PODCAST: Liverpool 1 Manchester City 1 - Match Reaction

Lucho worked his arse off. In many ways Lucho was brilliant, but unless Darwin was actually injured, it is Lucho that should have been subbed, because as mentioned in the match chat, he tends to cramp Robbo’s style. Cody came on for Darwin. My heart sank. It sank because Mo had come on and I knew Mo would thread a wonder ball onto a front runner and I backed Darwin to get the job done. Even Cody I think would have scored Diaz’s chance. Personal opinion. At the end of the day, we couldn’t find a goal, but christ there were squandered opportunities. -
I’m not going to dispute their well taken goal. They caught us napping. However, I’m listening to Owen and Macca on the post match comments and they’re saying ‘no-one is giving that as a penalty under those circumstances, that late on, against that team. No penalty’ Well. Fuck. You.
-
So with Lucho in the wide front role, are you accepting of Robbo’s slightly different role?
-
Yes. I know what you mean.

Robbo is fit, and for me Robbo is first choice LB. As for his dip ‘from the highs of his peak’ I really do think it’s because Diaz is taking a lot of space that traditionally Robbo got into. In fact we’ve even seen Diaz go to left back in an emergency. I would like to see how Diaz can go on the right, working with Conner and obviously Trent when fit. Robbo then has the left wing all to himself.

We saw it not given last weekend - the Forest Kung Fu kick in our box. Ignored.
-
Honesty, pride in the team, the club. Not afraid to chat about the big calls. Christ can’t he just take a sabbatical? Twelve months off. Hold the fort. Take a long breather. I don’t want Xabi to fail.
-
Minimum indirect freekick in the box for me. Jus’ sayin’
-
yes, but nullified Robertson, because he goes so wide. If Diaz stays on, Joe at LB is the call, and Conner stays on at RB, with the extra offensive mix. As for Darwin, we’ve seen Mo assist him all season when they’ve played together. I’d have backed that combo all the way to the 99 minutes. Like I say, personal opinion. There’s no right and wrong. Great game of fucking football though and Anfield at it’s absokute best ❤️

My god…I love Jurgen Klopp. What an interview.
-
As much as Diaz gave 120%, as he does, the key decision for me was Cody for Darwin. I’d have defo taken Diaz off and backed Darwin, particularly in injury time. The other decision for me was pulling Conner. I didn’t notice him looking tired, and we lost a lot of opportunity down the right after he went off. However, there’s no ‘one way’ to beat City, and luck is so much apart of it. We got lucky at the back, but not in the final third.

We had the ball in the net 3 times.

Kelleher is a talisman. Its magic the way the ball ends up in his hands

DIAZ to make amends

Goddamnit…Darwin off. In Klopp we trust

Diaz not hooked. Will it come back to bite
-
Diaz has just not been on it.

Our important passes are a fraction to slow.

Noice.
