  1. What does everyone think of this ongoing fued between The Police and The Tories. The Police claiming its pay back from the Tories for not getting the pay restructure they wanted in 93. They even rolled out David Rathband on Webcam to ask Theresa May 'I made £33k last year, am I not worth it?'
  2. Top fucking idea Speeding drivers given choice of kids quiz instead of taking fine SPEEDING drivers outside a Merseyside school were put before a different type of judge and jury. Those breaking the limit outside St Andrew The Apostle primary school in Halewood yesterday were given a choice – accept the points and the fine or go and face the young pupils for a grilling. A panel of six youngsters awaited the law breakers, ready to quiz them as to why they were going faster than they should’ve been. Police in the morning caught so many drivers breaking the speed limit on Higher Lane, adults were queuing up on the small wooden benches in the assembly hall to be the next called to answer for their actions. After being taught a lesson by the pupils the motorists then watched a moving video about parents who had lost children after they had been knocked down by speeding drivers. In all, the police pulled over 20 drivers and all of them opted to go before the panel of youngsters. Taxi driver James Woods lives near the school and was one of the first to be pulled over after doing 36mph on the 30mph stretch. He said: “I just wasn’t concentrating. You slip for a second and you go over the speed limit. “You got a real interrogation from the kids which was enlightening really. It shows they are thinking about it and so should we be. “I think this gets the message home more than fines or points. Fines should be more in my opinion. If it was £500, not £60, people would think more. “I’m on the road all day every day, have been a taxi driver for 21 years and only ever had three points on my licence so I try to keep to the limit all the time.” The idea of getting the drivers into school came from the children themselves. Andy Wilson, road safety manager for Knowsley council, said: “We were teaching the children about crossing the road and stopping distances, letting them use the speed guns and they asked me why people drive so fast past their school. “I said the best people to ask were the drivers. We do a lot of work with the police and they had issues with speeding on this road so the two came together nicely.” Sgt Paul Mountford, of Merseyside Police, said: “We are not looking at really fast speeding, they will still get a ticket, but those drivers two, three or four miles over the limit. “Even that small amount has a great effect on stopping distances and can make the difference between stopping safely and hitting a child. “It has been well received. It is a different approach and I hope the drivers have learnt something today.” Jan Cunningham, head at St Andrew, said: “Speeding is a big problem outside here. People don’t realise that although it is a main road into town, it is a 30mph limit. “I think this message is more profound when it comes from the children themselves. It hits home more. “They have thought long and hard about what they want to say to the drivers and I hope it is a message that lasts. “Some of the themes and the posters the children have come up with are very hard-hitting, they put things very simply in the ways an adult might not. “We are very proud of the work they are doing.” Local councillor, David Lonergan, said: “It’s a unique approach and having seen the impact it has had on the drivers here, it is something we will roll out right across Knowsley to get drivers everywhere to slow down.” Radar surveys outside St Andrew have shown in the past that some drivers were travelling at speeds up to 46mph on Higher Road. Speeding drivers were lined up outside classroom waiting for a ticking off from children THEY sat lined up on the wooden benches in the assembly hall with the look on their faces that said they knew they had done wrong. And then, as they were called forward one-by-one, the drivers caught speeding outside St Andrew The Apostle primary school had to face a panel of pupils. Many of the drivers bowed their heads when asked by an angelic little face to "take a moment to think about what if a child from our school had run out in front of you". Among the panel was Sophie, 11, who said: "The cars can be scary because they go too fast. "The drivers that we met today seemed embarrassed about being pulled over." Daniel, eight, said: "There are too many drivers speeding outside our school and it makes us feel unsafe" Another Sophie, also 11, said: "We hope the drivers will remember the message we taught them."
  3. The law is now a parody of itself. Those who thought barmy right wingers were just being thick when claiming the law on many occasions favoured the rights of the criminal and not the victim should take notice of this. Homeowner jailed for tackling burglar - Crime, UK - The Independent But it's a hallmark of civilised society to allow criminals who have over 50 fucking convictions to roam free and commit MORE crimes since this incident? What a fucking sham. The judge should be sacked and the true victim, who has been locked up should be freed and awarded a medal for standing up to the scum of society.
