  1. I mean would anyone be upset if he was moved on? I don't see the next manager being desperate to keep him. He just can't be relied on and managers don't like taking risks with unreliable players when they're new in a job.
  2. Tbf Diaz has been better as the season has gone on and he can get at the full back without problems. Annoyingly no one makes a fucking run when he's running at defenders.
  3. This is what he is. He should be a rotation option but just can't be relied on to score more. We were had off on price, felt a bit of a panic buy tbh.
  4. They didn't for the first 10 tbh, we had lots of time and space and looked dangerous early on. I think after a few misses the team start to feel a drop in confidence as you see the pace dip
  5. You can tell he doesn't know what to do most of the time. You see the cogs turning and he just runs himself into awkward spots where he ends up isolated or in a shitty position where he can't pass but can get off a crap shot at an awful angle.
  6. He's Djibril Cisse. He'll never come good. You're not that raw at 24/25 and suddenly develop a footballing brain. This is the finished product. He'll do well in a weaker league but he's not smart enough or composed enough to cut it at this level. He's not a terrible player and will get goals but not anywhere near what he's technically capable of but he's never going to be consistent enough.
  7. I think we like to look for the magic reason things aren't working. Trent hasn't played for months though so we can disregard that straight away. It seems a mental thing rather than tactical. A lack of urgency early on and lacking composure where everything seems rushed. When the opposition get a hold of the game we just run out of ideas, it's like the players aren't thinking but on autopilot. There's no pattern to anything and it just looks like headless chickens panicking. Like the forwards smash the ball in the general direction of the goal with no direction, just hoping the keeper fucks up.
  8. Or salah trying to curl it with 64 defenders on his path.
  9. I hate our box play. Just 3 of us stood there looking gormless and not moving and being flat footed and slow to react to the ball. Other teams seem able to open a gap to get a pass or shot off. We're just guaranteed to lose the ball and get countered. You just know we're at best getting some absolute shit weak fanny shot off that rolls to the keeper at 2mph.
  10. What is he meant to do though? Leave it last minute and we have weeks to find another manager? It's shite but it's on the players, not him. They've bottled it when it counts. Maybe we're actually only good enough for 3rd though and this is just things averaging out. Winning is about consistency and being able to keep strong runs going, the good but not great sides usually hit a really good streak but are found wanting when the gas runs out.
  11. It's not the misses really, it's the passive performances and we give up stupid goals early on. That puts pressure on everyone and once a few players start to make mistakes it spreads through the team like a virus. One player starts to misplace passes or have the touch of a rapist and it makes others nervy because they're second guessing whether to pass to them or whether they'll underhit a pass back etc. Everyone starts to dither and everything slows down, you could see that shite was a mix of passivity and lack of confidence, you can see they don't believe they're going to win games. We won't pull it back even if the other sides drop points, the mentality isn't there.
  12. No one put one in though, hardly fair to call out who's just come back from months out. We were all absolutely fucking awful there. Pretty pathetic all round. We don't deserve to win the title, dosy and weak. It's frustrating as shit teams just have to step it up a bit and we won't match their levels. Their heads have gone, absolutely not a winning mentality. We get cocky when the praise is being heaped on us and then shit ourselves against some absolute turd sides. Beaten by hard work and tenacity. Pretty embarassing.
  13. I don't even think you can single out individuals, we were dog shit as a team. Trent has barely played in months either. You can't expect a perfect performance coming back from injury, he probably wasn't even expecting to get any minutes.
  14. I don't even feel stressed or on edge watching. Just resigned to the reality of 3rd. I'd look at moving on Salah and Nunez in the summer. Salah's best days are behind him and once he has no pace he will fall off a cliff imo. He's pretty poor technically and has some awful decision making at times. It's amazing that his numbers are so good, I guess it's the amount of volume he puts in that he scores a decent amount. I don't think that'll be the case going forwards though as he'll struggle to beat his man with less pace. Nunez will just never get any better than what he is now. He doesn't have the footballing brain to learn and adapt so he'll always be raw. I think he'd do well in a weaker league but can't ever see him being a top premier league forward. Maybe you keep him as a rotation player who starts against weaker sides and off the bench vs stronger teams because of his pace etc.
  15. We need more Henderson floated slow balls into the box with 8 opposition defenders behind the ball.
  16. To be honest that's fair. I think we're probably where we deserve to be. The foundations are good but we're flawed and need to change a few things. Teams have definitely worked out how to play against us, the weaker sides look so comfortable playing us. We just look so scruffy in everything we do. Absolutely shite teams seem to be able to control the ball so much better and crisply hit a pass etc.
  17. Our big actual problem up front is we don't place ANYTHING. Everything is just hit and hope, the players are just trying to get it on target and hoping it finds it's way in. Absolutely no placement and composure. We're dog shit in front of goal unless it's one v one and even then we'll manage to sky it or just hit it at the keeper.
  18. I've defended him but I'm thinking back to him missing sitters in those tight games. We've dropped easy points and even when we've finally gotten ahead late in the game it means we've been tired from having to run ourselves into the ground. Missing all these chances just heaps pressure on the whole team, causes nerves and rushed decision making.
  19. The sad thing is we don't look like a team. We're like United here but without the cutting edge going forwards. Just a bunch of headless chickens.
  20. I think you have to start the game and stamp your authority on the game. Aggression, plenty of pressing and direct attacking. We're too passive and I think it lets the other side relax and they start having a go because they must vibe that we're not going to battle in the challenge or for the loose balls.
