  1. I think that's one of the most sensible posts Ive read since the result. That said, Im totally at ease with the situation. Id like us to win the FA Cup but not before we've won the league and hopefully, retained the CL. Could we win all three this season? No I dont think so, I think it will be a massive ask for the players to win the title and retain the CL (still want to go unbeaten in the league as well!?) because anyone who has seen the players can see how fucked they looked towards the end of the wolves and spurs games for starters. We just cannot run the players into exhaustion playing extra games. And anyone pointing to city should remember the easy run of draws city had in both domestic cups last season.
  2. I always loved winning the league over the FA Cup even back when semis were played on neutral grounds and the final was wall to wall on BBC if you hadnt qualified for a ticket. Im sick of saying it, a 30 year wait for the title is far worse than jibbing the FA Cup with a U23 team.
  3. The FA can fuck off. Since when have Liverpool been bothered by them? This the same FA that stopped lower league teams swapping home advantage in the cup to stop them enjoying a bigger payday that potentially keeps them going for a year? And the FA is going to take us to task for fielding a 'weakened' team that gives a lower league team a very good chance of progressing to the next round? And how do you determine a 'weak' team from a 'weakened' or 'very weak' team in their competition now? The FA have diluted their own competition. We have VAR if the tie is played at a PL ground but no VAR if played at a lower league ground. There's replays in round 3 and 4 proper but not from round 5. Both semis at Wembley and the final kicking off at 5:30pm. They are having a fucking laugh to even think about sanctioning us.
  4. Fuck em. They're always crowing how prosperous manchester is and how poor Liverpool is. 39,000 with tickets given away to school kids and 15 quid? Someone's having a laugh saying its not good to call these cunts out for not turning out.
  5. Oh, has the rule changed about refs only stopping games for head injuries as well? Could have sworn the ref stopped play because a Shrewsbury player had cramp.
  6. Jurgen's saying no first teamers will take part due to the PL's winter break which all clubs were asked to respect and not re arrange fixtures in it. Critchley will manager a U23 team for the replay. Unless Jurgen backs down. https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/jurgen-klopp-liverpool-fa-cup-17635037
  7. My word, this is like a Kennedy moment. What a tragedy.
  8. Hahaha, yeah city did it after 42 years of winning sweet fuck all and spending a billion quid, ergo, it must be relatively easy to do so we must do it too. That's your thinking and we havent won the title for 30 years because you just want to win any trophy and not the one that's constantly eluded us for now nigh on a generation! Ive been saying it for ages, to win the league we need to jib the domestic cups. By 'jib' I mean put out a U23 side with a sprinkling of squad players and players returning to fitness much like Jurgen has done. But like Ive said, you dont see because you think it more important at this juncture to attempt to win everything we can instead of getting a 30 year monkey off our back first. It's like you're in a 1500m race and 500m from the finish with you 100m ahead, you see the high jump has started so you step off the running track and try and win that as well. You'll never grasp it as long as you've a hole in your arse.
  9. No I was just trying to say my comments complimented yours.
  10. Im not surprised you dont see a problem. You seem a snatch defeat from the jaws of victory kind of guy and let's spread our playing resources to the absolute limit trying to win just any trophy, it doesnt matter if it means missing out on the title because there's always the cup which in itself is a far bigger lottery. The kind that believes we havent yet won the league (which is a fair enough position to hold) but still thinks there no issue loading the players up with even more games to try and win a lesser trophy than the bigger prize which is virtually in their grasp. And yes, a gambler will always think they can outwit the bank. But they never do.
  11. I didnt think Minamino was poor. I thought he was one of the better performers. And considering he was playing up front with Divock who did fuck all, I think that shows how hard a game he had.
  12. Oh fucking hell, you go on in the league game threads about IF we win the title and now you're wanting us to try winning the cup on top of our league and CL games. You couldnt make it up!
  13. Yep, he certainly put in more of a captain's performance than the captain did today.
  14. No he's giving the first team players and coaching staff about 5 days off.
  15. Exactly this. Said it all season we shold jib the cups and just because we're nailed on for the title now, Im not changing my tune. The CL is a higher priority than a treble especially when we've already won 2 trophies this season. The same team should play Shrewsbury at Anfield and if it isnt good enough to win, it isnt good enoughto win, simple as. As for those two in the middle of defence, Gomez and Nat Phillips put in a far better performance than them against a PL attack, albeit everton. Let that sink in for a moment. Matip and Lovren were made to look the same level as their League One opponents today.
  16. Well, we got what we deserved there. That's no reflection on the young lads, it's a reflection on senior pros such as Lovren, Matip, Fabinho and Origi. I dont care if some of them are just coming back from injuries, these are seasoned pros and should be giving leadership to the young lads, most of whom if not all, showed them up. The ref gave them a lifeline with that pen that wasnt. He took a fucking age to decide and went off their players and fans appeals. And he also missed the handball by their player in their box. But, the trouble started minutes after we got that second goal as an og. Matip and Lovren then decide its game over and start pissing around at the back and inviting them onto us. And as this pair are as dodgey as fuck when they play together, you'd think they know better but no, let's piss about with the ball on our box and invite them on to us and then we'll panick. When they got the pen, the writing was on the wall. Origi didnt decide to start playing until the 70th minute and even then, he only put in a 5 minute appearance. Credit to Shrewsbury who didnt give up and get their club a big payday. Bang goes our week off in February because the replay is scheduled for that week as far as Im aware. BBC and that cunt Lineker bigging this up as some kind of giant killing.
  17. Fuck off you could see that was outside and the ref's given that because of their appeals. But, we've seniormpros out there and they're now fucking strolling around like headless chickens and giving th eyounger lads no leadership whatsoever. Matip and Lovren seem determined to fuck up at the back.
  18. And he even sounded like that manc cunt tony gubba as well!
  19. Harsh being critical of the young lads so I wont be. Lovely pass from Pedro for young Curtis to finish. Good save by Adrian otherwise it would be 1-1. Divock has looked very poor, you'd think he'd want to impress in these games and he's been beaten in virtually every time he's come up against a Shrewsbury player. Fab's looking rusty and a little bit slow. Taki has been busy and maybe should have taken a second touch with that one he lashed at. As always, a second goal kills them off but the longer they're in the game, they'll get more confident. Should have had a deffo pen when their player put arm to ball but the ref nor lino spotted it.
  20. Play him for 60-70 minutes then bring him off I hope. Doesnt need running into the ground when coming back from a long lay off.
  21. Liverpool: Adrian, Williams, Matip, Lovren, Larouci, Fabinho, Chirivella, Jones, Minamino, Elliott, Origi. Subs: Kelleher, Keita, Firmino, Salah, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Hoever, Alexander-Arnold.
