  1. What's wrong with him? More specifically, what's the injury?
  2. Such lovely names you use... European progress will cost the other sides points. They're not used to going so far in the European Cup. Utd and Arsenal have normally bottled Europe by Feb and have been able to concentrate on the league.
  3. Wigan 0-0 Arsenal Utd and Chelsea not at their best, as the weekend's results prove It's on...
  4. Also had 2 shoot-outs v Celtic (86 & 88) in the Dubai Super League Cup. Won one and lost one.
  5. Leeds 74 Charity Shield Roma 84 Portsmouth 92 FA semi Wimbledon LC 93-4 (LOST) Birmingham 95 FA 3rd rnd Birmingham 01 LC final Ipswich 03 LC Spurs 04/05 LC Milan 05 WHU FA Cup final 06 Chelsea 07
  6. Agree with the general consensus on some but: Shankly - Yeats & St John. These were the 2 most important signings in the clubs' history. They kickstarted everything Shankly did which dragged us into our glory era. Paisley - Rush. Kenny was the better player but signing a guy from Chester City who went on to score 346 goals... Dlaglish - McMahon. We'd gone through a mediocre 84/85 without replacing Souness. Kenny did it with his first signing. McMahon was an awesome player and the heartbeat of that wonderful 87/88 team. Evans - Scales. This signing signified the change in formation which defined the Evans era and brought 2 and a half years of truly memorable football. Scales was the best player in 94/95, in my opinion. Also, it's becoming a common myth that that team couldn't defend but look at the stats...one of the meanest defences each year with Scales there.
  7. Very good read though, especially the descriptions of the massive games. Winter is a great writer.
  8. He also makes only one reference in the whole book to Biscan and calls him a tit!
