  1. What are people's experiences of the city and the people? I'm a scouser but haven't lived there for eight years, but I must admit that when I go back I'm often struck by how rude people can be. I tend to hold doors open and things for people, more out of habit than anything else, but can count on one hand how often I've been thanked for doing so. The level of self-absorption seems off the scale among the younger mob in town too. I've often thought that the worst of Liverpool people - not all of them by any means - but the very worst of them, embrace the worst features of both the working and middle classes. On the one extreme, they can posses the classlessness and the vulgarity of the 'lower classes', and the extreme "look at the fucking state of your trainers, shoes, car lad!!" snobbery of the middle classes. In fact, I think you're genuinely hard pressed to find an appetite for consumerism and shallowness as ravenous as you find among younger scousers.
  2. I've noticed more and more supermarkets are adopting this frankly ridiculous under 25 policy for purchasing alcohol and presumably fags. The under 21 policy at least has some basic logic, but I see absolutely no reason for upping this limit to 25. How many 17 year olds look over 21? Is there such a bad problem of underage kids drinking alcohol they bought from supermarkets that adopt ONLY an under 21 policy? Methinks more sinister tactics are afoot, surreptitiously attempting to encourage ID to be applied for and carried around.
  3. you first stayed over at a girlfriend/boyfriend's home? I was already pregnant before my boyfriend (went on to be husband) was allowed to stay over at my house, (i was living on my own in one of my grandads houses but my grandad wouldn't allow him to stay) Given a recent status update i've seen its got me thinking, my daughter is almost 15, not on my life would i let her stay at her boyfriends this side of 18 minimum. Actually she's not allowed a boyfriend anyway so its pointless raising the issue as far as she is concerned. I'm questioning the GF as the age they were when they first stayed over at a boyfriend/girlfriend’s house without parental permission and when they stayed over with said permission. Me, without permission 17 With permission erm, 17.
