolle as he would have offered much more as a late sub. There were too many bizarre decision. I wonder who was advising him or are they all "Yes" man. Just because Bellamy was cheap doesn't justify the purchase. Yes, we did get our money back but there were greater cost as Bellamy was not the first/right choice and not featured enough during last campaign and that had negative effect. The same thing is happening now with Crouch. There were just far too many unnessary buys and too many quick fix buys that never worked out. It is no suprised that most of trasnfer took ages to materialised since the people that deal with those matter have to get rid of dross which take up considerable time before concentrating on the "real/important" targets. I am sure anyone with experience in running the business will tell you that massive turnover of staff is never going to add to stability of any organization. I think that Rafa is trying to take on far too much responsibilties and struggling to fit all into daily schedule. He was a simple coach/manager that concentrate on team playing during his most succesful time at Valencia. He didn't have to deal with all the admin side of things. Are these extra duties putting unnecessary burden on him and lose track of most important things that he does best? I mean all this is just my humble opinion from reading and listening to what is available just like all of you, none of us know what really goes on inside the club. I must reitterate that I love Rafa and want him to succeed and he deserve our support at least until the end of season but ultimately it's Liverpool FC that I care most. Will he succeed and prove all doubters wrong and hang their head in shame? I sincerely hope so as nobody deserve success more than him but put all the emotion and bias aside, are you really confident after seeinfg the last three years that he will see his shortcoming and change them? I really hope that answer is YES. Sorry again for the long boring post again (now you know why I don't post much)and poor grammer etc. Emotion is running high and finding it difficult to keep cool at the moment. Regards to all fellow REDS.
  11. I am afraid I voted "Yes" and I am very sad about it as I like Rafa a lot especailly the way he conduct himself in public. He is an honourable man, kind of man that we all want Liverpool manager to behave unlike some of the manager in the game now. But the question is, "Is this enough?". The man is a genious when it comes to tactics but sadly lacking in his man management skill and coaching. I consider Wenger the best coach currently in Premiership and Mourinho and O'neil as the best motivator with Ferguson having balance of good coaching and man management/motivation. You could see in our play that players are burden with too much tactics and basic principle like pass and move has been sacrifced and replaced with rigid displine play. I know Rafa like the style of Milan team under Sachi and he recreated this during his Valencia days with great success but having trouble doing it here with us. Why? This is a million dollor question and I can only offer my opnion. I think both two great teams that I mentioned above had great skillful players, individuals with flair and good first touch and strong athletes those were combined with great tactics and discipline to form very formidable teams. Rafa has manged to acheive that with Valencia but the players weren't bought by him, they were bought by someone else who emphasis on the football players is different from that of Rafa. I just think that he isn't very good at buying players and coaching them to become better technically. As I said he is great tactician and you can see that how players become more discipline but not neceesary a better technically. I don't know, may be he needs to bring in another coach to make us better technically as our current level of football is nowhere near that of United or Arsenal in attack and creativity. I have a lot more points but don't really want to bore you all and the reason for this long post is really just to explain my "Yes" vote. Km9
