  1. In 30 to 50 years from now, papers will be released which explain the true story behind this AS stuff and the orchestrated attempts to smear and undermine the Labour leadership. Until then, everybody in the media will keep pretending this is a good faith discussion from a group of concerned individuals who have the good of the Labour Party and the country at heart. Its amazing how many times this trick can be attempted by the same characters without them being called out on it
  2. This one from Luis Garcia would be in my top 5 that I've seen. The direction and speed he got on the ball from the angle his body was in was unbelievable. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1i6JLjNHEq4
  3. Me too. I fear United are going to over run us all of the pitch. Most worried I have been going to the Theatre of Flukes in years.
  4. Spot on. Shit happens, it's up to referees to give the decisions, its up to the players to do anything they can get away with to win. I don't neccessarily like the fact that the game is that cut throat, but that's the reality. Our fans should be less concerned about the great 'injustice' suffered by Mansfield and more concerned about the fact we are through to the next round of a major cup competition.
  5. Going through is the only thing that matters to me. We were hated in the 70's and 80's when we were winning everything in sight. I have no problem being eternally despised by everybody as long as we are successful. If Suarez would have done as you suggested, we may well have ended up getting beat today, as Mansfield's goal would have taken on a completely different significance as an equaliser.
  6. Fair play, sorry la. I have turned it off and I'm now watching Stand By Me on Channel 5. River Phoenix's untimely death was a tragedy.
  7. Seriously, why are you arsed? We are through, onto the next game.
  8. I might send a letter to the club drawing their attention to Champion's comments on commentary following Suarez's goal, which were fucking scandalous. Calling the goal into question is one thing, straight up calling Suarez a cheat is another. I thought I was watching the game on Mansfield TV, not subscription-only, supposedly neutral ESPN.
  9. As a neutral, that incident was a fantastic example of sportsmanship. As a West Ham fan, I would have been fucking fuming that he didn't put the ball in the net. The final responsibility for today's incident is with the referee. Suarez is a winner and he tries to win by any means neccessary. A few more in our sqaud with an attitude like that and we might not need to worry about how Stoke get on any more.
  10. More pictures How a redeveloped Anfield could look - This Is Anfield That design would look ok. Not too different from the current set up. We'll see.
  11. Cheers for signing mate. Maragaret Aspinall (HFSG)said when he announced his retirement that they were glad he was going but questioned the fact that he was leaving on full pension before the IPCC investigation was done. Sheila Coleman from the HJC has already retweeted the petition, so it appears as if the main campaign groups are onboard with the demands in he petition.
  12. That's the whole idea of the petition. If we get the signatures we need and secure the debate, it will put the Home Secretary in a public position that she will be under pressure to respond to. As far as the IPCC investigation is concerned, it will be up to us to again put the political pressure on to make sure it doesn't drag on for longer than it has to. The first task though is to not give Bettison his easy way out. Please sign the petition. Lets get the signatures and then worry what their response will be.
  13. I appreciate that, but if the IPCC's findings don't suggest criminal conduct, then any professional misconduct won't be able to be dealt with before he is collecting his fat juicy pension, a significant proportion of which will be funded by the people of Merseyside. He shouldn't be allowed to walk away before the investigation has been carried out and he can be sacked for any professional or criminal misconduct he is found to have been guilty of.
  14. I want him held to account as well, whether that be through being disciplined or formally prosecuted. However, the Independent Police Complaints Commission have already siad that they are limited in what they can do if he retires. This is his escape route, he knows that and that's why he is retiring. He shouldn't be allowed to retire from the force with his honour in tact before a full investigation has been carried out. Unless we do something about it, that is exactly what will happen. Sign the petition and see were it takes us. If nothing else, it may get the Government answering some awkward questions and having to declare their position.
  15. I have set up a petition calling on the Government to postpone Norman Bettison's retirement until his actions relating to Hillsborough have been fully invetsigated and any subsequent disciplinary or criminal proceedings have been considered. 100,000 signatures gets the issue considered for debate in Parliament, so please sign and share as widely as possible. Please remember to click the link in your emails after you have signed otherwise your signature won't register. Don't let Bettison ride off into the sunset before justice is done. Justice for the 96. Postpone Norman Bettison's retirement - e-petitions
