Refs just wont give us penalties.

Comfortable afternoon ahead IMHO. Good to see Klopp switching it up a bit, attacking wise. Get a couple first half goals and it would be a stroll in the second half.

When Lemar was being linked last summer, I kept hoping we would go for Fekir who I consider the superior player. He probably would have moved from Lyon before Lacazette but had a bad injury the season before. Hopefully,we get the deal over the line.

Happy enough that we showed we can grind out a result in these type of scrappy games once again. A defeat might have dented momentum. One point away in the derby, even with 4 or 5 regular starters not playing is fine with me. On to more important matters.

Firmino obviously had his mind on the second leg. He was quite poor. Gave away the ball and gave away free kicks.

I think the slow motion replay didn't do him any favours in that penalty incident. In real time, he did go down quite quickly. It was barely half a second between the kick on his foot and him hitting the deck. The slow motion replay makes it seem as if he waited 2 or 3 seconds before hitting the ground because of course, the action was being showed slooooowly. The main problem is that he didn't sell it well enough because he jumped too high in the air. At the end of the day, he was actually fouled. Even if the ref didn't want to give a penalty, the yellow was harsh. And I reckon the ref knew the first yellow was harsh which is why he was reluctant to show him the yellow he should have received in the 2nd half for handball.

It's a pity. I do think he is the better option to partner VVD for this season but he really doesn't help himself with these interviews. He just comes across as being so mentally fragile the more we read these things he says, despite him protesting to the contrary. Really hope he doesn't make another big error if he plays on Wednesday because I think so many of us are already sick of this pattern of him blurting things to the press just before Liverpool play.
