Nov 1: Reports today that a Chelsea player has apparently said “I’d rather lose than win for Mourinho”. Cue all manner of outrage from people saying that players should want to win for the fans and because they’re paid a shitload of money. Yeah, they should, but that’s not always how it works as they are subject to human emotions like the rest of us, and if some of them hate the manager then they won’t all take the Carragher / Gerrard / Alonso approach and just do their job regardless. Ask yourself this, if Mourinho was your boss would you lay it all on the line for him if you knew that by doing well you'd be keeping him in a job? It's not quite as black and white an issue as a lot of people would have you believe. Mourinho is such a loathesome, self serving twat that I find it difficult to castigate any player that might want him out. This isn't self centred prima donna footballers screwing over one of the game's good guys, and if this is what's happening at Chelsea then they're only following the example set by Real Madrid. Funny though how everyone just assumes when anything negative about an “un-named player” comes out that it must be John Terry. There’s absolutely no way that this is Terry, but everyone just assumes the worst about him because he’s such a twat. For what it's worth, my money is on Hazard, Matic or - more likely - Ivanovic. Nov 2: Speaking of Mongo though, he's in the news today after having a pop at Robbie Savage... "When players have not had a career, played at a really bad level... Robbie Savage being one. He's dug me out a couple of times. You take it as a footballer, as an individual. I'll take it from the Rios, Carraghers and Nevilles. All day long. From others? Nah." Savage played at a bad level? Nah I'm norravintha. Terry could have said "I don't care what Savage thinks as he's a knob who talks complete bollocks" and I'd be with him, as would most of you I expect. But going down the "I had a better career than you so your opinion is worthless" road just makes him look like a cunt. Again. Nov 3: Roy Keane slams Ashley Young for diving, labelling him “a disgrace” and saying “if Ashley Young is a Manchester United player then I’m a Chinaman”. Loy Keane? Wait, can I say that? Hope so, as I just did. Also today, Louis Van Gaal got Chris Smalling’s name wrong again, calling him Michael. It’s the second time he’s done it and the first time he did it Smalling was actually sat next to him. How long before Smalling just starts going by the name Michael just for convenience, like Rodney in Only Fools & Horse when Trig always called him Dave? The natives are becoming increasing restless though, they booed the shit out of Van Gaal tonight when he subbed Martial for old bog brush head. They wanted Rooney off instead. Rooney then scored the winner. Stoopid mancs. It's a wonder Van Gaal didn't just drop his kecks and yell "ave some of this, you clueless wankers". All in good time though. Nov 4: Talk today about Gerrard coming back, possibly even as a player. Not going to happen, too many stumbling blocks in terms of his LA Galaxy contract, not to mention Klopp might not want him. Good to see Klopp maintaining a dialogue with him though, and if he thinks there should be a role for him somewhere then great. If he doesn’t, it shouldn’t be forced on him, much as I’d love to see Gerrard back. Can’t help thinking though that I’d like to see him on the field again, if only to right the wrong of how he went out last time. That shit just wasn’t right, getting hammered by Palace in his last home game and then bummed by Stoke in his final game in red. That's not how he deserved to go out, and it would have been nice to see him get a second chance like Fowler did.
